'Why must the dog chase the cat...nothing but the dog in me...'
Sparkle Davis is wifey to Sayveon Travis, a local drug trafficker. These two have weathered many storms due to Sayveon having a hard time saving all his love for her. Sparkle constantly finds herself trying to outsmart him and gain control of Sayveon and his doggish ways. Can the love of a good woman and child make a playa turn in his playa card...or does he get even slyer with his various sexual trysts? Will Sparkle throw in the towel as she fights for her own peace of mind versus fidelity from her fiance? Or will she swallow her pride and accept life as it is for financial security and having a piece of a man and a semblance of a family for their daughter? Will a good woman allow a bad man to sour her reputation as she must decide if she's fighting for her man or just fighting the local chickenhead for a lost cause?
Trifling is an entertaining read that introduces intriguing characters that will disgust you one minute and have you lol within seconds. Ms. Luckett did a good job as far as character development and consistency. Trifling is a panoramic picture of how 'the life'and how it consists of money, risks, lying, infidelity, egotism, arrogance and endless, meaningless sex, and betrayal. Although this didn't have an original vibe within the plot, interesting characters spoke volumes as they lulled you with each outrageous scenario.
