This was such a fun, exciting quick read. I love Bekki and Nick and all the side characters like Sammi. The story line was good fast moving and though I guessed the who dun it and why before the ending the book was truly enjoyable.

So far I think this one is my favorite. I think that in this book, Bekki gets a dose of reality that is the danger involved when getting involved too much. Her life is more in danger now than before. And Nick is there for her all the way. Not always happy with her but supports her and is there for her.

In this book in the series, her friend Jasmine is now selling beauty products and is in town on a brief visit. Only she ends up dead and her company she works for is tangled up in it all. Bekki wants to know the truth and starts to get involved even when asked not to. At times I feel she has no respect for Nick’s job and his skills. She just goes over his requests and it feels sometimes like she is not supportive of him. NOt sure why it feels that way but it does for me. That’s the hardest part of the book for me because I adore Nick. He is always there for Bekki no matter what even when his job is in jeopardy he is there for her. With Bekki, it doesn’t feel that way when it comes to Nick. She is there only when it doesn’t interfere with what she wants to do. That at times is frustrating.

Anyway, we have Bekki looking into Jasmine’s death and getting put into some very dangerous situations that even scare her bestie. We have Nick trying to figure out the murder and keep Bekki safe while giving her the room to do what she needs to and supporting her all the way and we have their romance that starts to build into more.

The book overall is good and the story entertaining. Favorite character is still Nick hands down. That man is the best guy.

I temporarily forgot how much I love this series. Bekki and Nick are really cute together, with Bekki's tendency of getting into trouble, Nick is needed to keep her alive. Though Bekki did investigate the case a little, however, she actually plays it safe throughout the book. That doesn't stop Bekki from getting in trouble because of the case.

The mystery was interesting. It's a little sad that it had to incorporate one of Bekki's friends from New York being murder. The murder does actually shine a light on Bekki's past and her shenanigans as a teenager.

The relationship between Nick and Bekki grew in this book. With Bekki more aware of her relationship issues thanks to her previous relationship. They have gotten better at communicating. Also, Bekki isn't trying to run off and do her own thing without talking with Nick.

Overall, I really like this book.

Another really cute mystery in this series which is very easy to binge if you just need to relax. Even though Bekki didn’t get to roundhouse kick a perp to the moon, you can always tell by how she moved during a showdown that she’s still in control in her mind. Even if she doesn’t always have the upper hand, she’ll get it and her karate knowledge keeps her centered. Just the perfect kick-butt main character who still loves her detective coming in for reinforcements.

It wasn’t really hard to figure out whodunit which I don’t think was even the point in this. It was more seeing how Bekki got the evidence she needed, something she’s getting good at.

A friend from New York is in town. Bekki is excited to spend the evening with her catching up. When she arrives at the hotel to pick her up, she finds the door open and her friend on the floor with a knife stuck in her chest. Bekki wonders why she always seems to be involved in such things. When the thugs start going after Bekki, Nick is on high alert and so is Bekki.

I like this series although I enjoyed the first couple a bit more.

Like the short reads, Cozy Mysteries are best!

I do enjoy reading about Bekki the Beautician and her friend Sammy. The story was a bit boring and predictable, with a bit more suspense it could have been great!
