The Newbie

Rate this book
A chapter book for kids age 7-10 from the author of The Principal's Son and Middle School Millionaires. Pedro is quite popular and has a lot of friends…until he moves to America. In America, things are altogether different. Pedro finds that making new friends in fourth grade is not at all easy when you’re the new kid. At school, he is belittled by Daryl Jetner, the fourth-grade bully. Nobody talks to him at the lunch table. And he struggles with schoolwork. He joins a soccer team, but he’s an outcast among his teammates, just like at school. Nothing seems to be going right. Pedro just can’t seem to make a friend. It’s going to be a long year…unless he can find a way to forge new friendships.REVIEW"Roderick J. Robison has created a wonderful story. A very cute, lighthearted story. This story with its characters allows a reader to grasp what it would be like to be a foreign exchange student or a regular student moving permanently to America." Readers' Favorite
