Robert Lawrence Stine known as R. L. Stine and Jovial Bob Stine, is an American novelist and writer, well known for targeting younger audiences. Stine, who is often called the Stephen King of children's literature, is the author of dozens of popular horror fiction novellas, including the books in the Goosebumps, Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room and Fear Street series.
R. L. Stine began his writing career when he was nine years old, and today he has achieved the position of the bestselling children's author in history. In the early 1990s, Stine was catapulted to fame when he wrote the unprecedented, bestselling Goosebumps® series, which sold more than 250 million copies and became a worldwide multimedia phenomenon. His other major series, Fear Street, has over 80 million copies sold.
Stine has received numerous awards of recognition, including several Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and Disney Adventures Kids' Choice Awards, and he has been selected by kids as one of their favorite authors in the NEA's Read Across America program. He lives in New York, NY.
Not only is my copy of this book signed by the Master of Children's Horror himself, but it was phenomenal. The best way I can describe the first three books in The Nightmare Room series is a slightly more "mature" version of Goosebumps.
This book is a bind-up of the first three books: Don't Forget Me, Locker 13, and My Name Is Evil. In true Stine fashion, he leaves his readers with the suspenseful chapter endings and messes around with the readers once they move into the next chapter. It's like playing Heads or Tails with the books. You never know if it's going to be a true scare or a false alarm. Some people find that annoying but I find it absolutely provocative and excellent!
Don't Forget Me was an exceptional tale of a house that causes the residents to forget about things. The incidents go from slight to immense, as the target is Peter, Danielle's brother. Slowly, he starts to forget who he is and who his sister is. Eventually, other people in his life forget him, which was the primary reason for dramatic page turning haha.
Locker 13 is the story about Luke Greene who is assigned a locker which houses a supernatural force that controls luck. Little does Luke know that his luck will run out and he must pass the luck onto someone else. This was probably my least favorite of the three...
But then I reached My Name is Evil. This one showcases perfectly just how horrific Stine can be with a children's story. In this story, our main character is a girl named Maggie who, on her thirteenth birthday, visits a fortune teller (who, for some reason I casted Bea Arthur in this role lol) along with her three best friends. Once the fortune teller gets to Maggie, she has a huge fit and shrieks out how evil she is. The scenes in this story are slightly graphic and disturbing. They were wonderful!
Overall I really loved reading this collection! I did read these books a very long time ago, when they first came out. But I did forget about them (looks like I lived in the Forget-Me House) as I grew older. It almost feels like I'm reading them for the first time.

An author who doesn't dumb down every aspect of their writing even though it's for children? *gasps* How scandalous! Just kidding. Now I know why he's so famous for these books. I've read his books before but in my native language so I didn't know how good he actually was. It's nice to know his writing is actually really smooth and fun to read. This collection was such a blast!
I love horror, expetially R.L. Stnes storys. My class read the first of the Nightmare Room Triligy, and I have the second at home. There are several charicters, and several twists and turns, that keep you wonting to read more.
This book is very scary because a girl named Addie was alone and out of nowhere someone comes and touches her. She thinks its Peter, but it is not him, its Mrs. Anderson. It made me feel scared too.
I remember reading this as a kid. I thought it was the smartest and scariest thing I`ve ever read. Guess it was just the beginning of my interest in horror/mistery books.
