In a dark world full of hatred, betrayal, and absolute chaos the question at hand is--- are you able to play your role and withstand the drama from the streets?
THIS BOOK WAS OFF THE CHAIN! HAD A LOT OF DRAMA CHEATING & STRAIGHT DISRESPECT. SPARKLE IS ONE HELL OF A CHICK TO PUT UP WITH HER BABY DADDY / FIANCE SAYVEON & HIS CHEATING WAYS W/ ALL HIS SIDE PIECES BUT SHE HELD HIM DOWN THROUGH IT ALL EVEN WENT TO JAIL FOR BEATING HIS SIDE PIECE ON THE SIDE WHO IS PREGNANT W/ SAYVEON 3RD CHILD UNTIL HE PUSHED HER INTO THE ARMS OF A CHILDHOOD FRIEND. IM GLAD THAT SPARKLE SISTER STEPHANIE GOT HER SELF TOGETHER & THEY BOTH WAS ABLE TO MEND THEIR RELEATIONSHIP. THE END OF THE BOOK REALLY GOT TO ME WITH ALL THE SECRETS THAT FINALLY CAME OUT OF THE CLOSET...THE TITLE REALLY WAS ON POINT WITH THE STORY
Why?!?!?! This is the 3rd book I have read by Jennifer Luckett and I'm starting to think she loves to write about these no good, trifling dudes that make your stomach turn with their actions and ways of thinking. After reading I'm ready to just stay by myself for fear of running into someone like Sayveon. This was one messy book and most of the drama spilled out at the end of the book, just when you thought what other skeletons could be hiding. Even with my stomach hurting I must press on to part 2.
I have to give 3 stars. I mean it's a typical read with typical situations, except for Sayveon's situation with his sister. Now that's just gross but that's his karma with his dumb ass 😆😆😆 So basically this girl Sparkle was very stupid by continuously allowing this dude to play her. I am happy she wised up though but now it don't look like she'll ever get rid of Sayveon smh now she pregnant again. Sayveon stick that thang in anybody. His karma wasn't enough for me. I love hard-core karma. Make him pay for a life time. Give him something he can't get rid of at all. Now that's some karma! Just don't let Sparkle be the one to had caught it. 1 thang I hate is a dog. Now this book did not move me or keep me on edge like most of my books I read. I love books that's hard to put down. This book is called Trifling. Yes Sayveon is a Trifling dude true enough but by the title alone, I expected it to be about something else, like maybe a friend betraying her homegirl and somebody died behind it or something like that. I tell you what tho. I'm go check out part 2 but if it don't move me I'm done, and forget parts 3&4. My attention span short. That's why I have ADHD. I lose interest and move around fast!
It’s been a minute since I read a book that had me all in. I enjoyed the storyline glad Sparkle was able to find some type of peace of did she because I’m sure this little surprise will have some cons to her pros. Boy Sayveon has a lot to deal with , the family drama, I don’t think it over regarding the street beef, and on top of that Carmen’s news and Nakia the women issues are bout to pile up. Can’t wait to read book 2
I really enjoyed Trifling 1. I downloaded the series for free. I shared it on my Shades of Pink Social Book Club Page for others to download. I sure hope you took advantage. Ready for part 2.
Sparkle reminded me of myself, in younger days. I had me a man like that, left him after he cheated. I was glad she best fown the skank. She deserves better.
This woman's man is a dog he will sleep with any chick any where anytime, she had so many fights with women over him she even went to jail for fighting over him, now he found out that this chick that he slept with is his half sister that he didn't even know about and she is pregnant by him, and his ex fiance that has a new man is pregnant by him also
'Why must the dog chase the cat...nothing but the dog in me...'
Sparkle Davis is wifey to Sayveon Travis, a local drug trafficker. These two have weathered many storms due to Sayveon having a hard time saving all his love for her. Sparkle constantly finds herself trying to outsmart him and gain control of Sayveon and his doggish ways. Can the love of a good woman and child make a playa turn in his playa card...or does he get even slyer with his various sexual trysts? Will Sparkle throw in the towel as she fights for her own peace of mind versus fidelity from her fiance? Or will she swallow her pride and accept life as it is for financial security and having a piece of a man and a semblance of a family for their daughter? Will a good woman allow a bad man to sour her reputation as she must decide if she's fighting for her man or just fighting the local chickenhead for a lost cause?
Trifling is an entertaining read that introduces intriguing characters that will disgust you one minute and have you lol within seconds. Ms. Luckett did a good job as far as character development and consistency. Trifling is a panoramic picture of how 'the life'and how it consists of money, risks, lying, infidelity, egotism, arrogance and endless, meaningless sex, and betrayal. Although this didn't have an original vibe within the plot, interesting characters spoke volumes as they lulled you with each outrageous scenario.
"Trifling" truly lived up to it's name because the characters in this book were most definitely TRIFLING. Honestly, there were times that I felt the they were just too much for me to even deal with. They were so ignorant when it came to the way they spoke, their actions , and their thoughts on certain topics. Sayveon was an absolute mess and had me wanting to jump through the book and knock him upside the head. He didn't care about Sparkle or their daughter and he justified his cheating ways in his head. Sparkle was stuck being the stereotypical wifey/baby momma who was so in love that she allowed Sayveon to use her repeatedly. Throughout the book I was hoping that Sparkle smartened up and Im kind of happy about the way she ended but I'm still hoping that she makes some major changes. I didnt expect the twist at the end and after the shocking discovery I started to really get into the book. Overall, Triflin played out like a Tyler Perry play, it was fast paced and interesting. I have so many unanswered question and I really want to find out how Sayveon and Sparkle are going to handle their situations so I'm looking forward to reading part 2.
I am still shaking my head over the events that went down in this book " Trifling" by Jennifer Luckett! Sayveon is a drug dealer who wants to have his cake and eat it too. In other words, he's a player who expects his fiance, Sparkle, to wait on him while he sows his wild oats and continues to cheat on her. Sparkle is in denial until the unexpected happens. This book is just Trifling all the way around!
"Trifling" had me ready to hop into the book and shake some sense into both Sparkle AND Sayveon! Drama, drama, drama from beginning to end! Can't wait to see what goes down in part 2! Be sure to check out this urban soap opera! 5 stars!
Everything about this story was exactly that, trifling! Sparkle in the beginning really got on my nerves falling for the go 'round with Sayveon. She needed to grow up and fast. Sayveon was a real low down dog that was knocking anything he could get his rocks off with. The mess with Pops in FL I thought was crazy but when the truth came out I understood. Then to find out the real deal about Carmen was even dirtier! Keepin' it? WTF? Stephanie seems to be coming along but I doubt it will last. I really want to read about Sparkle now with the ending, I'm guessing those knocks upside the head from Sayveon won't matter now. The way she ran up on him then to him says a lot and Ontavious seems like a really good guy but I doubt he'd go for her nonsense. Can't wait to read the next one.
This book was about a man name Sayveon who was a hot mess. He was a drug dealer that didn't know how to keep his thing in his pants. Trying to maintain his family at home with other women in the streets. Sparkle was Sayveon's fiance who was constantly catching him in his was, she was getting real tired of him as she was playing he wifey roll. Then it took her to sitting in jail thinking about her situation. She was so in love with him that it took her a while to figure out what she was going to do. I'm not going to spoil the book but it's filled with drama, lies, deceit, and lust. This was for sure a page turner so 1-click you will enjoy it.
This book was trifling and messy. I knew something was up with Pop's trifling ass. Mama V was something else though. lol Sayveon got everything he deserved and I am praying Sparkle moves on. there's a little obstacle in her way now but hope her new boo helps her make the right decision. Oh wait but he has other issues with Carmen don't he, awe wait and that Nakia drama drama drama. Wow his Pops, his moms, his step moms and his step dad what a circle. Sparkle needs to stay away from that. Can't wait for part 2
The title of this book lived up to its name! I am really feeling Jennifer Luckett's books. She is killing it! Sayveon is like the typical simple minded male. He thinks that since he is on, that he can do as he pleases while his main female..lets him! Sparkle had another trick up her sleeve, because she got fed up, but will she go back to him is the question????
Once again Jennifer Luckett wrote a book I couldn't put down. The main characters Sayveon and Sparkle were a train wreck waiting to happen. Sayveon was the ultimate dog when it came to women. Sparkle was his ride or die chick that needed to just let him make the ride by himself. They had a crazy relationship that neither one wanted to let go. Would recommend this book.
I don't understand why sparkles stay with sayveon or even let him hit raw. Dude is straight nasty and trifling for real. The hospital scene uh huh chile that some nasty shit right there. I stay up till 3am just to finish this book boy I'm glad I did lol. Damn the end ing is fuck up as hell but good as hell.
I enjoyed this book. This is my first time reading this author's work. All I can say is that I never want to meet a man like Sayveon!! The secrets that came out towards the end had me baffled....on to part 2!! I see this series already has 4 books....not happy about that!! It's getting ridiculous to carry on a book that long!!
Sayveon did the most! His hind parts should have been grass a long time ago!! I shook my head as Sparkle clowned all these other females but her man was the one cheating on her and he got a cussing and that's it... (side eye ladies)
this book was the bomb. I really enjoyed reading this .I have read many books but this is only the second book I gave a 5 star to.if u like street hood books then this is for u.
I enjoyed reading this book although for a few pages or so if felt as if the story was dragging a bit. It was a good read though and I will be reading the sequel!
