Teresa has done it again. From the moment I read the first book in this series I knew I had found a very talented author that not only writes great military suspense but also compelling stories that just grip your heart and doesn’t let go until the final page.

The author chose to write this book in two parts within the same book. For the first part we get the background on Harold “Flash” Carney and Samantha Cross. We go back to Iraq to those moments before the mission that went wrong that has been the catalyst for this series. We knew from the first book that Flash was approached by the FBI but never knew the reasons why. In the previous books we were lead to believe that he had a gambling problem and that had gotten him in trouble with the wrong people. That was so not the case. Flash ends up having to go on the run from the FBI and NCIS after he is double crossed and who he assumes is the FBI trying to kill him. Running parallel to this is Samantha’s story. We come into her story right after she has been beaten horribly by her husband with their 4 year old daughter in the next room. While in the hospital recovering, Sam has finally reached her breaking point and takes the steps needed to get away from her monster of a husband.

Part two of the story picks up seven months later. Flash is using an alias and opening up a branch security office in Nevada. It’s here when he goes to rent a garage apartment that he meets Sam and her daughter Joy who now own the home since her grandmother passed away. Flash is still trying to gather all the information he can against the ones that framed him so he can clear his name and get back to him team. What he hadn’t counted on was falling for his skittish landlord with the cute kid that still had a crazy ex stalking her.

As Flash and Sam’s two messed up lives start to converge we also have a secondary story of Captain James and his wife Marsha and there very young son who has a genetic defect and heart problems. I hope the author doesn’t mind me saying this but after talking with her she felt that James needed some redeeming after the way he treated Brett (the hero from the second book). James and his wife along with their child were held and tortured for days by a terrorist in the second book. This not only left physical scars but deeply emotional ones for them both that have affected their marriage. James makes a decision when he finds another of his men in trouble and his marriage on the verge of ending that this time he is going to do everything within his power to try and save both.

Every time I read a book in this series I can see all the hard work that the author puts in to bring us such a compelling story. You are engrossed from the first page to the last and I savored every word and didn’t want it to end.

Soooo GOOD.

WOW I loved this book. It’s a perfect addition to the series and a wonderful stand alone if you haven’t read the previous book, but since the series is so good I highly recommend reading them all.

The first part of the book is nail-biting stressing while building the background for both characters (which is why this book could easily be a stand alone) and then when Flash and Sam lives crossed it’s both complicated and beautifully story told. Joy was a delight to read.

The sparks between Flash and Sam were blinding bright and the chemistry HOT, there is a bit less military aspects in this book but being Flash a SEAL, we get a lot of NAVY, FBI and NCIS politics.

The side stories were a good complement in the story and for those who read previous book, you’ll see lots of returning characters. SEAL’s are a tight knit group.
If you like military/romance, you’ll love this book.

I know a lot of people have raved about how wonderful this story was, etc etc. Unfortunately I just can't jump on this bandwagon. The idea of two concurrent storylines happening just didn't work for me. The author's attempts to keep us in the loop with Marsha and the Captain and the whole sad story about their baby just fell flat for me. I was interested in Flash and Sam, and wanted to learn more about them and how they fell for each other. Instead, it felt like I got an insta-love half-story. I was disappointed to say the least.

This is the third book in the SEAL TEAM heartbreakers series. Each story is better than the one before! Really! This story focuses on two of the members of the team. Flash is set up by the bad guys disguised as the good guys. He goes underground to stay alive. He works behind the scene to catch the bad guys. But, he is AWOL and NCIS is trying to bust him for that instead of helping him catch the criminals. And he still doesn't stop trying to do the right thing and catch the bad guys. He has moved into an apartment next door to the landlady with a little girl and very abusive ex-husband who is tormenting and stalking them. He goes into protection overload. A true SEAL of course. We also get to see Captain Jackson and Marsha's relationship which has gone in the toilet since the terrorist's attack in the previous book. She wonders if she should get a divorce and he wonders what it would take to rebuild their relationship. Neither wants to give up. You don't need to read the other two books but, it is helpful in the character backstories. Loved the story. Teresa Reasor knows how to tell a story and one with a lot of depth. It isn't all about the sex (although it is nicely written in) and more about the characters. FIVE STARS.

I didn't think it was possible, but I may love Breaking Away more than the first two books in the SEAL Team Heartbreakers series. Samantha Cross escapes her abusive husband after a particularly vicious beating, but he is determined to get her back; if he can't, he is willing to kill her. Flash is trying to evade arrest for going AWOL while working to take down the corrupt FBI agent who set him up to be murdered. At first the story works back and forth between Sam's struggles with her husband and Flash's attempt to get away from the the FBI, then they are brought together by a simple circumstance. Now Flash has two more battles to face, he must protect Joy and Sam and he has to fight off his attraction to his beautiful landlord.

Ms Reasor maintains high suspense throughout the well plotted book. I can't believe that I have been following her writing for less than a month. I am so hooked on her great writing style and her wonderful characters.

Navy SEAL Harold “Flash” Carney is working undercover for the FBI on an international smuggling sting. During this sting he runs into some trouble and isn’t even able to be in contact with his team. So he goes on the run hoping his training is enough to keep him alive! And that is when he finds Sam.

Samantha Cross is desperate to get away from her abusive ex-husband but he is trying to get custody of their daughter to keep them in his life. Samantha is determined to protect her daughter no matter what. And on top of this she is beginning to be drawn to her new renter.

I can not wait to read more of this series! I really enjoyed Flash’s story and knew I was going to when I read about his character in the first two books! It keeps you hooked from page one! I would highly recommend this series to anyone!!!

YAY! Finally... It seems like it's been forever waiting for Flash's story and it was well worth the wait. This has action, the damsel in distress, action, romance, action, and some more romance. Awesome read

Compelling writing; 4,5 stars; Maybe a bit too long and in parts predictable. Didn't expect a wonderful side-story, which would be best if written as a novella, no, it definitely deserves a novella.

Breaking Away: Military Romantic Suspense: Seal Team Heartbreakers Book 3 is by Teresa Reasor. This book is written just a little differently than the rest. First, we have background stories for Flash and Samantha before we actually get up,
Flash finds himself in trouble. He thought he was working for the FBI in trying to stop the drug trade. After Cutter is almost killed, he isn’t sure anymore. He thinks he was set up as were others, now he has to find the proof while the drug traders, politicians, workers, editors, etc. are trying to find him.
Samantha finally gets herself out of a very abusive marriage. She is fighting her ex to keep him away from their four-year-old daughter. Although his family has been brought down, she still has to be vigilant. Flash leased the garage apartment from her Grandmother before she died. Now he has to figure out how to protect Samantha and her daughter while trying to get himself out of a mess.
Very realistic and like life full of surprises and uprisings.

10 Tissue Read

So far this is the best one in the series. I’ve just found this author and I enjoy her writing style. Oh, this isn’t action packed (although there is some) it is emotionally packed and I love the romance between James & Marsha, it was well done on the part of the author to give us another side of James. Flash & Sam and of course Joy is touching and were the majority of my tissues rating❣️

Very good book. Loved the character of Flash and how complete he was. Sam was a very sweet and strong character as well, and her daughter, OMG! a real "sweet tart";). This book also introduced us a bit to the story behind Captain James Jackson, Marsha, and their son Alex, which was very nice too. Can't wait to dig into the 4th book of the series. Recommended!

Stories within stories

This book has "lots of moving parts" that made it harder for me to follow. It also has some really harsh, heavy subjects. The characters are wonderful and the ending is great. It is a good read.

Great book

This book is the third in the series and carries on the on going storyline from book one. It’s full of drama and intrigue and a family finding each other regardless of the obstacles in their path. Great book and series

I love how the author worked the whole story arc of this book from two different angles until Carney and Sam came together. Seeing the back story of each of them, and knowing why Carney disappeared and how, and what happened....well, it's not anything I had expected, but it was so much more! With Sam, her background, history and the things that brought her into Sam's orbit are intense. This is a dark book with regards to both sides, but ends on a lighter note. Sam really gets to know Carney as another person, another name, another background and does she walk away when he comes clean about what is going on with his past for the last 10 months? Or does she stick by his side? How about Joy, Sam's little girl. What does she think of Carney? What happens when you get the SEALS, FBI, NCIS, and Navy involved in something? Read and find out!

What a beautifully crafted story, where different story lines are through the tale brought closer and closer together until they all bind together. Every new chapter sparked more interest to the story, "one more chapter" until wee hours of the morning when I finished the book.
The stories are heart-breaking, but victorious and alluring. I loved it, when reading in tears, there was suddenly such a funny line, I burst into laughing aloud.
The love stories are passionate, charming, and delicate.
The relationship between Joy and Mr Tim delightful and lovely, the trust and love Joy has for him boundless, while Mr Tim cares for her in such a tender and gentle way.
And once again the brotherhood, loyalty, honor, and integrity of the team is demonstrated.
The suspense is thrilling, edge of your seat, holding your breath type. The violence gory and bloodstained, real.
I've truly enjoyed the series, and I hope there will be more in the future.

Holy hotness

This was yes another page turner in this series. Fell in love with all the Seals from book 1 and the adding of their significant others are awesome bonuses. Joy and Sam are perfect fits for flash. I can't say it enough when you get wrapped into a world like this it's sad to hit the last page. However I am excited for the next book as well. Great job on this one again each book is full of fun, hotness and excitement. Never looses its spark pardon the pun. Will recommend it to everyone until they want to rip their ears off. Congratulations on another super winner.

DNF. Okay so the background story they had going on was good. The problem is the couple doesn't interact at all, for any reason until almost halfway through the book. And it is a long book.

After they meet the romance was just not that interesting. So at just after 70% I called it quits.

Another good story and a great addition to this series. My only complaint is that it had been so long in between books that I forgot who the other characters were and what had happened.
