A Very Good Book!

I’m so glad I decided to continue this series. The first book had me thinking it was more for teenagers. This series really tells Lexi’s story and life. A lot of secrets have come out by a lot of characters. It introduces how a lot of people are involved in the SOT and what it’s about. I’m onto the last book to see how it all turns out.

Nah this book messed with my head. It kept me on my phone. My head kept trying to guess but at every point Dayo Benson added a twist. Don't want to spoil it for you so I'd just keep it in. You need to read this !!

Red carpet
Having read crystal's serie, now I know why Lexi was so strict with crystal. The way she agrees to things without thinking them through is baffling. It was an interesting read

I received an ARC of this book. This review is voluntary and is my honest opinion.'

It took me a long time to finish this novel and I actually had to put it down because I got so emotional halfway through. Dayo tackles some pretty tough issues such as domestic violence. I'm very grateful she encouraged women that they don't have to endure or settle for that in any kind of way. Plus it was rough seeing how it affected Lexi and Crystal.

Since I had put the novel down I will admit that I wanted to skip and go to the third novel to see what happens. However I'm glad I didn't because overall I enjoyed "Red Carpet"! I love that Jace is still a gentlemen and seeing Lexi reach the height of her career. I also really enjoyed reading about her different photo shoots and some behind the scenes in the modeling world. It was so cool to see her TRUE friends and family be there for her as she has different changes happen in her life, whether good or bad. Those friendships have come a long way since book one.

I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of Lexi's story and seeing how she handles some of the events that occurred near the end. Here's hoping she has a happy ending with the special someone she ultimately wants to be with (even if she doesn't want to admit it).

Once again I was blown away by the raw honesty in this book. The crazy thing is I listened to the entire thing (mostly while driving) and never actually read a word. But the story is so well done that I felt like I was reading it. The characters have become my friends. I hated for the story to end. The spiritual parts of the book were realistic. The conflict felt genuine and not forced. Lexi's life is a complicated mess, and at the same time, intriguing. She is a great example of someone who seems to have everything except the one thing they desire most... true love that lasts. I can't wait to read more to find out what happens next. I'm hooked on these characters and something tells me I may shed a few tears when this series ends. Love this author and absolutely adore this series.

This book is the amazing sequel to Raw Deal. You follow Lexi through her life even more in this book. If you haven't read Raw Deal yet and you don't want to be spoiled on the end of that book, stop reading now. I have a review on that too if you want to read a summary of the first book without spoilers.

SPOILERS OF RAW DEAL! IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THAT, STOP READING!

Lexi is now married to Carl and has her daughter, Crystal. Her modeling is starting to get big and she couldn't be happier in that area. Her personal life is another story. Carl proves not to be the nice gentleman she thought he was when they were dating. She starts to consider if there really could be a God out there. In Red Carpet, find out what will happen with Lexi's life and her walk with God.

The best thing about Dayo Benson's characters is how rounded they are. They are never flat, never boring. It was great to see Lexi grow and evolve and I feel like I've been on a personal journey with a friend. I have now grown used to the author's style and do not have to skip the pages to see what will happen. I know the quality of the story will make up for the length and the time it takes to get to the end.

I also loved the way she tackles the domestic violence bit of it. Beyond being entertained, I was touched and inspired by Lexi's journey.
I really enjoyed this book.

Well done!

Yet another good read from raw deal. It tells more than one barely reads. How the rich world is so tempting yet comes with a price too high. In everything, be content and prayerful. Stay focused on God. I enjoyed mostly Lexi's simple heart that is gradually being transformed. Needless to say, I knew the end. Although, not so predictable but thinking from the writer's view, you can tell the end of the story from this book. Well done again Dayo!

Thought this was a good series. However the spin off series based off her daughter is much better. Love this author.
