At fourteen, Catrina MacGreagor was left to care for her nine siblings after her mother passed. She didn't truly mind, for she loved them all dearly, but the work was hard as well as boring, and it left her little time to consider a husband. It was just as well, for she had not yet seen a lad she truly favored. All that was about to change, however, in the form of seven brothers – four of them old enough to marry, and all of them Vikings.

Stefan and Kannak MacGreagor's story continues. It's time for the eldest daughter Catrina to choose a husband. A new Laid has his sights on Catrina, but she despises him and Stefan would never allow it. Who could ever save her from a fate of unhappiness? A viking of course!! Karr Olney and his brothers wash up on shore and is threatening to steal all their hearts. I know they took mine! I just love Talbott's books. Her vikings are incredible and I can read them over and over. Best of all I have no problem allowing my daughter to read it. They are all wonderful love stories for girls of any age. Her books aren't only romance. For me these books easily keep my attention and I always looks forward to the next one. Talbott is one of my one click authors. If you haven't read her books yet don't miss out!! They are amazing
Seven strapping Viking brothers at the cusps of their manhood collectively decided to defy the King and not to do no any more raidings and clandestinely left their homeland for Scotland... to a place between two rivers as their dead beloved grandfather had always told them. For all grew up with the tale of when their grandfather Anundi and his ship's commander Donar, who brought his 14~year~old son, Stefan went a~raiding with some Vikings to Scotland (The Viking ~ Book 1) with tragic circumstances... the Scots fought them off and the Vikings were slaughtered except for a few who escaped. One of those survivors was Anundi who also lost his sword... saw his commander killed as most of his fellows and left the young Viking for dead. So Anundi's grandsons, having stolen a 60~oarsmen ship they helped build... enduring with great difficulty first~time experience with navigation, the lack of manpower, lack of food and water plus other trials along the way... they finally managed to land where they were supposed to. As Fate's Serendipity would have it, the Viking brothers met a very much alive Stefan and his small clan of MacGregors... and it also happened that he had a daughter... and given the dire need for strong able bodied men, and bachelors to boot, to expand his clan ~ the seven brothers became MacGregors.
This review is generic across all Talbott's Viking and Highlander books (so if you look for my review of another in this series you'll just see this).
Talbott has done a superb job of recreating the environment and culture of medieval Scotland and Northern England in these two series. No explicit sex and no gratuitous violence (though there is violence appropriate to the time and place of the novels). Perfect romantic historic fiction with enough swashbuckling tension to appeal to almost anyone. While I am well past adolescence (nearly to senescence), I believe YA readers looking for an entertaining read would like these novels as much as I did.
Also a good read. I enjoyed the arrival of the 7 brothers and their challenges they had to face with the new clan they were introduced to.
Catrina and all the woman in the Clan MacGreagor, they seem to be all difficult as they had to keep up with the new rules that her father set up with the new clan. Woman have the choice to choose a husband and he can only make advances on her by her choice... leaves a lot for your imagination. Over all it was a good read. Get to see that clans coming together, this is by choice of a woman who decides who she wants as her partner. By integrating different Clan's, you get groups coming together and forming alliance's.
Recommend reading "The Viking" (Book 1 of the series) first. A good fast reading story that keeps the readers attention. A bit too much of a romance novel than I normally read, but I will read the next book in the series, "The Viking's Son", to finish the trilogy.
Book is good, with action, suspense and romance, the ending leave me with wanting to know what becomes of them. How many babies they have, why is the clan moving? Please write an epilogue and and let the reader know what happens to other characters. after reading three books, Not sure if I will continue reading the series
Catrina MacGreagor is getting to the marrying age and not sure she likes the idea while her friend, Kenna is very anxious. Kenna's only problem is she wants them all! Then enter seven Viking brothers who are looking for a new home. They are welcomed into the MacGreagor clan if they will agree to the rules. A very enjoyable read!!
Wow I’m so happy I downloaded these to my kindle. This too was such a great story. Catrina and Karr hopefully will continue in the next book as well. The Viking’s Son. Can’t wait to read it. I absolutely loved loved loved the characters and storyline so much. So many weddings. And I was thrilled that the 7 brothers came to Scotland. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊
Sometimes a series will just hook you. It might be a very good stand alone book, but when read together they bring joy to the reader. This Viking series is just such a series and is worth every minute spent on reading each one.
I ordered this book after reading "The Viking" and enjoying it quite a bit. This one also turned out to be a delight! I enjoyed that it wasn't a traditional romance story, but more the story of an entire community. Yes, "The Viking's Daughter" is one person in particular, but much like "The Viking", the book is from several people's points of view and really is quite well written. Go read it, people! It was great :)
A delightful continuation of The Viking. It was fun learning what Stefan and Kannek's life was like after their marriage. This was the story of their eldest daughter, Catrina. And how she met the man of her dreams. Great story and plot twists. Very well written and lovable characters.
Lots of characters to love. Following each character's story was intriguing. Only wish the book was longer but there is still one more book in the series. You will not be disappointed with this book or the series if you love clean romance.
This book was so adorable! I hope that Ms. Talbott continues with more stories about the other Viking brothers and the lives of the early MacGreagors. Her books are such a joy to read!
Good storyline and worth reading. The historical aspect seems to be a little off (in my opinion) but the author comes up with a believable story non the less.
