I always thought I had been born a hundred years too late, but I do appreciate air conditioning, computers and other conveniences of modern day living. I love the slower pace of New Bern, North Carolina as well as the history and small town community. Imagine a neighborhood where people wave at one another and keep eye out for the children. It's like living in the 1950s. In addition to dreaming up my next story, of which there are always two or three in the works, I enjoy reading everything from children’s books to romance to mysteries to vampire adventure, singing in my church choir and needle-weaving.

Once again we are treated to the sensitive and insightful story about a woman who is big and beautiful and who is seeking to find a man who sees beyond the larger curves into the needs of her heart. Yet we have here a hero who recognizes Mimi as a warm and giving woman but who is clueless about the love she shows him every time she submits to him. He uses the excuse that he has a "complicated" life and somehow Mimi not only feels left out in the cold but she is sitting on the outskirts of Master Chaz's life. Yet her love for him gives her great strength and endurance, even in the face of these life complications. It's a fine read but short--another wonderful novella in a series that has made lots of fans for this writer.
I have enjoyed this series but was disappointed with this installment. In many ways it felt rushed and unfinished. Throughout the book the main character sates that his life is complicated causing much of the supposed angst in the story. Yet these issues are never revealed and overnight the couple is happy and in love no discussion required. Unfortunately I can only give the book a 2.5.
After reading a good deal of this series and enjoying it for the most part, this book is a prime example of why I feel this author really needs to make these books longer. I have no idea why Chaz had a roommate, what he did for a living, you learn NOTHING about this guy AT ALL!
