Nice quick read
I found myself pleading like Oliver Twist, "more, please, sir". This story line cries for extension, the tech-heads among us would eat that up.

Three stories from the ring of Fire/1632 series. Enjoyable short book with engaging characters. It also fills in something I have wondered about. The Ruhr is such an important industrial and mining area, how could it be ignored? It is ignored no longer. Read this one before you read the sequel. Since I have the sequel, I will now follow my own advise.

A good addition to the series
Although it started sore of disjointed, i thought the first part could have had some more. Character development. I got better, I wish it would have had more. I look forward to a sequel

Not bad!
I very much like all of the ring of fire books. This one is about mathematics, something I know little about. Even so, it was very enjoyable.

Very little to do with Essen. Not much new material from the Grantville Gazette articles if any. Not worth 12.99.

To read this you have to understand the 1632 universe . Starting with 1632the book everything just flows from that book . Twenty perhaps thirty now novels and novellas and 90 of the Grantville Gazette

A decent story, but I'm not sure that the "novella as book" is a cost effective addition to the RoF universe.
