Lenin was a firebrand writer with revolutionary thoughts. His essays - a compilation of which forms this work - would have definitely incited his readership during the highly tumultuous times of his lifetime. His writings are frequently littered with calumnies and slanders towards political opponents, disparaging them to the hilt!
On this theories, in hindsight, we can now be fully sure that they were extremely half baked to say the least! Lenin had very little practical and operating experience, whilst propagating grand eloquent programs on how to run the party, the country and even various administrative functions. It is one thing to capture political power by revolutionary actions, and a completely different thing to run a country with its rudimentary economy basis such theoretical postulations, which were being tried for the first time on Lenin's behest!
The posterity can either praise Lenin for his ability to galvanise a vast mass of Russian as well as global audience with his thoughts and writings, but can also blame him for propagating theories which haven't worked out till date - except in a obscured form in China - anywhere across the world. I, for one, believe that one can take inspiration from his work, and learn how to arouse strong emotions in the audience thorough incisive articulacy.
