Another enjoyable read for sports fans by Tim Green. The latest in the Football Genius series, Troy and Ty are now living together in New Jersey. Ty is ready to go to St. Stephens, an expensive prep school with a great football team. Troy, thanks to his father, must move into a small house and go to public school. He still has his "genius" job with the Jets, but he's basically doing it for no pay due to circumstances beyond his control. But when he meets Chuku whose father is having a tryout with the Jets, a plan is hatched. If Troy, Ty and Chuku could all get on at Summit High School, they could be the new powerhouse football team in the district. All they would need is a new coach. Enter Seth Halloway, thanks to Troy's request, as the new coach. But Thane is reluctant to allow Ty to change schools. This angers Troy. But even without Ty, Troy and Chuku start their season with a bang and things are looking up. The only problem Troy has is his job with the Jets: he can no longer "predict" the football plays and is, therefore, not help to the Jets defense. Their owner doesn't take too kindly to this. Then, when accusations of "recruiting" outside the district threaten Summit's season, things begin to unravel for Troy.

Fast action, fun dialogue and a good story makes this another great addition to the sports novel genre. Seems set up for a sequel, too.

I think that a theme could be teamwork. I think so because they wanted to have a perfect season but there were many obstacles in the way. This kid told a news reporter his thoughts on something and then the football league banned them and accused them of recruiting players. But they had to work as a team to overcome their obstacle and get that perfect season.

I had liked this book. I had currently finished "The Big Time" which was another book the football genius series. I wish for more books in this series. Although the chapters were short, this book was great!

It is about a boy named Troy that moved from private school to a public school. Troy wanted to go back to his private school to play football because the public school he went to had a football team but with a messed up field and not much players on the team. I like this book because it gets more interesting and made me read more. I also dislike it because it got kind of boring in some parts.

Tim Green did a fantastic job with this series. Troy and Chuku get in some trouble after Troy lost a bet and gave up his back stage concert tickets. After Troy got Seth to coach at the local school every thing went down hill. The press would not get off there backs about recruiting even though the kids were tricked into saying they were recruited. What do think will happen when the league directed goes to court with a high school football team?

I thought this book was an amazing book because it kept me reading more and more. My favorite part of this book was that Troy turned the Summit High School football team into a winning machine team that made their season a perfect one. Also what I like about this book was that Troy thought he lost these "football genius" identity during the Jets' season, but somehow regaining it from his high school season. I hope this author will be publishing more books like this one in the future.

Troy and Ty have gone though a lot and then they found out that they were cousins, so they were trying to play on the same football team but Troy didn't have enough money to of to Ty's school. So Troy had to make the most of his new school and he found out that they had some good football players on the team. They started out the season and with the help of a football star they were able to become very good.

Great book.
This book is about a kid that is 13 and is a football player. He is also really smart. He can predict what play another team is going to do. This book is inspirational because it tells you that no matter what you can always make a comeback. This book is written by Tim Green. I recommend this to anybody in middle school that likes football.

Book Review on Perfect Season by Tim Green

This is a book review of Perfect Season by Tim Green. He is a New York Times bestselling author and it is published by Harpercollins Children Books. The book tells a story about lifes lessons on and off the football field. Troy is the main character and he has to learn some hard life lessons and issues about family issues that most of us have never had to deal with or experience. In the end Troy learns that to be successful in life or sports you have to give it your all.
This is a great book to read if you are a sports fan. You can also relate it to your life. It will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the excitement and drama. The author makes great sense in how he describes and portrays Troy’s ups and downs in life and sports. Tim Green the author challenges all of us to give our all in life, sports and anything else that is worth doing. He uses sports as an analogy but also ties it to everyday life. As TIm Green says in the book “Four wins in seven years?” “The other teams are playing football. These guys are playing hopscotch or something.” As he is making this analogy he is saying sometimes you may be thinking you are doing the right thing but you are totally doing something different. You have to stay focused and try in everything you do; not just football or playing any other sports.
The book is about a young football player who wanted to play for a private school football powerhouse. In doing this he wanted to attend with his cousin and both be able to play football together. This changed when his dad’s investment of $5 million into a chrimale activity was discovered by the IRS and the money was lost. So in order to attend school now his mother had to pay tuition. His mother worked as a nurse in order to make ends meet. The story follows Troy the main character, Ty his cousin, Seth captain on the football team and Coach Sindoni head football coach of Summit.
The story is about how Troy puts together a great season for Summit who had always been a down football team. They had been a very bad football team for many years. Summit had been bad for so long the school was going to sell the land where the football field laid. A developer was going to develop it into a shopping center. Overall, the book is a fairly easy read but it can sometimes be difficult in keeping up with all the events. As the story goes you have to stay focused! It is a fun read though for a sports enthusiasts and anyone who is going through some difficult times in their life.
I enjoyed the book very much because I could relate to Troy the main character. The main reason is because he had a lot going on and had to become focused and remain focused. He was having to deal with family disappointment and concerns while attending high school and also playing football. In the beginning he was not 100% focused or into it but he learned finally he had to be in order to get through it. Another reason I can relate to Troy is I play football also. I know how he felt in having to learn new plays and performing on Friday night. Keeping up your academics while playing sports in school can be difficult but not impossible.
I really enjoyed reading the book and my favorite part was Troyś first Friday night game. When Troy gets hit by a middle linebacker and is thrown in the air. He lands on one foot but isn't tackled but stays upright and throws a comeback pass to his receiver. The author gave great details in how he had to stay upright and not be distracted to keep the play alive. This is real life also. You not only have to be strong physically but mentally too. Life is not just one play but a series of plays and lots of things coming at you at once. But you have to be focused and strong to avoid those distractions and keep the play alive or as in life keep going. In closing, again this is not only about sports but also life and the upś and downs life throws at you. No matter how big or small you may be or how good or bad as a sports team you still have to be strong and stay focused. As we all know during a season you will have high points and low points but each one leads you to how the season will end. If you get down to low with the low points it will begin to take a toll but if you get too high with the high points it can lead to being over confident. So just as in life we have to be able to adjust and get back up when life throws us a curve and not be overconfident when things are going well. We have to know how to stay focused and be balanced.
Life and sports can go hand and hand but can turn on a dime. It is how you respond that determines the outcome. The outcome is not only wins or losses in a game but also in life. I would recommend this book to any sports enthusiasts or someone who may be going through some difficult times in there life. It ties life's triumphs and tragedies together as well as family struggles and sports in one great story.

Perfect Season is a book written by Tim Green telling the story of an 8th grader, Troy,
whose football genius landed him a job at the Jet, giving him plenty of money to afford attending a prestigious private school with a dominant football program. However, when his father loses all of his money, Troy has to attend a public school with a historically losing, and dying football program. To save his future in football, Troy has to work harder than ever before to transform that losing team into champions, even when his abilities and talents start to slip. A major objective of this book is to motivate young athletes, and especially student athletes to pursue their dreams and goals, despite whatever obstacles they may face. Through Troy’s story, Tim Green shows the benefits of hard work and perseverance. This message can be translated into every part of life, but Tim Green decides to display it through this athlete’s story, in order to appeal to other athletes. Another objective of the book is part of its arguments as well. These arguments that Tim Green uses the book to show, are, one: talent does not get you everywhere, and two: nothing happens exactly how you plan it. With the first argument, Green is showing the audience that no matter what, you will need to work hard to achieve your dreams, no matter what talent you possess. This further emphasizes the “work hard and you’ll succeed” message of this book that he uses to motivate the audience. Next, the second argument is shown repeatedly throughout the book. It even shows up in the beginning of the book, when Troy’s mom says, “‘It’s not a bad lesson for Troy to learn. Things don’t always work out the way you plan them, right?’” (Green 14). As this quote shows, Troy is forced to learn this lesson many times, starting with his high school plans being ruined. I believe that the author does a great job supporting his arguments, because, like I said before, this is emphasized many times throughout the book. Troy is forced to adapt to his new school, new teammates, and new coach, all in order to achieve a perfect season. I also believe that Green does a good job supporting the other argument, that talent alone doesn’t get you anywhere. Green supports this by showing Troy struggle when his talent slips, emphasizing the weakness of talent alone, without any hard work. I also believe that Green did a good job of displaying the objectives in the book. The book definitely has a pretty common theme of hard work that is clearly shown throughout the book and with the very happy, although typical ending, this book does a good job of being motivational, which is Green’s main goal. There aren’t many specific books or other media that I can compare this book to, since I don’t read many sports books myself, but I know that it isn’t a very unique book, because of its pretty basic theme, and its basic ending, with the team winning their last game. Overall, this book had a pretty basic concept, but it was still very enjoyable to read. There were some events in the book that I did not expect at all, despite its fairly predictable ending. For one, I would think that a parent leaving with all of the kid’s money would be a little dark for a book like this, but it did a good job setting up the story. I think I would give this book a 3 out of 5 stars, since it was enjoyable to read most of the time, but it just lacked depth that makes it a lot more interesting and fulfilling to read.

Tony is the main character in the story he is always in almost everything that is happening in the story, the story basically revolves around him. Troy is also another main character in the story he is Tony’s cousin and he has hope but also doesn’t at the same time for the football team. Troy finds out that the school football team has an unbroken losing streak they haven’t won a game in years. Troy is an amazing Quarter-Back who helps them break that losing streak and they go onto a decently good winning streak. He gets told that the New York Jets are looking at him,but his chances get threatened and he has to dig deep. Troy gets Seth to coach this public school team. Some of the plays slip and that is what put Troy into the struggle where he has to dig deep. Troy goes through so many struggles and he realizes that he plays against all the people who want him to lose and not be big time.

I like the way the book was written, in my opinion that’s how a lot of sports books should be written because nobody is gonna have a perfect way of getting anywhere in sports and in life. It was written in a way where it shows, maybe you wanna go somewhere that has a good sports program but something ends up happening so that doesn’t happen. It does feel like the characters in the book are real and like you know them because they all act normal and goes through struggles just like how all of us humans do. They mess up during their games, just like how all of us humans do in reality. Some of the main events in the story is in the start of the story when Troy’s father takes his and his mother’s allowance and they are basically homeless. When he gets Seth to coach the football team that is a big event that happens. Troy expresses his opinion on how everyone says the football team won’t be successful and hasn’t been in years by, just saying no the team will be successful and this year will be different,”There’s no such thing as school without football”.

I connected with the text personally because I do to go through struggles as well in my sports life. I do go through doubt that people say the team isn’t gonna be successful and that is very annoying and I feel that many people can relate to that. It compares to some video games usually sports ones because you don’t always do good you have to go through many losses and wins to understand this. Along with you have to go through years of stuff like that happening you can’t just do one sport and the next year do a different sport and say you don’t have any hope for that sport. It can connect with a lot of the things that happen in the real world because everyone goes through the struggles with sports and doubters and possibly losing a scholarship or possibility at going big time. Everyone can relate to it whether they're an athlete or not with life struggles and haters. There is usually never a time when something is easy and you can go from little to big in your lifetime. You will always deal with doubters who will tell you that you won’t make it.

In the novel Perfect Season by Tim Green, we can infer that when you get screwed-over by someone, you can still overcome your obstacles by your dedication and hard work to obtain your goal of proving yourself to the doubters.
The main character, Troy, has a special talent where he is able to see a football play before it happens. NFL teams became in contact with him and he eventually signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons worth two million dollars. Everything in Troy’s life was going perfect until his dad “put five million dollars into a criminal enterprise.” (2) He took all the money from him and his mom then literally vanished. Troy and his mom are left dirt-poor and can’t go to a phenomenal private school with a great football team for Troy to play quarterback. Instead, they go to this beat-down public school where the football team loses every game. This doesn’t stop Troy though, as he started to ask around his high school coaches and even the Atlanta Falcons. “I don’t want a coach from a JV team, I want the real deal.” Troy kept asking for more and more coaches until a linebacker on the Falcons offers to do the job. He was dedicated to the game by never quitting to find a good coach for his team who has been at rock bottom since day one. Even when Troy got a starting linebacker from the Falcons to coach his team, he wasn’t done: “Why don’t you go ask some of your teammates, Seth?” Troy questioned? Seth’s response, “For the hundredth time today I’ll ask them tomorrow at practice!” Troy is relentless when it comes to being successful, and it also shows on the field when it comes to hard work.
Troy loved to practice with his team. He was the quarterback, the leader of the team, and he did in fact lead by example. Seth states how he’s always the “First one there… and the last one out” Troy would encourage his receivers to stay over an hour after practice working on routes and plays. Troy’s arm would feel like jello after every practice but he knew it was worth it.
Troy had a chip on his shoulder, a chip like no other. He plays the game to prove himself. By playing with all his heart, he was proving both his dad and the private school wrong. I can relate this to myself, where I always feel like I can improve my own game and help others reach their greatest potential. I know how Troy feels, always playing with a chip on his shoulder, always being doubted. I always make sure to be on time for practice and make sure to stay on the ice for as long as possible until either my coach kicks me off or the Zamboni driver tells me he’s got to cut the ice. Both Troy and I were proving our doubters wrong by becoming better and better each day. Troy was achieving his goals by committing himself to the game and determination so he could overcome his hardships.

This book falls into the sports fiction genre. I know this because this story is about a boy who is in love with sports, and the main plot revolves around football, and this could happen in real life, but it does not, which makes it fiction.
The protagonist in this book is Troy White. The other characters are his mom, Ty Lewis, Chuku, and Seth Halloway. The theme of the book is determination and to never give up on your dreams. This is the theme because Troy goes through struggles about football and money. The book takes place in New Jersey in modern time. Troy White is a football genius who just recently moved to New Jersey for his football job of predicting plays, but him and his mother are broke as his father stole all of their money. Troy is enrolled into a school which has a terrible football team and he has a ex-football player as their coach, and they are determined to turn the team around. His cousin Ty, did not try to help him and joined a good team, so Troy and his friend Chuku are the stars on their team, and they are the people who will make their team good at any cost.
Troy’s internal conflict is that in a new town, new state, amd new school, he does not know anyone and is faced with a financial crisis and is torn emotionally with football and money. He is mad at his father but is mad with himself for still wanting him in his life. He also believes that the whole world is against him. He is torn with himself for choosing football or friends, and is sad he cannot have both.
An external conflict in this book is that Troy is on a very bad football team, and he is faced with criticism when he joins this team, and his overall life is bad because of his financial crisis as well. His father was a lawyer who was knee deep in financial debt, and Troy was his ticket out. That left Troy broke and in a new town and a small house and a small school. He is faced with the struggle of the sport he loves more than anything is not available to him and is poorly run, and he is determined to turn it around.
I really enjoyed this book because it shows in great detail the struggle that some kids my age have to go through, but it also shows how you can jump over those obstacles and make your life better for yourself. I think boys from the age of 10-14 will like this book because it is about the hardships of sports, but the greatness of the feeling of winning, as well. Also, it is about the sport of football so that is why I think boys will like it. The age group of this book is 10-14 because it is sometimes difficult and hard to understand. This suspense makes this book even more interesting.

So far I really like this book, If your looking for a good football book, this is for you. So far it's about a kid named Troy and his mom and dad were living in a really nice neighborhood, but then his dad robbed a bank and went on the run. So Troy and his mom said goodbye to all there nice stuff and had to move into a small house in a small town called Summit. Troy is really good at football and at 15 years old signed a multi million dollar deal with the New York Jets. Troy has to become 16 to earn the money so he has to play 1 year at a school that hasn't won a football game in 7 years. So him and his cousin TY are really close to each other and Ty parents passed away in a car crash and so it's just TY and his older brother Thane who is a star wide receiver for the New York Jets. Ty really to join Troy to play football but Thane won't let Ty play at Summit. So Troy is mad because of that and he needs a new wide receiver. Thane takes Troy and Ty to go see the field and facility at where the New York Jets practice at. Troy sees a kid about 6 foot 2 and sees that he is a very good wide receiver because he was running drills with his dad who is in the NFL and Chuku says Hi to Troy and everything clicked from there. Troy and Chuku will be going to Summit together to play and hopefully win and turn the program around for the better. If you will Football and good books than go get this book and read it for yourself and suggest it to a friend.

Over the summer, I read the book ‘Perfect Season’ by Tim Green. The book is about a boy that gets adopted by a loving family and his father being the high school football coach. He starts playing football and is the best player on the team. Later in the season, he finds out he has bone cancer and the only way to prevent it from spreading through his body is to amputate his leg. He lost his hair and his leg and was devastated with his life. His parents always tried to cheer him up but nothing happened. Along with losing football and his leg, he got bullied for having bone cancer. He then got his prosthetic leg and practiced walking on it but it was hard for him. He would fall over constantly and would say it's useless and it's a waste of time. He then gets better at using his prosthetic leg and starts walking again. Once he gets better at walking with his prosthetic leg, his father decided to tell him that if he keeps working, he could join the football team. He gets even better walking with his prosthetic leg and he joins the team again. He starts playing but he doesn’t feel the same. I personally love this book because it shows all emotions like triumph, sadness, and defeat. Tim Green is one of my favorite authors if not the favorite and this book is definitely one of his best. I would recommend this book to others because of the rollercoaster of emotions this book has.

Troy new that he could get into the NFL at a young age. But he couldn't seem to do much under pressure. His family didn't have enough money for him to go to a big school. So his mom made him go to this public school that didn't have a good football program. When he gets this dude named Seth to come up from Atlanta to coach his public school team. He feels ready that he is gonna get a good season. Troy works for the jets and thinks that he is gonna get paid a lot. At one of his own football games he landed on his shoulder and hurt it. When he hurt he couldn't really see what the other teams were running for the NFL. That was a big impact on him because then all the coaches thought that he couldn't do it. But after a while he was able to do it again. I think that this could be a good life experience. The reason I think that it could be a good one because he never gave up on what he was trying to do. Also I think that this could be a good life lesson because you don't always have to listen to what people say to you. I love the author that wrote this book. He writes the best books ever. This is another good book that I have read of his. I think that their will be many more that I will read that I like.

Football thriller that you won’t want to put down.

Troy White is known for being a “football genius” around the country. The problem is his dad, Drew White, took his money and ran off after he signed with the Jets. Troy is stuck playing football at a dump school that barely has a program with one of his new best friends, Chuku Moore in hope of snapping the losing streak.

Perfect Season is a fictional book that is part of a 6 book series written by Tim Green. This book targets mainly 12 years and up but it’s a little lengthy with just under 400 pages.

Troy White is a football genius that can predict plays, he recently signed with the New York Jets to make a championship run but his dad stole his money and left. Instead of playing at a private school with his cousin he’s stuck at a dump school with his new best friend Chuku Moore as they make varsity as 8th graders. Troy, Chuku and their new coach, former falcons linebacker, Seth Holloway think they can turn the program around to win a championship.

When Troy was about to lose it all he realized what was important to him most and dug deep to keep going. What Troy goes through in the book most athletes can relate to and can do the same thing Troy did, realize what’s most important to him.

The story takes place in present day New Jersey in a town called summit. Troy White is the main protagonist while his dad drew White is the main antagonist.

Tim Green did a great job with this book. He uses words actions and feelings that many athletes relate to the most. That’s why many think this book is so good. When reading the book it gets harder and harder to put it down once started because how real it feels.

Perfect Season is a Nonfiction book about the popular sport Football. You love to read about sports and drama like events, then this book should be perfect for you.
Troy has to go to one of the worst high schools in the county. Because of his father and the things his father had done to ruin the family. Troy's mom is broken and the family is just going down hill. And the only way to make his mom better and him feel better, he has to try out for the high school football team. One of his mom's friends becomes the coach, and him and Troy are gonna try and bring this team to the top. But to be able to do that they are gonna have to go through a lot of stuff and its gonna be hard to try and bring stars to the team. After they get some stars they are ready to play, they start off 1-0 but can they continue the win streak?
In this book they are a lot of chapters, and every chapter is 2 to 4 pages long. I liked how it was all different perspectives on the other characters in this book. And all the chapters were really specific with all the details.

In the book "The Perfect Season" by Tim Green, Troy decides he wants to play at a high school level of football. But troy has to pass the physical for the high school team. during the story Troy, Ty, and Chuku decide that they want to all be on the high school team. Although Thane doesn't let Ty. That doesn't stop Chuku and Troy from being of the team. They made the team, but they deal with some trouble from the high schoolers. Will they make it through the season together?

I personally liked this book a lot because I love all kinds of sports, and because I enjoyed reading it from start to finish which I usually don't enjoy books from start to finish, but this book is full of exciting and nerve-wracking moments. One thing I would do with this book is include the state championship because it would have been a lot more exciting if they won all of the postseason games.

I think that the people that will enjoy this book is ages of 11-14 because the content isn't low, but it isn't high. there are some words little kids might get tripped up on but this book is definitely for ages 11-14.

I rated Perfect Season by Tim Green 5 stars because the book is interesting and suspenseful. Once you get to a good part in the book it will go to a cliffhanger and it makes you want to keep reading this is just a few reasons why this book is good. This book is about a team and how when they go undefeated but something happens to one of there star players so they have. To find a solution. I would recommend this book to kids that are nearing the end of 5th grade and anytime during the 6th grade. But if you like sports, in general, this is always good for a person that likes sports because there is never a time when sports isnt involved in the book

The book was good the way that they described troys emotions during the football game. The way that they describe how he feels during the entire book is really good. The book overall has a good storyline but there’s some parts that don’t make any sense for example how do a bunch of 13-14 year olds find out about a construction plan and how they can successfully change the outcome of an entire court as young kids or how he has the feelings of what plays will be played although it does fit in pretty well with the story and how it comes out in the ending

Troy is a great quarterback from New Jersey and they call him the Football Genius. He moved to an old public school that was named Summit. When he got their the feild was already broken down and the team only won 4 games in the last 4 years. He had to get more of a team besides himself. That is when he finds Seth, a NFL football player, to come coach his highscool team. Will he turn the program around and maybe even get a perfect season? This is a great book for people that like sports and like an inspiring great story.

The book perfect season was a great book I loved it. It was super interesting. I loved how the kid play's on a not so great football team and he turns that around and throws 6 touchdown passes a game. He makes something out of nothing. He is a super nice kid and he goes through so much he had to go to a new school. His dad is never in his life his parents had him and his dad left. I thought this book was great.
