A Shareem walks into a library ... Braden, a level-three Shareem, never thought he’d find anything interesting in a library—that is, until he spies Elisa n’Arell sitting behind a reference desk. When Braden walks into her library, he takes her breath away. He tempts her to put aside her vows for a time and find out what she’s sacrificing.Elisa asks Braden to teach her, and enters a world she’d never known existed. When Braden is asked by his friends to visit the Serestine Quarter library in order to find information about the ships that leave Bor Nargan, he never expected that he would like the librarian that much – especially a librarian who wears celibate's robes.
But Braden likes her voice, her body and the strange words that she uses: equitable, wherewithal etc.
Elisa, the librarian is equally attracted to Braden. She is fascinated with the fact that he is Shareem and she loves the singing sphere that she was given as a gift by him.
Very soon Elisa will take a break from her vows of celibacy and Braden will start “educating” her.
I think this is the funniest story of the series. Although Braden is a typical Level 3 Shareem, he behaves more like a Level 2 Shareem. Maybe because Elisa does not understand levels and she does not behave as she should behave.
Elisa, a librarian on the planet Bor Narga and a virgin who has taken a vow of celibacy, is about to embark on an exciting adventure of self discovery. A discovery of unbelievable sexual ecstasy, of personal growth, of the meaning of devotion and of love. She will meet a Shareem who will change her and her life forever. That Shareem is Braden.
The Shareem were created to be the ultimate sex toys for the ruling women of Bor Narga. On this planet, the women are in control of everything and the general belief is that men are unintelligent and unnecessary for all but the most menial of tasks. The Shareem were created for the rare women who do wish to indulge in sex. Not even officially considered human, they have been bred to be super masculine and sexually irresistible. They are endowed with super-human size, sex drive and physical attributes but believed to be of lower intelligence and incapable of deep emotions, such as love. They are also rendered sterile.
There are three levels of Shareem: Level One was genetically engineered to be nurturing and gentle lovers. Level Two is about fun, sexual games and playful enjoyment. Level Three are the dominant, sexually overpowering, no nonsense masters in the bedroom. But underneath that is the overriding desire to impart care, protection and foster trust. Their ultimate goal is to teach a woman about her sexuality and those deeper attributes that can be developed through it. Braden is Level Three.
There is a good plot with excellent flow throughout the entire story. I was enchanted by Ms. James's ability to lend a magical and engaging charm to her characters and scenes. I also loved that the story is packed with exciting, exotic sex between raging hot women and 'super' men. The sizzling sexual heat in this story is dynamic and propels the plot forward in a compelling way. I found it hard to put this book down and enjoyed the clever weaving of the many layers in this tale into something I was pleased to find was deeper and more profound than it first seemed. I must also say that I had fun with this read and really appreciate the author's sense of humor and instinct in knowing how to give the story a lightness of heart.
This is a stand-alone story, but the sixth in the series. I now own every one of them and Allyson James has a new convert in me! If you too enjoy a fairy tale romance with above average and meaningful depth, then you won't go wrong in reading Braden.
Braden, Braden, Braden... the Shareem who always seemed to be nothing but the fill-in, the third wheel... the one to call to add a little thee some fun in the bedroom, and the ine easily kicked out when the fun was over... it was a position he never seemed to mind... but being a third wheel can get lonely, and deep down you knew Braden wanted more.
Elisa a librarian who takes the vows of celibacy to escape the a dad pathetic idea of marriage becomes just the woman Braden could never hooe ti have let aline have her fall in lovw with him...
With her big sexy words and style of using them Braden becomes fascinated with Elisa and a little nervous when those feels turn to love.
What Ibloved about this story was that Braden was too cute when he go turned on anytime Elisa apoke in a sophisticated way ajd said something like musen't...lol
I also enjoyed how they introduced Justin the Shareem for the next story which should be a good one... I would have just liked more personal moments in the story... it just seemed a little fast.
BRADEN it's the fifth book in the Tales of the Shareem series. Braden is a level three Shareem who is more playful than others of his type. The overarching story of the series is beginning to take shape. The Shareem are making plans to escape their home planet where the are treated as second class citizens. Braden goes to the library to do some research and encounters Elisa the librarian.
As is true of the other books in this series, this book is erotic romance which means that the sex is more graphic and exotic than a normal romance book. As a warning for those who care, there is m/m/f going on here.
I liked this story based on the strength of the romance between Braden and Elisa. He quickly begins to care for her and his struggles against it are a big party of the story even as he is surrounded by examples of living relationships.
Wasn't a favorite, not much of a story-line to this one. I don't mind sex in a book as long as there is a good story to it. I won't be looking for any of he rest of these Shareem books.
"Braden" by Allyson James. Book 5 in the Tales of the Shareem series.
Best book of the series so far! A sci-fi erotica romance telling the tale of Braden, a level three Shareem, and Elisa, a highborn woman who is a follower of the Way of the Sky and a respected celibate. I really enjoyed this book because there is more than more story happening with all the Shareem that actually has nothing to do with erotica. The story lines are just furthering along what the Shareem are trying to do on the world of Bor Narga and a new and interesting character named Justin is introduced with a really good plot twist.
Over and above the erotica elements (m/f sex, m/f/m menage *no m/m in these instances*, bondage and toy play), the story between Braden and Elisa is really romantic! I think the characters are getting more and more in depth as the series continues really giving the characters a personal and caring feel to them.
When Braden decided to do a favour for his buddy Rees, he never expected to meet the woman of his dreams. A highborn female librarian named Elisa, who happens to be a devout celibate. She treated him with respect and now he can't stop thinking about her. So when she calls him to hire him for his "services", he can't believe it's true. Elisa is not sure that she should be following the Way of the Sky. She became a follower to avoid a bad marriage. After receiving a gift from a Shareem she helped in the library, she's intrigued. Why would a Shareem be nice to her? Well she knows why but he knows that she's a celibate and off limits. She still wants to know why he sent her the gift. An why he was looking up confidential information in her library!
Like I said, I really enjoyed the story line in this book. Elisa is the cutest character and what Braden finds that turns him on about her is just to cute. Their chemistry together is (obviously) off the charts but it's their chemistry together when not "in the bedroom" that's really endearing. They really make a cute couple. The added secondary story lines in this book about Justin and what the other Shareem are up to give this book the grounding it needed to further along the series as a whole. It intrigued me to no end to find out what's going to happen next.
Can't wait to read the next installment in this series!
Braden is on a mission. A mission that could get all Shareem killed if discovered. He goes to the library to look up transports information and encounters a pretty librarian who is unfortunately a registered celibate, off-limits especially for Shareem. But he needs her help to get into the restricted databases but wont tell her why. Elisa motives for taking the robes of celibacy were less then pure, and Braden tempts her to put aside her robes for a while and find out what exactly she is sacrificing. Elisa asks Braden to teach her and enters a world that she never known existed, scorching heat and passion that leaves her breathless and wanting more. Braden can't get enough of Elisa but he knows he can't keep her. She is a registered celibate and he and other Shareem are working to get off the planet. Elisa won't give up especially when her and Braden could have a happy life together.
Braden was equally as hot and delicious if not more as the rest of this series.
Love that cover! I started this series here. It's fine on it's own though clearly there are references to prior characters, plots, etc. Futuristic, sci-fi story with social inequities between the genders--girls on top. Anyway, the story itself sort of floundered a bit, stuck in a holding pattern, but I assume the previous books were chock full of goodies from the wrap up in this one. Thus the story is character driven around Elisa, a librarian and Braden, a level 3 Shareem--that's a dominating male sex toy.
Very soft bdsm. Really, kinky sex with some moderate/light D/s.
Downside: Sex scenes were rough/rushed in places and there was a jerky quality to the storytelling. Loved the characters, but would have enjoyed a smoother ride.
Well, my electronic Public Library service "suggested" this to me, and thank you very much! Never heard of this series, but was this short read ever hot!
In this futuristic series, the Shareem of a group of men specifically created to please women, who are superior in the culture. They are "enhanced" in many ways (ok to giggle here), and at all sorts of levels of pleasure Braden is in the category of total barbarian, so I suppose that means the total debauchery package.
Anyway, it's just one big ol' fun sexy read, a kinda short story, and you won't be sorry you read it, if you are into the erotic kinda reading fun. Think I'll check out a few more of these books in the series!
3 1/2 round up to 4. Back to the world of the bio engineered Shareem . We've met Braden in previous stories where he has made an appearance as a stunt dick in some menage scenes. Yea for Braden ! He now gets his own HEA. Enjoying the series. I'm not giving g the series a solid 4 because I would really like some more world building with my hot a smutty SciFi reads. The potential for a full fledged novel with some great SciFi story arcs is here but the emphasis is really on the hot Shareem lovin'. which isn't bad because I like that. I just think it has potential to be so much more and still be panty melting hot. Now on to the next Shareem :)
I have read and enjoyed several of the Shareem books, and this one fits right in. Braden has been involved in the other stories, but now it's his turn to fall in love - with his little librarian, Elisa. Oh yes, Elisa is a registered celibate, too, lol. (If you've read any Shareem books, you'll know that the nature of the Shareem makes this aspect amusing.) Along with the love story, a subplot thickens: Shareem are searching for a way off the planet, so that they can live free lives. There is some repetition in this from the other books, but it's still a super hot love story, and I recommend it to you.
I think the Shareem are my guilty pleasure. I love these stories. The first one caused a bit of eye rolling, but once I got into the story I couldn't help but love these guys. James never ceases to amaze me, taking us somewhere her Shareem haven't yet been, which I didn't think was possible. So this one was fabulous in where it is taking us, it is also the first in the series to really foreshadow the possibilities in the next book (Justin?)
I love Braden's smart ass nature. He's level 3 Dom with a level 2 perchance for fun and games. Elisa comes across as a bit naive, but she's way more astute than Braden is prepared for. I liked how Braden kept trying to protect Elisa, she was always his priority. I loved that Elisa saw through his bull crap and called him on it. It was great seeing her take control and tell Braden how it was going to be and watch him willingly follow. Adult read
Yet another good book in this series although I didn't enjoy it as much as Calder. I love the way the Shareem are progressing and trying to make the best of what they have whilst trying to get themselves out of the situation they are in. I couldn't see how Elisa and Braden were going to make it which made for a more interesting read as well.
I was really enjoying this book until Justin stepped in for a threesome that seemed to have been added in for the sake of a threesome. That particular scene ruined the vibe of the novel, especially because a few pages later, Braden says that he damn well should be the only Shareem Elisa's ever been with. I enjoyed the other books in the series but this one didn't do it for me.
Braden would be the Shareem to fall for a celibate librarian, lol. He gets turned on by the way she speaks and phrases her sentences. Of course it doesn't stop him from wanting to love her any way he can think of. He doesn't think he's good enough for her and it's up to her to show him different. This is the best friend you could have. Enjoy I did. This is a re-read for me.
Non ci vorrebbe un genio a capire che se li inoculano ogni 6 mesi con anticoncezionali, significa che sterili non sono... Comuqnue almeno stavolta non abbiamo avuto il solito percorso, e Justin si presenta come personaggio interessante.
Hate to say it but this series is beginning to bore me. Every book has the same two characters falling in love. Boring. To bad I already bought the next book guess I will have to finish that one to. Sigh....at least the sex is hot even if it is a bit repetitive.
Let me say I love Elisa she seemed so shy and meek. Then BAM Braden the Shareem comes along and she shows her true colors. This is a great addition to the series and I like how Elisa grows and becomes a confident strong woman that can stay by hew Shareem.
Things are heating up with the Shareem. This book made me laugh out loud, gave me a few surprises and made me wish the next book in the series was out! Braden and Elisa are a great couple.
