Kieran O'Mara had never seen a female wield a sword with the skill and determination of the Scottish lass he knew only as Megan. No other woman had ever touched him with such fire, yet until she regained her memory, he could not claim her heart.
Though Megan MacAlpin had fallen in love with Kieran O'Mara, the fierce Irish warrior who had saved her from certain death, she could not tell him. For she was a stranger even to herself, and she would not rest until she knew that she was, indeed, a woman worthy of his love.

Her first book was published by Silhouette Books in 1981 after an editor picked it out of their slush pile. After the first sale was completed, Langan got an agent.
Langan is a charter member of the Romance Writers of America. She has five children and lives with her husband in Michigan.
"Highland Fire" is the third of Ruth Langan's Scottish Highland series. This book is about the youngest sister, Megan, and Irish renegade, Kieran.
Megan is a real tough cookie and a great heroine, however the book suffers because it's focuses too much on action and not enough on romance. Lots of killing and battles! Still, it's an entertaining read, but my favorite of the series is "Highland Heather."
“You are all I can see, Megan, and all I ever will.”

This is your classic Harlequin Historical romance book.

This book was fine. I almost didn’t finish it. This book just wasn’t for me. I wasn’t interested in it at all really, I didn’t like the plot or the characters.
Ok, so I'm a sucker for the amnesia story line. And it works well here as this tough gal gets hurt and had to be cared for by the handsome lord. I'm glad the story went to the other British Isle, only because it kept the series fresh.
