Like many another collection of short stories, this one has some variation in the qualities, more particularly the spicy qualities in each of its ten very short, short stories. Cougar: An Erotica Collection not so much by as edited by Lily Harlem is a fun array of ten, as the publisher call them: Mischievous books. The binding theme is that they all feature women of a certain age. Past that first blush of youth and therefore more likely to be aware and deliberate in how they choose to express their lusts. Not to say all are seducers, some are courted and some rather work to seduce themselves, to the benefit of usually younger men.

Speaking as a man older yet than the lusty ladies on these pages, I like that someone is writing to an audience that rends to over appreciated youth. The naughty books business is highly specialized. Wonderful that the Cougar gets her space and female writers to better serve their membership. While the stories are short averaging less than 20 pages each. There is space to give each cougar personality as well as the authors style in depicting sex. I would have preferred more time to know these people, living their lives as well as expressing their sexuality. That would have been a different, or several different books.
