Are your children affected by TV and the internet?
Would they like to be famous as soon as possible?
Are they impatient about life in general (I want this and right now!)?
Are they unaware of their gifts?
Are they dreamers, but don’t have enough faith?
I have the solution for both you and your children, portrayed in a touching and great bedtime story.
Just like in my second book (Noah’s Petting Zoo), I will teach your children:
* How to be patient * How to be self-motivated * How to help one's fellow man * How to help the animals (cats and dogs) * How to believe in yourself and to dream * Good deeds bring about good results in return
The story is with a simple rhyming text for children ages 3-8.
This is a story about a little boy with big dreams. He wants, more than anything, to become famous in a big hurry, which presents a seemingly unsurmountable problem: he has no extraordinary skills, nor does he wishes to take the time to practice. He weighs out this possibility and that, only to come out short:
Wait, I know! I will capture a thief and then all will know me, even the Police chief!
At night, he makes a wish upon a star, and I truly enjoy the little wink the author gives you, letting you know that he and you understand each other:
Andrew then closed his little eyes tight he wished and he prayed with all his might, You probably know what he wished for that night but I can't really say if you're wrong or you're right
By the end of the story, Andrew notices two kittens stuck in the tree, and guess what? No one else but him knows that a rope ladder was hidden behind the tree. This, by the way, is plausible only in a flat world of the drawing of the book, because in the real world, people would be gathered around the tree. But no matter. As you expect, Andrew rescues the kittens, and goes home feeling he's done a good deed. When the next morning comes around, he finds himself surprised to learn that his good deed earned him some local fame: his name appears in the newspaper.
Being a purist, I wish that the first letter of each line in this poetic form of a story would be capitalized, as is the classic norm for poems. But for a story being read aloud to your kid, perhaps that does not matter that much. Lovely illustrations, cute rhyme.
Andrew's dream is to be famous. He wants to be on TV and in the news! Andrew's mother tries to tell him that it's not that fun, he'll never be left alone and that he's too young to be in a hurry. Andrew thinks that because he can't dance or play guitar that he doesn't stand a chance. He'll never become famous. He wishes on a shooting star and maybe his dream will come true.
This was a very cute little story. Kids do have very large dreams and sometimes we know that they may seem unrealistic but it's great for kids to dream and dream big. Who knows, maybe what they dream of as a child will come true if they believe in themselves and remain patient. My daughter really liked this one and the rhyming was wonderful. Check this one out for your little dreamers.
I read this with my son and he absolutely loved it! The words flowed easily and it was a fairly short read. For me as a parent, it was wonderful to have a book that dealt with an issue such as "popularity" and being famous. With as many crazy celebrity personalities out and about, it's refreshing to see someone showing that you can in fact be recognized for doing what's good and what's right! My son loved the colors and pictures as well, and he felt that the book was, in his words, "totally awesome"!
Andrew's Claim to Fame, a story in rhyme, has amazing illustrations! Well-written storyline of a 10-year old child who thought of ways to be famous, then one day after sitting a while on a park bench, he finally lives his dream by doing a good deed. Love the part in the book that reads, 'Though it is tough, I can do anything if I want it enough' Little great-nieces excited and ready to order another one by this writer. GREAT JOB!
"Andrew's Claim to Fame" by Idan Hadari is a lovely short children's book in rhyme about Andrew, who would like nothing more than to be famous, but doesn't know how. It is a upbeat story with a great ending that teaches children a lot about being themselves and to believe in themselves. Cute, charming and very well done. Very recommendable.
Read this book with my son, and he liked it quite a lot! He was first a bit surprised someone would like to be famous, but when the story got further, he got the idea what it could be all about and liked the outcome of it. Nice drawings on the pages!
This is a really charming short story for young children. The story line has an effective rhyming flow, and the illustrations throughout the book are extremely good. This story should inspire young children.
This is such a sweet book. The rhyme, the moral of the story everything is fun and well done. The illustration that accompanies it is well done and age appropriate.
