Meg's Review: This was a short read that packed a very large emotional punch. Jace and Sephira are a young love that comes to a tragic end. This book shows how something so special can be torn apart so quickly leaving you in pieces. Thats what Jace is in: Pieces.
It was a really great read and I enjoyed getting to know Jace and watch him come to terms with what has happened. The story was well written and it flowed really well. I felt the dialogue was easy to follow and the chapters were just long enough to keep you wanting more.
Love this 4 star read;) Jace and Sephira are the perfect example of young love. They have been friends forever and have a special bond when one night changes there lives forever. This short read tore my heart up but I loved every minute of it. This new author shines cant wait to read more;) ~Raquel
This is not the type of book that I normally read, but I am really glad I gave this book a chance. Liz Upton tells a very emotional story of love, loss, and forgiveness. I will be looking forward to more of her books.
The beginning of the book is incredibly sad about a young boy who meets his new neighbor, a beautiful young girl. They become best friends but as they get older their feelings become more about loving each other. The young girl believes in God and goes to church but the young boy has dealt with the loss of a younger brother to cancer and the divorce if his parents and he's bitter and angry that if God were so good, how could he allow these things to happen. The two are arguing about their beliefs while driving on a rainy day and they have an accident, which kills the girl and leaves the boys heart shattered. From there, the story progresses quickly and most of it repeats itself word for word. There are many spelling and "auto-correct" errors throughout out the book and seems it wasn't proofread. It might have been a good story but was just too messy and too quick to jump from wanting to kill yourself due to a broken heart to immediately cured and found Jesus and the world is wonderful again.
