Katrina Rawlings the hot sexy strong vampire and her mate Caleb Taylor always seem to find trouble well at least Caleb does. This time the couple travels to Slovenia to help their friend Alton who was holding a summit for all vampires for them to discuss all the problems they either had with other vampires or humans. When they get there they find out that Paige (another hot vampire who is also Caleb's surrogate vampire) is working at the hotel that Alton just happens to own. The summit is also happening there and boy is everyone in for a long vacation. When Katrina is asked to help Alton by joining the summit that leaves Caleb to wonder around and get into trouble like he always does. Then they learn that Alton has chosen a human to be his mate her name is Dori. Since Alton and Katrina are both busy during the day with the summit Dori and Caleb wonder about town sightseeing they come across something awkward with a important vampire, the local police of course they have to investigate not knowing what they were getting themselves into. That's when stuff starts to get interesting if you ask me. Who will live through this trip? Katrina, Caleb and Paige all have one thing in common which is someone tries to kill them! Will they all survive?
I was given this book by the author to review. I was sooo happy to get this book! I was so anxious to get it when it finally arrived I torn the box apart trying to get it. I was like a little kid at Christmas. When I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. There was so many parts that I was literally on the edge of my seat reading really fast waiting to find out what was going to happen! This series is amazing! Jaz sure does know how to write a great series! This book just came out and I already want the next one! You will enjoy this book, this series! Trust me! :)
I believe that this is the best Sunset Vampire Series novel in the series thus far. Of course, I did write the novel, after all. *wink* I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it...
Caleb Taylor and Katrina Rawlings have finally settled down into a semi-normal, living together relationship. As normal as it can be for a human, Caleb, and a vampire, Katrina to get that is. Caleb and Kat (as Caleb calls her) have had a rocky relationship up to this point, what with a centuries old alpha vampire trying to kill Kat, then on vacation in London a small sect of vampires trying to kill Caleb.
Caleb and Kat are just trying to get on with life as mates and enjoy time with Kat’s best friend and Caleb’s surrogate vampire, Paige. Paige plans on moving to the Atlanta area close to Kat and Caleb just as soon as she finishes an assignment out of the country she already agreed to do. In the mean time, Kat’s oldest friend and mentor, Alton Rutherford is trying to get the couple to come to Slovenia for a first ever vampire summit. Kat is reluctant but when strange vampires keep threatening Caleb in order to get him to convince her not to go, its game on.
At the conference they learn that Paige’s assignment is actually as security for the conference, so the gang is together again. Of course, things can never go as planned, Caleb gets suspicious of the activities of one of the members of the summit and he and another human mate decide to do some undercover work to try to find out what is going on. Welcome to the world of alpha vampires, human mates, vampire politics, murder and mayhem.
This is the third installment in Mr. Primo’s vampire series and, in my opinion, the best so far. The characters have developed into a well rounded group of people, each with their own personality and their own story to tell. Caleb is getting used to his role as Kat’s mate and all that it entails. Bless his heart; he just can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble, no matter how hard he tries. He has a rebellious streak in him and doesn’t always make the best decisions but he does try. His love for Kat is everything to him and he builds his life around that.
Kat, on the other hand, has worked very hard to reign in some of her alpha tendencies, not always succeeding but she is trying. She has her hands full trying to keep Caleb out of trouble while working with Alton at the summit and relies heavily on Paige to help her out. Maybe she shouldn’t, Paige is another alpha and has more than a small crush on Caleb. We see a lot more of Paige in this book and I enjoyed her. To be honest, I like Paige more than I do Kat, Kat scares me more than a little bit. Paige makes me laugh, she is brazen and fun loving; my kind of gal.
We meet some new characters in this book, too many to name, but I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of Dr. Ethan Reynolds (a vampire) and Dorianne Rousseau (Alton’s mate). I liked both of them, and look forward to possibly getting to know them better in the future. We meet more of the vampire community, some good, some bad, and all creatures to be wary of.
I have to admit I do have a few very small issues with this series. While I know Kat and Paige are alpha females, the way they treat Caleb gets on my nerves at times. They treat him like he’s a child more often than not; of course he allows it so I guess it’s not all their fault. I just want to say “grow a pair” every once in awhile, but then I guess that might be the alpha in me coming out. I know it’s the role reversal that’s getting to me; it’s almost as if Kat is the man and Caleb the woman (and not a woman I would like by the way).
Other than that one little issue, I enjoyed this book and look forward to more in the series. It’s not necessary to read the first two books before you read this one, but it wouldn’t hurt. There is some violence here, Kat and Paige both like a good fight but not too much to worry about. There is fade to black kind of sex, you never actually see it, but you know it’s happened.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys strong women, a good mystery, and a few good bar fights, a good romance and even a little slap stick humor thrown in.

Summit at Sunset is the third book in this wonderful series, and is what I will be reviewing here. But first, I must mention my first glimpse of this fabulous series was Jaz Primo's Sunrise at Sunset, followed by A Bloody London Sunset shortly after.
Katerina Rawlings, her persona in this era, is a 500 year old Alpha Vampire. For the opening of the first book, Kat had decided life was not worth existing and decided to meet the sun at dawn. As she started to burn, she changed her mind and pulled her burned body to a small building and hid under a tarp that covered a car. This is where eight year old Caleb wanders into the building and changes both of their lives.
Twenty years later her obsession with Caleb continues and she `meets' him by signing up for his course at the local college where he is now a professor of history. With history as a topic, Caleb has met his match. He has no idea she is the `angel' he remembers from his childhood, and they fall in love. This is no ordinary vampire story. We have a strong alpha female vampire and her human mate.
Paige is introduced as Kat's best friend another alpha-female vampire. She is given the task of being Caleb's surrogate protector. Katrina is obsessed with the protection of Caleb and as a male he does not take this lying down. He studies martial arts and uses weights to gain his own personal strength. The trip to London in a Bloody London Sunset is to visit Anton who is Katrina's mentor. The trip becomes an adventure of sightseeing, murder and intrigue with Caleb becoming ensconced into the center of it. .
Each book has an acceptable ending for the storyline and another door opening for the plot line to continue. The Summit of the Vampires is planned for the following year by Anton and this is where Summit at Sunset takes us. Off we fly to a hotel in Slovenia.
Mr Primo has written sharp, intense and well plotted stories. The characters and relationships are growing and changing as life changes for us all. Katrina is trying to temper her fears and let Caleb get out of that glass bubble she would like him to be under. He is not a wimp and is trying to learn and hold his own in this fearsome vampire world. Paige Turner his `babysitter' and little sister is trying to come to terms for what she is feeling for Caleb; as he has become so important to her... maybe too much. I am thinking maybe the entry of Dr Ethan Reynolds into her life might be the answer.
The detective work and trouble Caleb managed to get into in this third story was fun, interesting, scary and showed the followers of this series his growth as he took charge of his beliefs as Katrina and Anton were busy with the Summit. He is truly testing himself and pushing himself further with each story.
Katrina and Caleb's relationship, like all, have had ups and downs, with Katrina not telling him about their original meeting while he was a child. The `sin of omission' is still a lie. But they are very committed to each other and the promise is there that he might make a great vampire has been hinted. I do not know what the future holds but I am hooked on seeing where this series goes.
Kudos Jaz Primo

My review to Summit At Sunrise, Beware has some Spoilers, did not block because I felt people should read my reivew ! I have just finished reading Summit At Sunset. "TO BE BRUTALLY HONEST "Uuuuhhh... WOW! 381 pages of jammed packed action from start to finish the book is a rush of excitement and tense action. The book brought two thoughts to my mind. 1) The action was pushed to the limit 2) the characters were really pushing their boundaries! As always the vampires are overprotected and on high alert on the human companions. The humans, of course, proved they could handle their own. It was really great to see the characters coming through so vividly in my mind with Jaz Primo’s creative writing! It just flows! It was like he was painting the picture before me. I loved it! I especially loved the scripted inner thoughts of each character that was described. It really brought depth into the emotion of the character! Great thinking! I was interested in the vampire politics, in the end I felt Caleb was the wiser one of them all. One of my favorite parts of the book was the Caleb and Paige got trapped in the vault. The forbidden broken rule... I was on edge. Another was believe it or not was the UV light bulbs in Caleb and Katrina's suite. I thought that was really devious!! And of course the heroic scene, when Caleb threw the suitcase and killing Dubravko. I was very happy to see new love interests with Alton and Paige!! The new addition to The Sunset Vampire Series again did not disappoint! Again, jam packed action from beginning to end. I had a knot in my stomach through the whole time reading the book and needless to say I can finally breathe! This was really worth the wait, but as a reader, I know we would have to wait to see what else comes out of Jaz’s mind into paper. I have a feeling he has more up your sleeve, and I for one, cannot wait to see what plays out in the future! So now the waiting will continue to see the next adventure Jaz Primo will be taking readers to.

I had a hard time deciding on what to rate this book, teetering between good and great on my scale, so as with baseball, tie goes to the runner. There are a lot of little elements in this book that make me appreciate it so much as a whole.
First, I love that Caleb is always getting into things her shouldn't be getting into. I can't tell you how many stories I have read where the woman is always sticking her head in places it shouldn't be and then big bad man comes and saves the day. It's so refreshing to see the tides turned a little, and see Caleb to be the one who isn't always following the rules and ending up where he shouldn't be.
Paige is a great character as well. Honestly she provides for a lot of the comic relief in the book. Kat is very much the hard ass, and knows how to get her scary on more than most. So with Paige you have kind of a balance since Paige isn't nearly as serious. The two of them make for a great dynamic in the story and it's a lot of fun for readers too.
I like books like this that kind of get the supernatural community together for a pow wow, it always makes for a fun time because there is always so much more going on beneath the surface, and you get to experience the culture of the supernatural society. Both things are great experiences for the reader.
Overall, I think this is a really good book. I think anyone who enjoys urban fantasy is going to really enjoy this book. I think paranormal romance readers will enjoy it as well, but it doesn't have a lot of the more graphic scenes that some of the PNRs have. That being said I would still recommend it!
wonderful book, these tales just get better and better! Story flowed really well and one cannot help but cheer on a bit as caleb took a few mattes into his own hands on what was supposed to be a vacation of sots at a hotel in Slovenia, where his vampire mate katrina attends a summet held by her friend and mentor alton to discuss issues arising in the vampie community at large. Through the efforts of both caleb and another vampires mate a plot to ruin the summet is discovered. choices are made and danger is never far. we also find that paige's mysterious contract job is being part of the summet's security. She saves caleb quiet a few times during the event while struggling with personal feelings, she also meets a certain dr ethan, who i think will become a good character for future books. This serieskeeps a hook for sure. To be brutally honest, Jaz you'rea wonderful ad capivating author.
I am totally addicted & love this series!! Each one continues to amaze me while getting better & better!!! This was my absolute favorite of the three books so far! How can you go wrong with so much action, romance, & comedy along with a tiny bit of despair, hatred, reconciliation, & tons of fun!?!?! :) Caleb, Katrina, Paige, & Alton have intrigued me from the get go, but I adore how Kat & Caleb's relationship continues to grow! All of the new characters are fascinating as well. ;*) It was interesting to see Caleb's relationships with his newest acquaintances & friends play out. I can't wait to read more about them all! Dr. Ethan is sure to add plenty to this fabulous tale! Bring on the next! :D I just can't get enough! So....when will the next one be out??!!?? =D
I was lucky enough to receive Summit at Sunset for review and the second it was in my hands I began reading it. Once again, Jaz Primo has created a book that is full of thrills, mystery, and some romance. He has successfully humanized each of the vampires from this fantastic series to make them more relatable and likable for the readers. What I enjoyed the most about Summit at Sunset was the fact that Paige was such a large part of the storyline. I couldn't get enough of her scenes with both Caleb and Katrina and I felt that giving Paige a potential love interest was a smart move. I hope that Paige will play such a big part in future books and I am eagerly awaiting the release of book 4!
This book was the best out of the three, however the ending just left things hanging, if there is another book I would like to see if things get better from here.

It was better than the first and second book, the author made some advanve with characters and we immerse ourselves more in the story and the vampire world.
This book happens to be one of my favorite of the series! I love the action and I love the characters. The world laid out before you just continues to impress and intrigue! Great book!
