Age Appropriate For: All Ages

Best for Ages: 18+ for style and reading level

When I requested Your Beautiful Purpose, I was hoping for a jump start for a bible time, but I found so much more.

We all go through times when we doubt if what we are doing has real meaning. We wonder if we are doing what we are supposed to be doing or just messing everything up. This book is a wonderful reminder that God has a beautiful and amazing purpose for our lives, even when we have trouble seeing it.

Susie style was soothing for my weary soul. Unlike many books that are either fluffy or full of meat, Susie found a happy medium. Her style was soft enough that, as I said, it soothed me but it had enough power drew me closer to God.

I loved the study at the end of each chapter. Reading the suggested verses and then writing my answers to the questions was so helpful. It not only helped me to delve deeper into the subject, but it also helped me discover things about myself.

I highly recommend this book for women who need a book to lift their spirits, sooth there soul, and draw them closer to the god that loves them.

I received this book from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review. I was under no obligation to write a positive review. The opinions in this review are entirely my own.

Let me just say that I was ready to write a review for this book before I even finished it, but to be thorough and well informed, I completed it before sharing my opinion. So allow me to apologize for my long winded review.

I "stumbled" across this book a few months ago as I was researching for a beauty campaign that I was doing with my bible study group. (I use quotations because I know that nothing in Christ is accidental). I typed in the word "beauty" in my library's data base and among a host of other books, this one appeared. I was drawn to the words "beautiful" and "purpose", as well as the purple clay jar (which is my favorite color by the way, and I have an unexplained love affair with clay jars). I decided to give it a shot and see if I could find any information that would help my campaign. Boy, was I in for a treat! This book spoke to me much more than it helped my 30 Days of Spiritual Makeup Campain; God meant for me to read this book.

As mentioned in the title of my review, this book isn't for everyone. You will probably know if this book is for you just from reading the first few pages. Personally, I feel as though this book was written with me in mind. I was absolutely amazed at the rhema word that I received by way of this book that I just happened upon.

As difficult as it was, I had to stop reading at around chapter 3, return this book to the library, and order my own copy from Amazon because I highlighted so much and written all kind of notes in the margin spaces.

Mrs. Larson used some of the exact terminology that God has been using to speak to me for the past year or so. Exact terminology! Word for word, she wrote in her book things that God has been speaking to my heart. And these arent typical church cliches either, these are things that I never heard before until about a year or so ago when God starting speaking them into my heart. It was almost as if God was saying, "I hear the prayers of your heart". I was outdone in the introduction. AMAZING!!

I write reviews to share my opinions with others as I give the author feedback on their work. I can tell that this is one of those books that I will revisit time and time again--it's now on my short list of Christian Education books that have helped to realign my spiritual eye sight. I can't make it mean to you what it has meant to me. All I can do is share with you an avenue that God has used to minister to my heart.

Again, sorry for the long review, but I believe in sharing what I love.

P.S. I bet the highlighted, written in library copy blesses someone lol.

This is an excellent book that is practical and encouraging. It is easy to read and flows from one chapter to the next with plenty of helpful advice on finding your purpose. I gave this book 5/5 stars. I read the book in one sitting and then went back and answered the questions that were found at the end of each chapter. This book would be great to use in a Bible Study Group, Sunday School Class or just for your own personal devotions. I would recommend all women read this book. You will be encouraged and definitely grow in your relationship with the Lord and your family.

I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

Your Beautiful Purpose by Susie Larson is a book I chose to review with a decent level of interest in seeing what was written about what God can do through us. Even in the midst of a huge move, I kept up with reading this book almost every day until I finished it! The lay out was wonderful ... each chapter started with a relevant verse and quote. I noticed right away - the writing backed by Scripture so I jotted down each Scripture reference shared to look up more in depth as I went. I ended up with a few pages worth! Very nice to have all the points better understood through God's Word. The book starts out with encouragement for the reader to push past unbelief and "trust Jesus to move forward in faith" and the whole book supports this to the end. I personally was inspired to make God's call a higher priority in my life and to follow His lead and not the zillions of distractions swamping every day. I considered having a Woman's Bible study in my home or at church using this book!

A Good Read for Finding Purpose

This book has some great thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter so would be good for small group discussion, but I just used them for journaling. Susie provides lots of good pointers for surviving and thriving in different stages of your spiritual journey and encouragement on how to find and embrace God's vision for your life.

"Nothing is more beautiful than a strong, humble, God-fearing woman who knows who He is and Whose she is."

Amen! :-)

I do not doubt that Susie Larson is a very kind person. I don't doubt that she loves Jesus. I don't doubt that she's been instrumental in a lot of great things. But some of this book looked a lot like humble bragging about book deals, speaking engagements, radio shows, and how very holy she was in her poetically perfect conversations with God. I finished this book feeling even less than adequate as a believer, and I felt less than sure that any of my aspirations or dreams were "churchy" enough for the plans outlined in this book.

My Review:

Just like Peter did when he asked Jesus if he could walk out on the water also and then as he started to really realize what he was doing and then lost his faith or sent it floundering, he started to sink. Our God is always right there just like Jesus was. To pick us up and re-steady us until the next time our faith takes a dip and we start to stumble again. Susie Larson uses this illustration as a guide into showing you that you shouldn't be afraid when God has a specific purpose, plan, or call He has summoned you to do for Him.

Are you the harried housewife with the far away look in your eye? The dream never realized because you have to cook dinner or take the kids to soccer practice or your husband needs his shirt ironed again. The author explains that we should put our trust and faith in the impossible. Just trust upon Him to take what we can't make sense of to turn it all around for our good.

He is really great at making things work when it seems it will take the impossible or even a miracle to come to pass. This book can be done alone or with a group. There are study questions and discussion starters in it as well.

This is what I would call a meditative book. It is a book to be read slowly and thoughtfully. Full of Scripture and scriptural principles, this book takes us straight to the heart of God. Susie also shares her personal experiences openly and honestly.

The book is divided into six sections:

· Embrace Your Purpose
· Trust God's Timing
· Hear God's Voice
· Believe God's Word
· Walk by Faith
· Take New Territory

Susie Larson has a gift for making you feel right at home. Within these pages holds liberty and peace from much that invades our hearts. Using personal stories to illustrate each stage of this journey, Susie is able to identify with the struggles which come with moving toward the purpose God had in mind.
"Your Beautiful Purpose", is just that. Susie shares the insights to finding our purpose and what to do with it once we find it. This book is loaded with scripture and quotes that set your mind soaring. Her words are so sincere as if she really knows your pain and situation. You could read this book in many ways. Read it as a complete book alone, or as a Bible study or even a devotional. This is a book I will read over and over again.
This book is going to help you grow. It's going to bring you to the place where you convene with the Lord and seek your purpose. These pages are filled with passion and God's promise. .

Included in this book is a six-week study which can be done individually and in a group.
I found this book confirmed things that I have been pondering. It is a book which I will turn to again and again, and pass around for friends to read. Beautifully written, I can't recommend this book highly enough.
I received a copy of this book free of charge from Bethany House Publishers for the purpose of an honest review.

Thank you to Bethany House and Netgalley sending me this wonderful Bible Study for review. Susie Larson asks this question what is Your Beautiful Purpose?
The author proposes that we all have a calling or a purpose. We the readers often scratch our heads trying to figure out what is this for us? She shares anecdotes from her own life as she explains different parts of the purpose that we are intended for. She explains that we do have a calling and that we have a choice to follow it or not. How do you follow it? Study in God’s word. We need to listen to God and follow his plan. We need to actively serve.
My Thoughts:
I have to say that timing played a factor in when I was able to cover the study. I also found that it profoundly impacted my life. To review this Bible Study I tried to participate in it like normal. This being said the only negative I had was not being able to have access to the video segments which I feel would have greatly enhanced my experience. The book is divided into six chapters with questions that follow the end of each chapter.
For me the opportunity to grow in Christ is the most important aspect of who I am. So if you are looking for a study that will challenge you then this is the book for you? For those who are in a different place in their walk then it is an introduction to the tools to continue to grow.

This was the first bible study we did with our neighborhood group. We all really enjoyed the way the information is presented. There is a DVD that has 20-30 minute sessions for every 2 chapters. Each chapter has 7 questions that are based on Scripture and 5 discussion starters. Great bible study book!

A beautiful testament of faith, describing how we can discern God's perfect purpose in our lives. I'll be reading this one again. It has been an uplifting and in-depth study that I truly appreciated, by a Christian author who is known for her amazing "Walk with Christ" podcasts, facebook posts, Instagram posts and published books.

This was our "Busy Moms" book club selection at church and all the discussions were on-line. I found that the book complemented several other studies that I was doing at the same time. This was a good study that made me really look myself and how I was using my time and gifts.

Being a man reading a book intended for women can seem that you don't belong to the club. Being referred to as "dear sister..." was not offputting but indicative of who the target audience is. I'm a little ambivalent as to why the author does not feel able to speak to men also, but that is not the nub of the review. This book is a part of the wide Christian literature which I have labelled exhortation and advice. When I read a book like this which doesn't seem to add anything to Christian experience I quite often ask, why has the author written this book. I don't know the answer and I have no knowledge of who the author is as I am not from the US. There are a heap of platitudes which sometimes got on my nerves and then there was a kernel of something lovely, which improved my rating. I don't know how a book like this would go down in a third world country as her life seems quite dreamy and has psychological tics that are particular with the first world. Anyway, I don't pan it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it either.

Susie does not disappoint as she leads you into examining your life and find the purpose that God intends for you. She shares some hard things she has gone through but doesn't dwell on the difficulties she shows how leaning in to see God at work helps get through those tough spots on this journey. Learning to use the life experiences to prepare you for your future. Love the scripture she supplies to go along with these lessons. Highly recommend this one. We used it a small group study and the women all seemed to enjoy the book along with the DVD that accompanied it and helped facilitate and direct discussion.

Studied this one with a group of women at my new church in Holland. Thoroughly enjoyed our conversations surrounding this one but didn't so much enjoy the 7 in-depth questions to answer for every single chapter! Oy, so much homework!

So many things resonated with me but I think I found most helpful the very practical tips for what to do or what to watch out for in the various seasons in life. However, our group all agreed that we wished she would have focused on these early on in the book rather than at the end.

This book is a must read!

Full of meaty thoughts that point me right back to God’s desire in my life, I hope to go back to this one again. I love how the author shares her own heart with struggle and victory throughout. I related to her on so many levels and felt God purposely put this in my life at just the right time.

I especially appreciated the end of chapter thought-provoking questions. It was refreshing to find a challenging and encouraging book leading me to truth and not to just “self-help.”

I was honestly sad to be finished; will be reading more of her books in the future!

I read a few pages out of this book most mornings for the last few months. It’s a book you’ll want to read slowly and absorb. I took pages and pages of notes. The book gives lots of inspiration and truth into how to move past insecurity and weakness and make a positive difference in the world. If you have goals and dreams for your life that you are waiting to see fulfilled, this book would be great for you!

This book challenged me to see what God's purpose is in my life and also helped me realize that the dreams and passions I have are part of His plan for me. I just need to put them into action, but seek His guidance for my life's plans! I did this book and the DVDs as a part of a small group of women and it was a summer well spent! I need to go back and review this--I love this author's teachings!

I gave this book 4.5 stars.

This book is an older book that I have had for a while. I sure wished I had read it while I was still working. I would have done many things differently and in a much better way after having read this book.

I do feel like I have found a direction for my life after retirement and this book has helped me refine that purpose.
I highly recommend this book if you are looking to find your purpose in life and want to follow the path God has planned for you.

I enjoyed this book very much. I read it with my Bible Study group and I think we all liked it a lot. There is a prayer at the end of each chapter that we read aloud each week because it was always just what we needed! I like to underline or highlight when sentences stand out to me and my book is filled with highlights!

Susie’s books are my favorite, she is real, she is raw with a heart of gold. This book nor only made me think about my purpose in life, but gave me practical ways implementing what God entrusted me with. Recommend this book for those that need to rediscover themselves in the big plan of our creator and need a boost of empowerment to grab on on what God has in store for each of us.

It’s challenging and motivating and convicting and encouraging. Man. So good. I knew when I underlined like the entire introduction that the book would rock my world and it has indeed.
