Then you’ll love this sweet mystery with its pet psychologist, Caro Lamont, investigating her neighbor’s murder amid the opening of the newest cat paintings at California hot spot, Laguna Beach. You’ll meet her murdered neighbor’s long lost sister straight from the heartland and together they are a hoot as they try to track down the killer.

It was just "o.k.". Sorry, can't think of anything more imaginative to say, just blah. I certainty like the "Melanie" books better than the "Caro" books. I guess I like the "Melanie" character better, as she is more real, believable, and funny, and the "Caro" character just gets on my last nerve, lol. Yes, I know I don't do professional sounding reviews, but I'm a nurse, not an English teacher or writer, but y'all, I know what I like, and most certainly what I don't!

I admit that I did not have very high expectations when I received this book in the mail. A Pampered Pets Mystery. Sounded like fun but not a great piece of literature. Kitty Kitty Bang Bang is the third in a series by the writing team of Anita Carter (Sparkle is her rescue cat) and Mary Lee Woods (Abbey is her rescue dog) which feature former pscyhologist-turned pet therapist Caro Lamont, who solves mysteries in-between bouts of therapy with anxious, over pampered animals in the celebrity- and wealthy-infested area of Laguna Beach. By a team from Iowa. Hmmmm, I thought. I was pleasantly surprised. The team have won other awards, individually, for their mystery writing, and the writing is very fun to read and the reader immediately is drawn in to the world of yorkies in smoking jackets, expensive restaurants and publicity-driven people, whether we are ready or not. Caro is attending an exhibit of paintings by the famous cat painting twins--"by this, I didn't mean human siblings who paint portraits of cats. I mean two cats who paint. Bengal cats, Tobey and Minou, to be specific." So we enter the strange world of Laguna Beach. Caro is attending with her neighbor, a publicist named Kitty Bardot (homage to famous animal-lover Brigette?) and owner of the said cat pair. Kitty later turns up shot, and the plot thickens when an unknown sister adopted at birth, April Mae (you can call me June), a blonde pixie dynamo of energy, turns up the day afterwards looking for Kitty. The two join forces in searching for who might be the killer--an art lover? Kitty's publicist partner, who has a "secret life"? Even the Russian mafia come into play. Ready to help the plot along are Caro's handsome friend Sam and aloof and attractive police officer Judd Malone. The result is a fun romp through a world unfamiliar to most of us, written in a very humorous and playful style that is never too much. This is a perfect beach read for summer and I am looking forward to reading the other three in the series.

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang by Sparkle Abbey
4 STARS

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang is book three in the Pampered Pets Mystery.

Caro Lamont—pet therapist—and her cousin Melinda Langston—owner of The Bow Wow Boutique
pamper the kitties and pooches of Laguna Beach’s elites. Unfortunately, their human clients keep turning up dead.

The stories have been about one cousin then the next one is the other cousin so far.
Caro Lamont neighbor and friend Kitty Bardot asked her to take her cats Tobey and Minou home after their art showing a emergency had come up. Kitty's cats are painters they also are Bengal cats.

Caro on her way home see's a car wreck and she realizes its Kitty's car. She gets Sam to stop. As she hurries up to the car police detective Judd Malone stops her and then tells her to go home. Do not take the cats in Kitty's house and to stay out of her house.

Later Malone stops by Caro's house to tell her that she was shot and did not make it. To stay out of it. Caro got into trouble while she solved one murder of her human clients.

The next day while she is feeding Kitty's cats thier is a knock on the door. Kitty long lost sister has come to see her. They were seperated in foster care. April Mae Wooben has searched for 15 years and she finally finds her too late.

This is a clean read. I did not guess who the murder was. Thier is lots of action, drama and so much humor.
Caro and Melinda are fueding over a ugly pin that thier grandma left in her will to her favorite granddaughter. They both think it is them. They go to a lot of trouble to steal it back and forth between each other. Everyone around them know it too.
I have enjoyed reading the Pampered Pets Mysteries and will look forward to the next one. If you like humor, mysteries and animals you will love this series.
I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of the book by Netgalley.

In this third novella of the 'A Pampered Pets Mystery' series, the author has us laughing, shocked, following along on chase scenes out of a Hollywood blockbuster movie, and still wondering 'Why?' until the ending when all is disclosed.

Pet therapist, Caro Lamont, has a bustling practice in Laguna Beach, California. Business is up, and Caro has a love interest, that she is interested in, and except for her cousin, Melinda who keeps stealing their Grandmother's broach, life is good.

Then the unthinkable happens, Caro's next door neighbor, a sought after Publicist and owner of two Bengal painting cats, is murdered. Caro finds herself aiding the homicide detective and trying to keep a watch on the Publicist's newly found Sister, as she tries to keep herself safe from the killer. Why are they attacking Caro? Caro wants to know as well.

This book is a laughing homicide. The Sister is inspired. Yes, she has a name but that would spoil a classic comic moment if I disclosed it, so I won't.

This is a novella and a quick read. Take it with you on your commute or to the beach. Be sure to give it as a gift to a friend, or someone you have just met at a restaurant, after you have finished both the book and your meal. You will make life long friends and mystery readers. Enjoy!

Because Sparkle Abbey are friends, I am not surprised to find that their Pampered Pet Mysteries are highly enjoyable. If you like your mysteries cozy with memorable characters who find themselves in humorous situations, you will love this series. This is the third. The fourth, Yip, Tuck came out recently and that is on my to be read list.

This series started with Desperate Housedogs and then Get Fluffy. They are currently working on 50 Shades of Greyhound and The Girl with the Dachshund Tatoo.

Set in Laguna Beach, this series is co-written by Marylee Woods and Anita Carter. Marylee writes the even numbered books while Anita writes the odd numbered ones.

Each writes from a different protagonists point of view. The two protagonists are cousins and former beauty queens from Texas. One is a pet psychologist while the other owns a pet boutique. When they are not involved with their clients pets, they are squabbling over their grandmother's brooch that she left to her favorite grand daughter but failed to say who it was.

Always a good time. You must check out this series.

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang is another clever romp from the Sparkle Abbey ladies. I enjoy coming back to Laguna Beach to the two cousins feuding over their grandmother's brooch and I always know I'll get a good story from them. In this outing, pet therapist Caro Lamont's next-door neighbor Kitty Bardot, a prominent publicist, is shot after an exhibit of paintings done by her two Bengal cats. When Kitty's long-lost sister, April Mae (but you can call me June) shows up, Caro once again gets roped into solving a crime. April Mae is a delightful supporting character and the pages sparkle whenever she shows up. I just wish we'd seen more of Caro's pet therapy -- more cats and dogs, please!

"Kitty Kitty Bang Bang" which I won from Goodreads Giveaways is a delightful and humorous tale set in ritzy Laguna Beach where all the elite own kitties, pooches or both. In this story the heroine Caro Lamont, a pet therapist, has been asked by her neighbour Kitty Bardot if she'll take home her two hybrid Bengal cats because she has urgent business. What Caro doesn't expect is that Kitty will be killed and that she will become embroiled in her mysterious death. Into this baffling case is plunged a long lost sister who's endowed with a touch of larceny as well as Tobey and Minou, Kitty's artistic cats. In this world of the rich and famous, the arrogant and proud, Caro's investigation may not only jeopardize her life , but Kitty's sister's as well, much to the consternation of Detective Judd Malone.
And if the murder mystery wasn't enough to titillate the reader's interest, Sparkle Abbey has added a feud between Caro and her cousin Melinda Langston, the owner of the Bow Wow Boutique over the ownership of an antique brooch that both want.
I loved the characters whose personalities come alive in the pages of this story; the dedicated and determined Caro Lamont who finds herself in a clash of wills with the stern police detective Judd Malone, the good-natured, eccentric April-Mae-You-Can-Call-Me June, the devious Melinda, and the calm and caring Sam Gallanos. I was captivated by the chemistry between Caro and Malone while she still seems enamoured by the handsome Sam Gallanos; both romances worth watching. This charming tale with its multiple layers of cats and dogs, its humorous pokes at the lifestyle of Laguna Beaches' elite has an unexpected ending and I can't wait to read another in the series. I highly recommend it.

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang: Pampered Pets Mystery Book 3
Read in chronological order.

The Protagonist: Caro Lamont, former beauty queen, former psychologist turned pet therapist and amateur sleuth.

The Plot: Kitty Bardot publicist to the stars, owner of two Bengal painting cats, and Caro's neighbour and friend is murdered. Caro was keeping out of the investigation until Detective Judd Malone asks Caro to watch over Kitty's long lost sister April-May.

Hilarious. I was laughing out loud. The introduction of Kitty's sister is a brill. Caro's burglary is funny. The end is super: Just when you think it's not possible to keep the cousins (Caro and Mel) ongoing brooch saga fresh we're left with a cliffhanger.

Well written, entertaining and a pacy page-turner. Highly recommended.

First time to read this author. I found the writing well done, plot unusual and interesting, descriptions of characters and animals good. The story did not flow together easily.
This was the third in the series and previous events were not explain. Some did not related to the theme. No reason for the domestic violence or the fainting gats. Two chapters of the two previous books are included.

I really like this series. The level of humor is just right and the main character, Caro, is not as ditzy as most cozy mystery heroines tend to be. I hope there are many more "Pampered Pets" stories to follow.

I enjoyed this fun quirky mystery. A murder mystery and animals what more could you want? The characters are fun and I love the long running fight over the brooch, each book is set around one of two cousins as they each solve a mystery. This does mean each book is a stand alone story and the cases get solved, the only exception is to who has the brooch at the end of the book. As the cover shows it is a humorous story and a lot of fun. The mystery is good and has a number of suspects. All in all a fun series.
Caro is attending an art gallery with a differences, all the works of art are painted by cats. The owner of the cats is Carl's neighbour kitty and when she has to leave early she asks Caro to take the two stars of the show home. On the way home she is shocked to come across a car accident and even more to find out her neighbour died in the crash. When kitty's newly found sister April May turns up the pair start to investigate. Well April May does, Caro just tags along to keep her safe, honest.
I liked the voices the narrator gave the characters all except April May she was a bit squeaky for my liking.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request by audiobookunleashed and have voluntarily left this review.

Ok, the second book in this series left me a little cold, it was predictable and though there were twists and turns, in my opinion it was all a little bit too obvious, so I approached the third book in the series a little bit warily.

I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised though, for while I am usually pretty good at working out these mysteries, I didn’t put it all together until the last few chapters. Now I’m not saying it was a complicated mystery, I think it was actually the opposite. The reason I didn’t work it out was more due to the style of writing and without giving to much away I would say it was a bit of hiding in plain sight.

In this book the authors had so much going on auxiliary to the plot that I was distracted and I didn’t notice the villain until all of the minor plots had been resolved. I found this both enjoyable and interesting as it made the characters more relatable and also provided a bit of insight into their motivations, which I think is important when you are reading a series.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a light hearted read and animals. It is humorous and enjoyable.

Admittedly I feel silly for loving this series - but I just can’t help it. This is book 3 of the series and I read the first two a few months ago, I grabbed this from the library this last weekend because with the absolute shit show of the world right now I needed a break from heavy.
Murder mysteries don’t seem like they would be light hearted but these are. They’re fast and easy reads and I just appreciate the fact that I can get lost in the story quickly, read it with little to no effort, and feel relaxed.
It isn’t going to be for everyone, and it certainly won’t be the next ACOTAR or other booktok/TOME series, but I really do love this series for everything it is and for everything it isn’t.

I really wanted to like this books. It strikes me as similar to the stephanie plum books, but with a pet therapist from Laguna beach. My problem with the book is that it has a ton of fashion references for a Laguna beach society. That's not something I know much about or am interested in and it overwhelmed the story for me. I'm sure it would be a great book for someone else. It's just not the book for me.

This is just a good, fun light series. I really like the main character Caro Lamont, pet therapist. However, in this book she does not work with animals as much as she helps April Mae find out who killed April's long lost sister. Her involvement in the mystery makes sense because Detective Malone asks for her to keep an eye on April Mae. April Mae is a fun character and I am guessing that she will remain Caro's neighbor and might be involved in more books.

Book Summary: Caro Lamont—pet therapist—and her cousin Melinda Langston—owner of The Bow Wow Boutique—pamper the kitties and pooches of Laguna Beach’s elites. Unfortunately, their human clients keep turning up dead.

Detective Judd Malone looked past me. "Are those the cats?"
I nodded.
"What kind are they? They’re huge."
"They’re Bengal cats. Bengals are a hybrid. A cross between a domestic cat and an Asian Leopard Cat. It’s a relatively new breed. Most have . . ." Malone’s face said TMI. Fair enough, more info than he’d been looking for.
"I imagine you know I’m here about Ms. Bardot?" Malone was suddenly all business.
"Yes." I held my breath and hoped for good news.
"Caro." He paused. "She didn’t make it."
"She—" I felt my throat close, and I swallowed hard trying to get control of my emotions. "Too many injuries?" I finally asked. Whatever her emergency had been, it had seemed to upset her. She’d been shaken, and Kitty was never shaken. I remembered her voice as she’d asked me to take care of Tobey and Minou and get them home. The cats. What would happen to the cats now? "Was she driving too fast?"
"Not exactly." Malone’s voice was serious and grim. "We won’t know until we have a lot more information from the crime lab. It’s too soon to tell, but it may have been a case of road rage. Kitty Bardot was shot."

Review: I do not know why I like these books so much. Although they are great mysteries and I love the characters. I thought that Kitty’s daughter was the best, April May call me June was a blast to sit back and watch her go. Between Caro torn between liking June (April May call me June) and wanted to be as far away from her as possible. That character had me laughing out loud. It put the mystery on the back burner and I did not mind it a bit. While June was being herself, the mystery was rolling along and Caro was finding clues. It just seemed so simple and seamless yet putting all that together takes talent. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

When famous publicist Kitty Bardot is gunned down while driving on a busy California freeway, speculation about her murder runs rampant. Was this a road rage killing? The work of a sniper targeting random drivers? Or a mob hit? Pet therapist Caro Lamont, who was Kitty's next door neighbor, has no idea, and she's determined to keep her nose out of the investigation and herself in the good graces of badass Detective Judd Malone. That is, until Kitty's long-lost sister April Mae Wooben shows up and drags Caro into the search for Kitty's killer.

This is the third--and best--novel in the Pampered Pets series. The action is nonstop, humor is abundant, and the characters' pets get plenty of ink. For romance lovers there's the hint of a future love triangle with Caro, handsome playboy Sam, and Detective Malone. Then there's that darn brooch…

Cozy mystery lovers will be delighted with this lighthearted novel.

I won this book in a Goodreads contest. Free is free and always a good thing!

This was a cute book with a lot of lovable and likeable characters. There was quite a bit of backstory that I did not have since this was book 3 and I did not read the 1st 2 books in the series. Caro is a pet therapist who spends a lot of time running around, trying to solve the mystery and volunteering at the Animal Rescue League but doesn't seem to spend a lot of time with her own pets. That bothered me a little bit because her own animals seemed neglected and placed AFTER the needs of other pets and people.

The setting was different, usually Laguna Beach isn't a cozy mystery setting but it was a welcome change. The mystery was well-crafted though a bit predictable and it was overall, enjoyable. I am glad I read it!
