When former Reno, Nevada sheriff, Keenan Fitzpatrick, wins a free moose hunting trip to Newfoundland, Canada, he is happy to get away from his current job as a casino security officer. Shortly after arriving at the isolated hunting lodge forty miles from the nearest road, a man is shot to death. The other guests and guides immediately recruit Fitz to solve the murder. But without any technology to run background on all of the characters at the lodge, Fitz must rely only on his personal skills to uncover the killer. With six days before anyone from the outside world will learn anything is wrong at the lodge, Fitz must stop the killer before everyone is murdered.

About the author

Trevor Scott is the best selling author of more than 70 mystery/thriller novels in the Jake Adams International Espionage Thriller Series, the Karl Adams Series, and the Max Kane Series. He has sold more than 1.3 million copies of his books in a number of languages. He earned a master's in creative writing from Northern Michigan University, and a bachelor's in writing from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He served in the U.S. Navy as an ordnanceman on the flight deck of aircraft carriers, and as an officer in the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War and the first Gulf War, where he retired as a captain. He previously worked as a writer and editor at a daily newspaper, and in the PR department at a small private college. He has traveled to more than 100 countries, all seven continents, and he currently resides in Nevada. He grew up in a small town near Duluth. He's a dual citizen of the U.S. and Italy.

Isolated

Excellent mystery story with many of the changes that kept me guessing as to what would be next. Kept me interested and looking forward to reading further. Details were given when necessary to keep you involved and ample time between events kept you wondering where it would go next. Good read!

the retired Reno Nevada sheriff Fitz on a hunting trip to Newfoundland. The corpses mount and with no external connections or technology Fitz tries to uncover the killer. The problem is no one is scheduled to come to the lodge for 6 days.......
Fitz is an interesting character so another book is anticipated.

Who would have thought

This was a hunting trip that turned out to be a hunting trip in reverse. The group was very diverse based on their life styles. But the trip brought the right people together with an assumed good end.

Definitely some grammar and punctuation issues.
Also, one major mess up in naming a character.

Great Read

I'd highly recommend this book. It kept me in suspense and made me eager to discover what was going to happen next.
