After reading the book I put several options strategies to work with great results. It was the best of the three books I read on options trading. The stragegy table in the back of the book is a great reference when trying to match a stragegy to bullish or bearish sentiment.
Most of this book was over my head. If this book really presents the easy explanation, then I am years away from being ready for a normal options book.
Personal opinion of someone who has some basic knowledge: Chapters 1-4: ignore Chapter 5: Synthehic and covered call strategy - ok Chapter 6: Greeks. Also implied volatility. Given how detailed was the book before, now with the more complicated stuff it lacks the detail. Was very simple before, now it is way too difficult, because it lacks more real life examples. Chapters 7-9: Basic strategies. Ok - good thing are the parts saying when to use which and how long time to expiration to set. Chapters 10-11 ignore Chapter 12: self promo of author's paid product.
So overall mediocre, gives some basic explanation but imo some parts are too difficult to understand for pure beginners, quite often give references to paid web pages of the author. Definitely need to buy a book on strategies and implied volatility.
This book covers some basics but rushes on towards advanced concepts. Though there is some explanation, would be hard for a beginner to understand. As well the way things are put across they are not easy to understand either.
A comprehensive must read for anyone looking into or currently trading on the options market. I’ll be using this book as a go to reference moving forward.
For me this book is too theoretical. No actual example in certain market condition based on the experience of the author. Especially nowdays content in this book can be found easily using AI.
The book is fairly theoretical. If you have a basic knowledge of options it reinforces what you've learnt. For individuals who have zero knowledge it is a very good primer.
A great intro to Options trading. Also covers some market basics such as technical analysis. I'm now using the Covered Call strategy for additional income. If you have a self-directed brokerage account, read this book and give it a try.
