Wow! What an incredible start to a series! Although this book was heavier on the romance than what I would normally read, I was extremely impressed with the twists and the fast pace, as well as the quality of writing. It also had some very creative elements I've never read in a werewolf novel before. I highly recommend this book for those who love werewolves, action, and romance :)

“Holy sugar sticks” what a novel! It was absolutely awesomesauce.

Stoyanoff’s writing style draws you in to her well developed world and gives you a place to call your own while you escape your reality through her work. She writes the way that people really think, feel, and talk. This adds a layer of realism to her supernatural world. This novel also packs an emotional punch. Not only do you have a supernatural story that keeps you guessing and reeling, but this smoothly written novel makes you feel with and for the characters.

Stoyanoff uses the technique of flipping perspectives to great success. She keeps everything straight between the characters while giving us insight into multiple points of view. As a reader, it gives you a much deeper understanding of the story, the town, and the characters. You become more and more attached to the main characters the more you understand them. This builds with the well developed and very captivating characters that Stoyanoff brings forth in this unique story to create a cast of characters that you’ll never forget.

Stoyanoff has also created a very solid pack law for her town. She takes elements of were-culture and melds it with some very unique wolf traits to create a world all of her own. It is very captivating and extremely entertaining. The uniqueness of this story combined with Stoyanoff’s open and enthralling writing style will keep you captivated. You won’t be able to put this one down.

My biggest issue with this novel is that it ended. Don’t get me wrong. There was a definite ending to the novel. Everything is wrapped up nicely while presenting a brilliant segue into the sequel. But it ended. I didn’t want to let these characters go. And I can’t wait to re-join them in the sequel.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

One word: Aidan, yep that's what I loved about this book him! "when a wolf picked a mate that was it. It was for life, and the thought of her being someone else's made my stomach clench." He's just all 'alpha' literally and figuratively people, "I was," I snapped. "Spread the word through the pack; Jade is off limits." Erika ugh she's just a bi*** (of course first impressions can be wrong...) "it's really not up for debate, Jade. I know you've been sneaking around, trying to get Dom's attention. And I saw you checking Aidan. They're mine. Both of them." Someone didn't teach her how to share when she was a child. Aidan, oh my god there are seriously no words, "he glanced over his shoulder, and winked. "Your lust. Your scent is screaming sex." He's possessive of Jade and is getting sick of Dom's attitude which I would be to because let's face it Dom and Jade seriously ain't ever gonna happen and it if does I'll piss myself, "bad news, too, though." I said, ignoring his plea. "It's time for you to come clean. Because honestly, if I catch another whiff of jealousy on you, I'll rip you apart." I mean he really is a demanding wolf, "Jade, you are going to be mine," I growled without thought. I slammed my palm against the door so hard it shook. "Fighting me will only delay it, but it won't stop the inevitable. I know you feel it." He really is a cocky sort as well, "mmmm, I love a challenge," he said. His voice turned deep and husky. "You're making this so much more fun, sweetheart. You and I both know you'll submit to me. You'll be mine." Then he has his sweet moments, "actually, yeah, you are. You're my possession. Mine. To protect and love and have. Mine." I didn't like the ending because well there was sort of a cliffhanger and we all know how much I hate those.

EEEEP, A NEW FAVOURITE WEREWOLF SERIES!

For starter’s I LOVE anything and everything wolfie, but then I come across this little gem where in a small town called Dog Mountain werewolves live among humans, Yes, no hiding, they basically run the place. This was soo intriguing as book and movies do annoy me with all the secrecy and who doesn’t want to live in a town with werewolves?!

Jade Shaw the headstrong and maybe too stubborn protagonist lives in this town with her mum and dad but unlike everybody else that worships the pack and wants to be apart of it, she wants nothing to do with them. She lost her best friend Dom to them 2 years ago and hasn’t forgiven them since. That is until Aidan Collins comes into town and the pack are doing their best to recruit him. When Jade meets Aidan, she assumes he’s human and has no idea about the werewolves and refuses to let the pack have him, while trying to convince herself it’s for his own safety she secretly wants him too… but Aidan is no ordinary human, he’s the new Alpha. I was literally dying by this point, I love all the secrets and lies and tension and angst, oh the angst!

I like most other people HATE HATE HATE Insta-love, however I do tend to have a little loophole. In humans I can’t bare it, it’s a quick fire way to ruin a book but when you’re talking about werewolves and this attraction is all primal and instinct, oh I devour it. Humans: NO, Wolves: YES, it’s plausible. Also the take on werewolves in this book is outstanding, it’s not like anything I’ve ever read, I assumed it would be like Maggie’s Shiver series but this was more in depth, tackling issues about mates, shifting, alpha’s, beta’s, wolf games, submission. Apart from being heavy on the romance there's lots of werewolf action!

But back to my new boyfriend Aiden, oh you guys SO MANY FEELS. He’s the Alpha so he’s obviously crazy, dominant, gorgeous, and sexy but he also has this soft side that just melts my heart, he clearly wants the best for his pack but first he must make it through the games to decide his new Alpha female mate. Maybe I’m just a taaad bias because I really do love a romance with lots of tension, angst and werewolves but seriously, DEREK HALE, COLE ST. CLAIR, ALCIDE HERVEAUX, JACOB BLACK, need I go on?

description

This ending was sort of cliffhanger, either way I did not care for it but obviously I’m buying book 2 now because I need it! Also take a deep breath and don’t throw your book/tablet at the wall when Jade is being a complete butthead, like I said too stubborn! I was going to take a star off for a few annoyances but I was up until 2am reading this book, this hasn't happened since Throne of Glass ahh good times! and I was soo excited to get up, finish the book and write my review.. I clearly loved this book!

This book is absolutely perfect for romance and paranormal lovers and to sweeten the deal this book is FREE ON AMAZON AND iBOOKS, so no excuse… well at least give it a try if this is your type of thing.

Is there room for another YA paranormal romance? If it has the unique spin only Ashley Stoyanoff can twist, then the answer is yes! Deadly Crush, the first in a new trilogy, Deadly puts the small town of Dog Mountain (yep, seriously) on the maps as a haven for werewolves as they co-habitate with humans out in the open. Too bad this doesn’t sit well with Jade, who has lost a lot to the bite of a werewolf and cannot forgive and forget. When a hot new guy hits town, Jade has taken it on herself to keep him safe from the pack. Too bad Jade is wasting her time, Aidan is the new pack alpha, but cannot seem to let her in on the news. Tough, outspoken and completely human, Jade is a force to be reckoned with when angered. When she learns that things are not as they seem and those closest to her have been less than honest, Jade’s already turmoil-filled life is in for a massive upheaval and her biggest nightmare could become reality, starring Aidan, the pack and someone Jade could never believe would betray her.
Ashley Stoyanoff has given voice to multiple viewpoints, each clear, well-timed and genuinely realistic! Talk about 3-d story-telling! Her sense of good dialogue and great world-building almost make me wonder if she knows something the rest of us don’t! From the sights to the sounds and smells, Dog Mountain comes alive, its inhabitants ranging from the typical high school Hierarchy to the laws of the pack. So many secrets, so many webs have been woven, only the strong will survive. Will it include Jade and Aidan, or will forces beyond her control cause Jade to turn her back on happiness and weave her own web of lies? Only Ashley Stoyanoff knows!

Deadly Crush ( Deadly Trilogy, Book 1 ) by Ashley Stoyanoff
I received this book in exchange for an honest review by the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com
I have to begin by saying that I absolutely loved this book. It has all the elements I look for in a good book ... action, romance and a good plot. When I first read the synopsis I thought to myself, “yup another werewolf book”, not that that is a bad thing as I love anything and everything Paranormal, but I was pleasantly surprised with this book as the story is original and unpredictable. The main character Jade is strong and spunky, add into the mix a well thought out cast of supporting characters and lots of action and adventure and you land up with a fantastic read. This book is rich and descriptive, with a well crafted story that has plenty of suspense, romance and a generous helping of action all of which unfold in a smooth and effortless manner. The writing is descriptive and flows well making this an easy read. All the elements of this story are well thought out and structured ensuring a fast paced book that will keep you turning the pages until the very end. I am looking forward to the next book in his series with baited breath. A very entertaining read from a very talented author. I will definitely be looking out for more of Ashley Stoyanoff’s work.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
This book was different than what I had expected but in a good way. A lot of paranormal books seem to follow a certain formula that this book didn't conform to.

I liked a lot of things in this novel, the main one being Jade. While I didn't always agree with her, I liked her spunk. She was a strong character and I like what the author did with her. In fact, I liked a lot of the characters, my favorite being Dominic for some reason. The plot was awesome because it was different than other werewolf books. The writing flowed well and the twists kept me wanting more. I liked that while there was some romance, it didn't take over the plot. There wasn't a whole lot of fluff and it was a nice change.

My only complaint was the ending. I felt that the ending was rushed and then just kind of ended. Luckily this book says it's book 1 in a series so there should be a sequel (hopefully soon). All in all, this is definitely a good book if you like paranormal books about werewolves and some action, along with a strong and stubborn heroine.

What I love most about Stoyanoff’s writing is her ability to make fiction feel realistic. The dialogue exchanged between characters is so natural; you can clearly imagine their voices. I am always amazed at how her writing plays like a movie in my mind; she literally brings her stories to life!

Ashley Stoyanoff had done it again; she has made me addicted to her writing! I adored this book and I could gush about it for hours! It’s a quick read because once you start it, trust me, you won’t put it down! Jade is an independent, fiery, and passionate protagonist. I love any book with a strong female lead, maybe because they sometimes remind me of myself? Either way, I connected to Jade in so many ways…I would totally be her friend! Aiden and Dominic, just saying their names makes the temperature rise, both are seriously smokin’ hot. The werewolf action scenes had me on the edge of my seat, so intense, so animalistic, and so genuine. The ending tugged at my heart but left me with such hope for Jade and Aiden… I think they make the perfect pair!

I instantly fell in love with the concept of this novel: Werewolves! Who doesn’t like a good wolf story? The shifter characters had a great balance of wolf and human personality traits that blended together beautifully. The customs and rules of the pack played an important role in how the story progressed, which I found to be absolutely intriguing. In most typical werewolf books the shifters tend to hide from humans but not in this one. In Dog Mountain, the local town folk are aware that werewolves live among them. Most embrace them while others despise them. A bit of a unique twist, would you want to know if werewolves lived near you? I would!

I have read a lot of Stoyanoff’s books and each one just keeps getting better! I have been a fan of hers from the moment I read her work and I can’t wait to read more in this series. Deadly Crush reminds me a bit of her other series The Soul’s Mark. I will say if you liked The Soul’s Mark books, you will also love this novel! If you love a notable paranormal novel, filled to the brim with action and a bit of romance, go read Deadly Crush now!

I was given an ARC copy of Deadly Crush in exchange for an honest review.

This was an entertaining read!! Stoyanoff put her own unique twist to the sometimes overdone werewolf mythology. I wasn't quite sure if I actually fell in love with the main character, Jade. She was angry, but with good reason, as it seemed that everything in her life was falling apart. I look forward to seeing how her character evolves in the sequel. The ending was unexpected and left me eager for more. I look forward to finding out what happens next in future stories of this pack and their head-strong leaders. The writing style was great!! I would recommend this book to all paranormal romance lovers.

I did not like this book at all , The female characters were horrible, The only saving grace was Adien and she made him weak. What kind of alpha would let his mate turn away from him and be with someone else. Im really disappointed that this book like every other turn into a love triangle. Wolves mate for life I dont think they find their mate the let some other guy puttheir hands and lips all over them without a fight. Im sure there are some people who will give this a great rating but not my cup of tea. I cant get past the main character's and the way things played out.

Ashley's writing is magnificent, it flows like a river. Some books make you feel like it's hard reading them, like you can't connect the words together and definitely deadly crush is not one of these books! I loved the different perspectives, they give you a better insight of the story. I adored the story, intense, action packed and of course romance! Can't wait to read more from this author :)

Holy moly, I LOVED this book! From start to finish, Ashley had me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out the next solution to her amazing plot twists. (some of which I had NO idea were coming!!!) First let's touch on the plot. Jade is a bit well, jaded, when it comes to the were wolves in her town. to her they walk around like they own the place and that really irks her. So when she meets and falls for Aiden, the new guy in town, she gets her fair share of surprises when she finds out that he is the new Alpha of the the pack. The story unfolds with not only Jade's feelings towards Aiden and the pack, but also Aiden's pov on his new role as Alpha, the pack dynamics, and Jade. I don't want to give too much away because this book really is fun and there is just too much that weaves together to form a really solid plot line.

Jade is a killer lead. She is a fierce bitch. And when I say bitch I mean Being In Total Control of Herself. She is strong and really sticks to her convictions. I love how she handles herself as this strong independent woman, but also knows when to ask for help. She is a character to look up to.

Aiden is just plain old delicious. I want one. He is strong but also willing to admit when he wrong. He doesn't like to use his influence as alpha to harm and get his way. I just can't say enough good things about him. YUMMY!! Even though he is a bit misguided when it comes to wooing Jade (then again what man isn't misguided when it comes to women, let's be serious here) he still tries to do the right thing by her.

Jade's friends, Dom and Mac are really funny. They provide a bit of comic relief for me. Mac is the best friend every girl wants to have. She is hysterical and would give you the shirt off your back. She always means well even if she goes about things the wrong way.

Over all I loved this story. I feel like the characters were really well written and the plot was great. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good, fast, read. I finished this book in a few hours and it really had me wanting more. I really want the next book to come out like... yesterday! I NEED to know what happens!!! I hate cliff hangers!

~4.5~

I was excited about reading deadly crush & to be honest a little nervous too, we all know Ashley Stoyanoff is a fantastic writer & her vampire series The Soul's Mark is excellent but werewolves it seemed like a big leap from one to the other but after a few pages i found all my worries faded & I was totally absorbed in Ashley's unique take on werewolves & the games they play!

Jade is confident, smart & sassy, she's pretty much  your ordinary teenage girl..oh expect for one thing she HATES the werewolves that live in her small town, dog mountain & stays as far away from those "dogs" as she possibly can, that is until she meet the devilishly good looking Aidan, Who just happens to make  her skin tingle & her stomach fill with butterflies just with his mere presence.

description

"His laugh & chocolatey eyes captured me, making my skin grow warmer."

Aidan is the new guy in town. His Smart, strong, a little bit cocky  & Hot as all Hell and his the perfect counter blance for strong headed jade . But this sexy new stranger Is packing a secret that will turn Jade's world upside down, but that's only a taste of what fate has in store for her.

description

The Chemistry between these two was electric & the tension kept me on the edge of my seat desperate to find out more. It was romance & suspense all wrapped up in one.

I've read a lot of werewolf novels but none like this one, ashley keeps it old school while still giving It some very original twists, i don't want to give too much away because i think its defiantly one of those novels the less you know the better, so I'll I just finish by say ing that Deadly Crush is truly one of a kind & I'm really looking forward to more in the series.

Deadly Crush by Ashley Stoyanoff

rating 5*****

This book was provided from the author in exchange for honest literary review.

I love anything paranormal. That being said, this book was off the charts to me. Deadly Crush blends action, romance, and pains of growing up all on one novel.
I think Dog Mountain is about the best name for a shifter town I have ever heard. I laughed out loud at that one right from the start. As the novel develops, you can't help but identify with Jade. She is a great strong female character which I love. I also felt some of the vulnerability where Aidan was concerned. It was endearing.
I honestly don't know which of the boys are my favorite in this one. The characters are so gash darn likeable in this one. As I watched Aidan and Jade's story unfold for once I did.t know what to expect. The author hits you with twist of plot that is so unpredictable it will leave you floored. The ending is uber awesome. I want to write it out so much and spill it all but I don't do spoilers.....To equal up to this part two of this series is going to have to be out of this world
This is my first experience with this author and I have to say I was both very happy and presantly surprised. Weres are my favorite of all paranormals, and this is about as vivid and accurate as I have ever been able to have an author recreate in ny mind. overall a great start to a new series. This one has enough to be a stand alone read, but that ending is driving me crazy......when is it I can get my hands on part 2???

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review (Thanks to Lovers of Paranormal!)

Well, I think it's fair to say that this was not at all what I was expecting.
Even though I've been out of the YA genre for a while now, the blurb of this book kind fo got my interest going again. It was different, but didn't exactly tell you all that much either.
First of all, I absolutely love the fact that the wolves and human people could coexist without it being a big fat secret. If there's anything I'm so sick of, it's the darn secrecy and the lies. And we had a bit af that, what with Dog Mountain and all...

The thing about Jade was that she was actually a bitch. Which, admittedly, I love in a female MC. They seem to be the only ones able to stand up for themselves and able to control their own emotions, not in consant doubt of themselves. So yeah, I adored Jade.
Aiden, on the other hand, isn't a sort of guy I typically like, but was, in fact, also really likeable. He was... cute. In a way.

The story was refreshing, the characters well developed... The only hing that bothers me is that damn cliffhanger!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review - Lovers of Paranormal.

WOW! Werewolves with a difference. This story wasn't really what I was expecting. Right from the very beginning it led me down a path I wasn't familiar with. A town where the wolves openly lived with the human townspeople. Jade's dislike of the wolves and her strained relationship with Dominic made me hope for a happily-ever-after for them. That was very short lived when his little secret came out. I didn't quite know how I felt about Aidan at first but found I was hooked without meaning to be.

The plot kept developing and taking me to places I wasn't expecting. I was keeping an eye on the page numbers as I got towards the end and with only 4 to go was thinking the wrapping up had to be intense. I couldn't believe it that I didn't get the 'wrap'! I still want more!! I wasn't ready for the book to end. I can't wait for the continuation.

A thoroughly good read made more so by the new twist on a theme. Thank you

"Holy sugar sticks!" This was a really good book :)

Deadly Crush is an amazing read. Once you start it, you will not want to put it down. This book is full of twists and turns and plenty of surprises. The first chapter was so great that it immediately pulled me in and made me want to read the rest.

I have read and enjoyed other books from Ashley Stoyanoff so I opened this book expecting great things and I was not disappointed. I look forward to the next book in this series. I LOVED this book.

This is an amazing first book to a new series and I can't wait to read more. Lots of amazing characters, suspense, action, mystery, romance and werewolves. Once you get pulled into this story it is very hard to put down.

Jade Shaw hates the pack and everything about it. After it took her best friend from her she wants nothing to do with the werewolves, but when Aidan Collins moves to town Jade has no idea how far she will be pulled into the pack and their ranks.

Ashley Stoyanoff is an amazing author and could not have done better writing Deadly Crush. I can't wait to read book two in the series and see what happens to Jade, Aidan and the rest of the pack.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the author through the Goodreads' group "Lovers of Paranormal". Welcome to the world of teenage drama, jealousy, love, and heartache. Did I also mention teenage bone cracking and facial hair sprouting? Deadly Crush is a new spin and new rules on an old legend... werewolves.

Overall, it was good. It kept me entertained, and interested for what was happening next. Being a change of pace from the adult werewolf books I usually read, it was definitely different, but still just as good. The characters were developed well, the story was intriguing. I would be surprised if I didn't get the next book in the series just to see more of what's to come.

Was I the only one who didn't like this? Sheesh.
description
Be prepared to read this review...

It just felt so childish. I mean it is Young-Adult.

Jade. Oh Jade.
She annoyed me. She just felt so over exaggerated to me, especially with her dislike towards the pack. I thought it was some big issue, but her reasoning was totally ridiculous. It wasn't even that big of a deal. She needed to get over it.

Maybe if I had read this when I was 13, I would have liked this. Not the 19 year old me. Even though it is young-adult, I had some hope for this, but I was let down. I thought she was a wolf, Jade is not a wolf because why else would you being avoiding the pack? Well she's not a wolf yet.

Humans Know About Werewolves.
In the middle of who-knows-where "Dog Mountain" small town humans and wolves live together. No back story, origin, no nothing. It just simply is. I wonder how that works. Wolves run everything and humans just accept it and there's no conflict b/w them-->I doubt that.

What I got out if it is. Wolves can be born I think, but I know you can be bitten and turned.

Jade and Aidan's relationship really bothered me.
They kept going back and forth. There was absolutely no base in their relationship. Literally, they barely met for a few seconds. Then Aidan followed her around as a wolf, she thinking it was her ex best friend Dominic and then she finds out it wasn't him and then boom her and Aidan kiss. Ugh Okay.

description

Aidan
Aidan is Alpha by right because he killed the old pack leader. The old pack leader was a dirt bag, but no one did anything about it. Wtf? Aidan was just passing through town and saw him beating up the alpha female, and killed him. The Packs history and back ground, not explored at all. We don't know how the pack works at all, I mean obviously we do by reading other wolf stories and by real life wolves but here the dynamic and reveal of the whole thing wasn't good.

Side Note.--> Branding the letter "A" on the Alpha, I thought was pointless. Did they really need a branding to let people know who was Alpha? Everyone practically knew who he was (Jade didn't. Typical) and it was hidden under his shirt anyway. Alpha's emit strong Alpha Pheromones & Aidan was so not it. Even though Aidan apparently thinks Jade does even though she's human. It was more like her "fiercely" pissed off mood toward Dominic.

description

Eirka
She was your typical bitch who wanted Aidan and be Alpha bitch. Her and Jade have a fight, which didn't last very long because somehow Jade was able to have Eirka submit when she's human and Eirka's wolf. Oh and Jade bites her and they become goody-goody "best friends." Wow. I'm rolling my eyes here.

Dominic I'm not going to bother with because he is the only one I kind of liked out of everyone.

The whole thing was just...

I must say I was rather pleasantly surprised by "Deadly Crush."
So many books claim to have a strong protagonist female but when it is all said and done, the women cower down to the males seeking their protection. This is truly not the case in this book. Jade, the main character, is strong and refuses to cower to the will of anyone.

Jade lives in a small town called Dog Mountain. Everyone knows the town is run by werewolves. Jade lost her childhood friend and BFF, Dominic to the pack two years ago. Since that time they barely speak and when they do, the female in the pack try to bully Jade.

Then one day a stranger named Aiden comes to town (Don't they always?). He catches the Alpha beating a girl senseless. He ends up killing him to stop the abuse and in doing he becomes the new Alpha.

When Jade meets Aiden she is instantly attracted to him; but, she does not realize he is the new Alpha. She gets the chance to kiss him and cannot believe how he makes her feel. However, she storms off in an angry fit when she discovers he is a were. Soon the women of the pack are fighting her for dominance and the right to become Alpha female. Jade bravely wins the battles not realizes she is now in the running. When she discovers the truth she is hurt but more importantly she learns that a neighboring pack of cougars are using women as broodmares. She is not about to allow this to continue.

I enjoyed this read and read it in one sitting. The writing was good and the character of Jade was truly admirable. My only criticism is that I hated the love triangle aspect that is so pervasive is YA literature today. Why do authors feel teens are constantly struggling to figure out who they love? Oh well, it did not spoil the read for me. Check out this book, you will totally be surprised.

It's been a long time since I've read a self published book as I find that they have editing issues more often than not, I can't get through them then, and it's a waste of time when I could be reading something I'll actually enjoy.

But I was in the mood for something with werewolves and decided to give this one a go. And every once in a blue moon, a hidden gem can be discovered in the self publishing world, and this is what happened here.

The editing was top notch, the characters were likeable, or unlikeable, as the story required. Awesome!!

Oh, and first book is free on Amazon so it costs nothing to give it a go.

OMG!!!! Loved this story!!!! I won an ebook copy in a Facebook contest from International Girls YA Book Club! Thank you so much!! Great story! I loved watching Jade come into her own power as a young woman and yet she was strong and compassionate even when confused and upset. My only disappointment is the next book is not written yet!!! Can't wait to see what happens next!!!

I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Howling At The Moon Stars!
An Amazing Start To A Rockin’ New Series!

The Review:
Another Fascinating Tale By A Remarkable and Talented Author!

Deadly Crush is the very first book in Ashley Stoyanoff’s brand new Young Adult/New Adult Deadly Trilogy. I became a huge fan of Ashley’s when I read her first book in her Soul’s Mark series which blew my mind. So I was really excited when I got this eARC for her new trilogy and I was most definitely NOT disappointed. This author has a talent for writing amazing and creative stories with the best characters, especially the heroine, who is sometimes flawed but always strong and fierce. This book was no different. I loved every exciting moment.

Story...
Killing the Alpha male and inheriting his pack on his first night in a town he was just passing through was never nineteen year old Aidan’s plan. But once the dice was rolled, he was thrilled to follow in the footsteps of his alpha father and be this packs new leader. Now all he has to do is change the unruly ways of the rogue pack, declare a winning mate out of the small group of rivaling she-wolves and not fall for the one human who's caught his attention and is totally off limits. Trouble is, the pack is resistant to change and they are challenging his every decision, the she-wolves are all conniving and treacherous and there's something different about the human, Jade, that calls to his inner wolf he just can’t resist.

Everything is spinning out of control!

Jade has never had anything but heartbreak and bitterness when it comes to the werewolf pack at Dog Mountain. Everyone in their small community either gives them a wide berth or loves them. But stealing away her best friend two years before, only cemented how cruel they can be as they roam the town taking anything and everything they want, when they want. Worse yet, the pack as a whole, goes out of their way to avoid her or outright taunt her. When her ex-bff, Dominic, starts coming around after ignoring her for two years, it causes even more trouble and breaks those carefully placed walls she’s built in his absence. And then there’s the new mysterious guy who’s hanging around the pack that’s caught her attention. There’s something about Aidan that pulls at her ...and unknowingly puts her in more danger than she can even imagine. And things get really messed up when she’s unintentionally entrenched in the one thing she hates the most.. and she has to make a lot of choices and decisions fast, to save herself and those she cares about.

Someone is plotting against them and its up to her to find out who and why.

Characters...
Aidan desires Jade beyond all else and when the opportunity presents itself and there's a real chance they can be together, he goes about getting her all wrong. He wants and needs her submission, thinking that's what will bring them together. That's how he was taught to handle things but he’s never had to make concessions with a female that has nothing but alpha in her. In his fear of losing her, he causes her heartbreak and pain which is something she’s very familiar with, since that's what Dominic did to her.

Jade hates the pack for ruining her friendship with her best friend and she wants nothing to do with them but when Aidan shows up in town and snags her interest as well as the interest of the female were’s, challenges are set in place and unbeknownst to her, she suddenly finds herself turning into the very thing she hates. Even with all that going on, her interest in Aidan is overwhelming. With secrets running rampant and traitors in their mists, the pack sets a dangerous course to find the motives of a rival pack.

These two have to find a way to work together and with Aidan’s alpha instincts and Jades stubbornness clashing, things get out of hand fast. I loved watching these two fight what they were feeling. They struggled to find their way and they struggled with their emotions. It was a terrific push/pull filled with angst.

I also loved the side characters in this story. This author has a great talent for writing stories around stories which all come together in the end. Its fun, its entertaining and always a joy to read.

Heroine Shout Out...
I really love Ashely’s work. She always writes her heroines with such strength and honesty and conviction. They are stubborn to a fault and fiercely loyal. I loved Jade’s character. She didn't back down, even when things get beyond tough and when she discovers the enemy close to home, she puts on her big girl panties to take care of herself and those she loves. She’d formidable and though her heart might be shattered, she drives forwards with determination.

The Wrap Up:
This book was brilliant! It was smart, fun and completely enthralling. I started it and before I knew it, I had read the whole night through. This book leaves off with a slight cliffy and I can’t wait for book two to find out what happens next with these fascinating character and this enchanting story.

Okay so what I like to do with books sometimes is to wait like a week or so to read the book (unless I really, really want to read the book right away) so that I can forget what the blurb is about. I love not remembering what a book is about and just start reading it anyways. This was one of those books, and I'm glad because I love piecing stories together.

In Dog Mountain, the people there know that werewolves exist and pretty much love them - except Jade. She's been hating them for two years (and I can't say why otherwise I'd spoil it!).

Aidan didn't mean to become the alpha in this town, but now he is...and so there are these games(which is really fighing) that the females compete in to gain the title of alpha female. Jade and Aidan meet, but Jade isn't a werewolf and Aidan doesn't tell her he is...which causes a lot of conflict later on, because Jade is really stubborn and I really liked that about her. I also liked the fact that she doesn't like to back down ever and doesn't like being told what to do, so it was easy to connect with her because she kinda reminds me of myself sometimes (it must be the rebel in me). BUT at times she was very stubborn and I kept thinking "using some logic would be okay for a change and it wouldn't hurt to try!!"

Now Aidan, he liked to push my buttons! Sometimes he would act nice and sweet towards Jade or he wouldn't talk to her or anything, but since it alternates points of view you understand why, but it's still frustrating - at least I would get frustrated but that's okay, it's great getting tons of different emotions when reading instead of reading a book in a monotone way!

This book also has a lot of action and secrets and people playing on both sides and not to mention the romance between Jade and Aidan but the good thing is, the book isn't focussed on the romance - yes, it's there, no it doesn't overshadow everything else. And I love books like this because it has everything in it.

So all in all I really loved the story and the characters and figuring everything out and the second book isn't out yet and after the ending I need it!! So yepp I recommend this book to anyone who would be interested! 5/5 stars!

Hi everyone!!

Today’s review is Deadly Crush, the first in the Deadly trilogy by Ashley Stoyanoff!

All I can say is, zomg!!! I <3 this book!

I can hear you ask, don’t you <3 a lot of books??

Yes..yes I do.

I can’t help it! Sexy weres are my weakness! *dramatic swoon*

In this round, our heroine is one Jade Shaw, no relation, hehe.

Jade is strong, sarcastic, stands her ground, even when facing down those always bratty, wannabe alpha she wolves.

Basically, everything a girl could ever want to be in high school.

So why does Jade hate the weres? Because they stole something incredibly important to her.

Gods knows no one hates like a teen girl!

Trust me. Have a teen sister who frequently gives me the silent treatment via ASL.

Harsh!

Enter Aidan, our sexy, sexy, new to town were.

Rawr!!

Immediately, he catches Jade’s eye. How could he not?!

Over 6 feet tall, scrumptious, obviously works out AND defends her upon the first meeting!!

Knight in shining armour?! Gimme gimme!!

Ahem..

Sadly, I forsee quite a bit of heartache, bumpy roads and utter betrayals in the future for Jade and Aidan.

Which is such a sad, sad thing, as obviously they are insanely attracted and meant to be together!

Le sigh..The world needs more men like Aidan, if only the wonderful Ashley could bring them to life OUTSIDE the book!

Yes, you heard me right.

This is another book that sucks you in, twists your heart and doesn’t let go.

The imagery is so intense, I often forgot I wasn’t there, in Dog Mountain, living, hating and ultimately fighting alongside Jade and her best friend.

So, my lovelies, check out this book, tell Ashley I sent you and enjoy it, as I have.

Remember: Authors <3 reviews!

xx Tara
