Pepper is dognapped one day by two men wanting a dog for bird hunting. Pepper manages to get away and journeys to find his way home encountering difficulties along the way. I fun quick read, with a nice happy ending. Great for my lunch hour!
“Pepper” is an exciting children’s story about the story of a lost dog and how he finds his way back home.
Pepper is a lovable pet stolen by two men who want him for hunting. Pepper doesn’t know what happened to him and his owner doesn’t know what happened to him. He escapes during a bird hunting outing after being kicked, abused and shot. He escapes injured and begins a month-long trip to find his way home.
This book has realistic photos and illustrations of a black lab. It is a good story for a older children and animal loving adults.
I love dogs and I love to read books. I am glad I chose this book because it is just wonderful. I loved it! Some parts made me cry. Loved how the little girl rescued Pepper from the selter in time. Wonderful book, thanks Brian Borgford.
This was a delightful book. I own and dearly love a black female Lab. She is sad right now. She was companion to my disabled son and he is now gone. But like Pepper she gets lots of love. You could read this story to young children.
Memories The cover image reminded me so much of my Labrador; I had to read the book. It was a fast read, finished in one sitting. Of course, I was aware I'm not the target group of the author. Still, I enjoyed the story. Black Lab's matter!
Pepper is a kid's book like Why Kimba Saved The World, where scenes from the book are acted in out in photography in an attempt to make the story seem more realistic to children.
This would have been a cute, if dark, dog story - but I couldn't get past a series of editing errors.
At least, I'm assuming they were editing errors. I'm still trying to figure it out.
About halfway through the story, the dog, Pepper, gets taken to the pound by a dog catcher. Despite pretty constant assurances from the dog catcher that he's going to be put down any day now, Pepper gets adopted by a little girl who names him Blackie.
For the entire time Pepper is with the little girl's family, his name keeps changing. In one sentence, the girl will call him Blackie. In the next, she and her father refer to him as Pepper. Then he's Blackie again. And then he's Pepper...I'm pretty sure he should have been Blackie throughout the entire exchange.
Otherwise, this was a fairly depressing book. The dog gets kidnapped, strangled, shot, and then put in a dog pound where we're constantly told how any day now, Pepper will be killed because nobody will ever adopt him. And that's only half of the book.
The adventures of Pepper from the time he was first adopted to...
Wow! What an adventure Pepper had, a short but rough. adventures that he had to go through of what was not his fault. I wish to recommend this swell dog story for five stars and for about any. one who loves dogs and read about them, too! I received this one for free and in return for being able to red it and share this with others of like mind, here is thinnest review. Super job Brian! By Angela
Encouraged should be given to this writer and we all know this kind of luck doses not happen to many. We are still having thefts dogfight not prosecuted and 10000 still die daily because they are not adopted from shelters that kIll them. Please let us stop this carnage read and learn. Thank you Amazon
