Daily readings for compulsive overeaters who seek to understand the role of food in their lives, supporting a life of physical, emotional, and spiritual balance.Food for Thought offers wise and comforting words for compulsive overeaters who seek to understand the role of food in their lives. Each day's reading in the best-selling classic supports a life of physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. Read daily by millions, Hazelden meditation books have set the standard for quality and popularity. Like all the Hazelden meditation favorites, Food for Thought provides enduring wisdom, reassurance, and strength.
Elisabeth L. is the author of Twelve Steps for Overeaters and several other popular Hazelden titles adressing the issues of recovery from eating disorders.
When working a 12 Step program, "Higher Power" ( as you define it) and conscious contact with Power is the most important part of life. In this book, the writer places abstinence first, time and again. You might want this book if you are working a tools based program, but there are much better meditation books out there. I couldn't wait for the year to end.
Sometimes the daily reflections are really meaningful, but having this book as a daily reader suffers because all the reflections are from one writer. I would prefer a selection of different views which give a more balanced view of the different approaches to programme and the different ways the disease of OA affects people.
"Food for Thought" by Elisabeth L. is a daily companion for compulsive overeaters, offering wisdom and support. The book addresses the role of food in their lives, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. With concise yet powerful readings, it provides reassurance and guidance. The author's compassionate voice creates a nurturing space for self-discovery and healing. This exceptional book nourishes the mind, body, and soul, making it an invaluable companion on the journey to recovery.
