Christmas has always been a wonderful time of year for Heddi James. But this Christmas nothing is the same. After the recent loss of both her husband and her loyal canine companion, Heddi wonders if she should celebrate Christmas at all. But all of that changes when the true gift of healing comes to her in a most mysterious way.
This is a short story perfect for a quick holiday read!
The book was good, but not as good as the book about the family who had the old dog. I think Jasper was the name. The story was a little hard to follow. It was not really keeping my interest.
I borrowed Cooper's Gift from the Amazon lending library this month. It is a short Christmas story that is centered on a Golden Lab. Why did I request the book? The book blurb said that this was a story where the dog wouldn't die in the end. Also, Cooper's smiling face on the cover of the book made me want to open its pages.
It is a bittersweet tale of Heddi James and how grief over loved ones lost causes her to dread Christmas and all of the seasonal trimmings that add to the spirit of the season. The story was very personal to me because I have a friend who experiemced these same lost feelings last Christmas.
This warm and touching book needs to be released in a hardcover format for giftgiving. It could easily become a family favorite for rereading each year during the holidays.
Again this Lilac Creek story connects to all the others. Coppers Gift is a story that is truly a gift. A must read by those who enjoy Beautiful Short Stories.
I smiled and cried with this story- a story of one person's loss and grieving during the Christmas holidays, of loved traditions associated with those loved ones, and how she was shown to begin to heal. Such a heartwarming Christmas story!
I enjoyed this wonderful story portraying one woman's journey to find herself after two tragic losses. Very beautiful writing, Ms. Landers is to be commended.
