After her mother’s death and her brother Reno’s deportation, Riana is left alone in NYU. Life seems to only get worse when she finds her roommate and her boyfriend having sex in her bed. Distraught and tired of always been the good girl, she takes the billionaire Allan Sinclair Jr., up on his offer to go to Venice with him for a two week affair.
Allan Sinclair believes in true love and soul mates because he’s witnessed it first hand with his parents. But that doesn’t mean he wants any of it in his life. No. In fact, he runs away from it like the plague, going as far as proposing to Theresa, the one woman in the world he was sure beyond doubt he could never fall in love with.
After Theresa’s numerous complaints of him working too hard, he plans a business trip to Venice, intending to bring his protégée with him to free up some of his time so he could spend it with Theresa. But when he catches Theresa and his protégée having sex, he decides to dump them both and take a waitress who’d caught his interest on the trip instead for a two week affair. But that turns out to be the best and worst decision of his life, when a disgruntled business associate tries to kill Riana.
Christina OW loves reading novels that take her on a ride of wild emotions. Books have always been an escape for her, for a few hours she gets to live the lives of characters she grows to cherish and admire. She's always had an active imagination and because of it has lived in her head more than she has been in the outside world. She always imagined scenarios and wondered how they would turn out in the end, and what kind of emotions they would invoke. Thus began her writing career.
Besides her twin sister, her pajamas are her best friend. She'd rather curl up on the couch with a good book than join the night life. Raised by a selfless mother who put up with the twins playing pranks all the time, Christina feels she owes her mother a lot and strives to make her proud every day.
I am slightly surprised how high rated this book is and I don't share the same view with the others. I normally like "naive" and good girl type of heroine but this one feel stupid to me. Some of the plots in this book really didn't work for me as a romance:
1) The heroine found her boyfriend in bed with her room mate and completely heartbroken but she had no problem feeling attracted to the hero. 2) She quickly acknowledged she never really love her boyfriend at all (I can't believe how heartbroken she is and then so quickly believed her she is not in love!) 3) She easily throw away her study to be staying with the hero travelling around. Well, I thought she got a scholarship to study... and she easily made the decision not to return to study but just to spend more time with the hero? I expected someone who is smart enough to have a scholarship will have a more "level headed" choice and be more realistic. Although she protested she wasn't after the hero's money, I don't feel the same as a 3rd person looking at this relationship especially she hasn't care enough to go back to study. Well what is she living on then if not on the hero's money? 4) Both the heroine and the hero were aware of the risk of pregnancy but just hope for the best it wouldn't happen is purely ignorant and immature. 5) I cannot believe that neither the hero nor the heroine did not know that the other hasn't died and is still living. That is so unbelievable. They didn't find out in more than 2 years. Just one more point to prove it to me they only lust each other but do not care enough to know the other's world including their family and friends.
As a romance story, all the above truly fail me to enjoy the story at all.

A beautiful story between two people, a trusting soul and a guarded one.
Raina who is an art major on a full scholarship at NYU just walked in her on slimy boyfriend and her roommate, she flees to her bestfriend's house and was forewarned about her now ex. Raina is very trusting and believes the best in everyone but sometimes those attributes are the very samethings that will get you hurt more times than you care to count.
Allan SInclair billionaire business maker who has time for no such frivlous things, he is a business and a big brother to his little sister. Love has no place in his world especially after watching his dad die because his mother was no longer living. For Allan that sealed it for him and he was only about flings. In his mind love shouldn't make you want to give up on life if your spouse is no longer here.
Raina and Allan meet at a charity auction, she was waitressing and he was attending to be one of the prizes for the night. Raina is fascinated by Allan, he appears to be well put together, came with his then girlfriend and his protege to the auction. Raina went to get something out of the room and finds Allan's girlfriend and his protege in a very uncompromising position. Raina tries to protect Allan from finding them but he still does, touched that she wanted to protect him but happy because he was tired of dealing with his girlfriend. The auction still had to take place and he wanted Raina to bid on him with his money of course, the bidding war takes place between Raina and now embarrassed ex-girlfriend with Raina beating her out. But it cost Raina and her bestfriend their waittresses jobs but they didn't have to worry because Allan was going to take care of everything.
Allan had business in Venice, his business consisted of taking over fledgling companies and selling it off piece by piece. The big difference was Allan made sure every employee was well compensated for and even made sure they found new employment elsewhere. He asked Raina to go with him, he said it will only be for two weeks. It was supposed to have been his ex-girlfriend and his protege but since he got rid of them both and he thought Raina was really sweet and nice he asked her. She agreed but although not a first, her crazy bestfriend Loraine talked her into going and so she did. And what happened in Venice and as they hopped on the train traveling the country was an eye opener for them both. What started off as a two week trek turned into two months of getting to know each other and both hearts finding love. Allan was a little slower with his because he fought it but Raina was exactly who he needed, sunshine that shone in all of his dark places. But his fear tore him from her and what took place afterwards was a downward spiral that neither one of them could have anticipated, I know it took me totally by surprised and I was an emotional wreck.
The way the story played out was wonderful and it had its tragic moments too, it was a hint of Shakespearean in it which really made for an excellent read. There are actually 3 books out under this series, each with a different lead. The next story "His Bahamian Affair" is Loraine (Raina's bestfriend) and Raina's brother Reno. and the third story is "His Paris Affair" with Allan's sister Melody and Raina's step brother Ruiz. These next 2 stories I will happily read them.
This was a beautiful story. From the beginning you ache for Riana when she catches her boyfriend in er bed with her roommate. But when she meets Allen and he offers her a trip toVenice after learning bad news of his own things start to turn for the better for her. I really enjoyed how their romance was given time to grow and wasn't rushed. Their arguments, insecurities, and thoughts really connect with the reader. The plot progressed nicely and the characters were well developed. The plot twist is absolutely incredible and the ending will leave you breathless and needing tissues! If this book was a Lifetime movie I'd be curled in bed with popcorn glued to the TV!
I was given an ARC from the author for a honest review.
This book was soooooo good! I was on an emotional ride. I could feel Riana's pain when she caught her boyfriend and her roommate in her bed!! Then hearing how they felt about her. It is an awesome story and very well written. I am so excited about the next two books in the series. Thank you Christina Ow for taking me on a journey of emotions lol.
Cute story about fate and chance. Riana was sweet and endearing although sometimes so sweet I got a toothache. Loved how her back story was entwined with what was happening with them now. Typical wealthy over bearingly protective man is mellowed by the girl next door that every other male is attracted to. Liked the twists in the end which helped with the rating. I am a sucker for a happy ending.
4 stars. Loved this story from the beginning to the end. It was emotional, funny, and great. Love the characters. Her girlfriend needs a book, and his sister. So much love she had for him, but he was stubborn, until disaster happened. Kudos to the author.
I loved this book because it was not slow on the story, it definitely had great twist and turns. This book had me from beginning to the end. if you love a good love story this is it.
Im gonna have to give this book five stars. In the beginning it did start off kinda slow, but oh let me tell you it was so awesome. I laughed, cried and everything between. It was such a good story.
I've read this book before and when I found out I could buy it I just about died I love it just that much it still makes me laugh, cry and have all the other feelings if you have not read it I seriously think you should give it a try,is a love at first sight book a rebound from a broken heart and it's worth the read but if it's not for you or you happen to read it and don't like it please be nice and just move on your negative comments are so unnecessary as it takes author's a lot of courage and time to provide us with book to read and it takes nothing but one comment to break someone's confidence in their work
If you have never read a book by Christian OW consider starting with Her Venice Affair, the first book in the series, The Albury Affairs. Readers, you will experience an array of emotions from beginning to end, but it is well worth it. Her Venice Affair is a page turner that will leave you wanting to read more of the author’s work.
Riana Albury and Allen Sinclair are from different social circles; however, the life lesson they experienced left both with apprehension about loving others. It was witty how the author conveyed how men and women respond differently when faced with an obstacle. Riana made her presence known to her boyfriend and roommate after watching them degrade her bedroom; her emotional stance was typical for a young woman in her first real relationship. The day she met confident, blue eyed, handsome Sinclair, Riana finds herself trying to protect him from finding out about his girlfriend’s extracurricular activities. When things couldn’t become more awkward, Allen offers Riana a trip to Venice.
Italy brought out the best and worst in the undefined duo; Riana withholding important news and Allen’s fears resurfacing, causing humiliation towards Riana. Jealousy, selfishness, and hatred left the hero and heroine fighting for life, serenity, and happiness.
The characters Ms. OW created are those readers will be able to connect with; every scene is developed with perfection. As much as I tried to contain the water works at the end, I lost the fight (grab a tissue or two). Her Venice Affair is highly recommended. You will not be disappointed! By the way, Book 2, His Bahamas Affair, is also available.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. What an adventure ride! A book full hot sex, emotional turmoils, sadness and love. Very well written I could hardly put my kindle down. I have today purchased the follow ons His Bahamas Affair and His Paris Affair. Looking forward to reading much more from this author. Highly recommend purchasing..
This book had a different twist than I was expecting. I really enjoyed reading this light and fun book.
Two souls both hurting...they run away together for some fun in the sun but they fall in love. Then something tragic happens. Will their love survive? What will they discover about themselves?
This was a good read that I will recommend to my friends.
My only complaint with this book is Riana is way to nieve for my liking. I understand timid and shy but she was almost to the point of nerve racking. Other than that not to bad of a story. This is my 1st time reading this authors work. Haven't made u poo my mind about her yet
This book was really good! At some point in time I made the comparison of reading the book form of Pretty Woman, why I don't know... but it really was good and I would recommend it to other to read.
Now this is my kinda love story. I felt all the emotions of both H/h. Had a slow start, but the author really hit it outta the ball park in the third and fourth quarter. Loved it!
First time reader of this author. Will not be the last. The story starts out agonizingly slow, but gets better and then - bam- hits you in the gut. Great surprise.
