The everyday hustle in the streets of the seven cities, as it pertains to Milton “Milk” Woodhouse, comes to a halt as he recovers from the gunshot wound that almost claimed his life. Milk’s most recent brush with death forces him to reevaluate not only his street credibility, but also his relationship with estranged ex-wife, Sabrina Wright, whom soon finds out that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Old scores are settled with new vendettas on the horizon which ignites the fire for Another Rumble!
I loved A Rumble in VA and couldn't wait to see what finally happened in part 2 but I am a little disappointed. The book started off great but I didn't care for the way it was jumping from person to person so quickly. It wasn't even labeled half the time so you had to figure out who's thoughts you were reading on your own. I loved the drama between Milk and Sabrina, but I am also a huge Byrd fan. In part one Nicole definitely was made to seem like a good girl, but she showed her true colors in this one. The ending seemed very rushed, but overall this was a good read. Definitely not my favorite in the series.
This picked right up from part 1. I was a little mad at all of Milk's selfish ways even though he tried justifying his wrong doing. Sabrina messed up once and he was ready to say the hell with her completely! I didn't even like Nicole's money hungry ass!!! I was alright with her in the first book but after finding out more about her I could care less for her. I'm glad Milk was able to see through how phony she was. Even though Milk treated Sabrina like shit, she still had love for him. Gremlin on the other hand got exactly what his no good ass deserved! I'm hoping Ladybug has learned her lesson.
Nicole's character was more active in this second installment, as were Rico/Byrd and Gremlin/Gee. Sabrina and Milk are found picking up the pieces of their life after the dramatic conclusion to the first installment. Asia's dead, Sabrina has given birth, and all of the secrets are on the table. There was a lot of information and drama packed into these pages, but this was a disappointment. The chapters didn't flow well, and it was difficult figuring who was speaking many times. I found myself anxious to get to the end, this time not for good reasons.
This story picked up, right where it left out. This time around, Milk choose who he wanted to be with and it wasn't Sabrina. Nicole is settled into her spot with Milk and making it her business to pick with Sabrina every time she see's her. Milk is blind to the fact that Nicole just wants his money..Rico is in love with Sabrina...Let the rumbles begin!
I really enjoyed A Rumble in VA and couldn't wait to get into this one. I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as Part 1 but it was still a good read. I did finish it rather quickly. There are quite a few typos and such but not enough to turn me completely off from the book. Looking forward to finishing the next part of the series now so that I am ready for Part 4 dropping in another week.
The second book of the series takes right from the first one, "Rumble in VA." The way that the characters resolve their problems is kind of childish and such, but at the end they know to resolve them as adults. Milk, still being Milk, changes throughout the entire book, and so does Sabrina. They set aside their differences aside when it comes to their daughter.
Wow... and the plot thickens! I'm glad that Milk and Sabrina worked through their differences, although there are a lot of irons in the fire for the two!! Now let's see what's in store next...
The book was entertaining however, it could have been completed in this book. There was no need for a 3rd series of this set. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the series being too drawn out..
