NIV Bible: The Gospels

Rate this book
Ever since he became a Christian at the age of forty, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the whole Bible. Starting with the writings of the Apostle Paul to accompany his BBC1 documentary, 'In the Footsteps of St Paul', Suchet now turns his attention to the story of Jesus - the leading figure of Christianity - as he reads from the gospels.

This enhanced ebook uses a very quick and easy navigation system to direct you through the biblical text, so you can listen and read along at the same time. Scripture is taken from the Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011 translation.

The most amazing audio reading of the NIV I’ve heard. The pauses, and his inflections even made parts that I’ve struggled getting through in the past enjoyable! I highly recommend as my favorite audible of the Bible I’ve heard!

Really? Does anyone feel like they can give anything less than 5 stars?
If the performance was awful, I would have given a lower rating for sure. 😉

Now that I’ve finished this...I have so many questions for my Christian friends. One suggested I read The Screwtape Letters...so, onward.

The Four Gospels. Is there a better way to learn about Jesus and the foundations of Christianity than from the actual Biblical text? Reading the Four Gospels gives a uniquely vivid picture of the life and teachings of Jesus and the Apostles, a picture a reader just cannot get in any other way. For people curious about Christianity, reading the Gospels is probably the best answer to their curiosity. For Christians, the Gospels will likely bring a new shade of meaning and a deeper perspective on their faith. The text is the highly accessible 2011 New International Version translation from the original ancient language sources.

Really useful.

A really useful piece of work. Listening to the audio and reading focusses the mind on the text and context.
