Cupid vs. O’Keefe, Vol. 1

Christy Cupid’s birthday wish is to belong somewhere. The hospital she’s worked at has closed down and with no real excuse at the ready; she agrees to visit her mother in Beverly Hills for her birthday. In her mother’s closet she finds a hidden box with letters from a father she thought had abandoned them when she was six and died in an accident when Christy was seven. The other piece of mail is a business letter from her father’s lawyer saying he died six months ago and she has inherited his house.

Mark O’Keefe works for a special Government Task Force. He’s keeping an eye on the safe house next door where a witness is being held in protective custody. He lived with Jake Cupid for the last eighteen months taking care of him toward the end and promising him to help his daughter if she ever showed up. He regrets that promise now; he has no time to baby sit a spoiled socialite from Beverly Hills who did not answer her father’s pleas for forgiveness. Moreover he doesn’t trust women as a rule.

While Christy and Mark unravel the tangled web of the past, and fight the strong attraction they feel for each other, Ma and Pa Cupid are kept busy trying to make a success of Pa’s first assignment.
