Contains all three books of the trilogy.

Beckoning Light

As Charlotte steps through the gate, she has a strong feeling that nothing will ever be the same again.

Moving back to South Carolina after three years away, Charlotte knows she’s going to have to face people from her past and adjust to a new high school, but she’s completely unprepared for what else waits for her in Charleston.

Drawn through an old garden gate, Charlotte discovers a hidden world where she meets Calvin, a boy to whom she is inexplicably attracted. As Charlotte is pulled deeper into this hidden world, it’s up to her older brother Kevin to rescue her. The problem is that no matter how hard Kevin tries, the rescue depends upon Charlotte fighting her intense feelings for Calvin while mastering a set of abilities that she has only just discovered she possesses.

Perilous Light
Would you sacrifice everything for a world you barely knew?

A year has passed since Charlotte and Kevin first stepped through the gate into Energo and neither has been able to settle back into a normal life. Charlotte tries to distract herself from thoughts of Calvin with the antics of James and her growing friendship with Liam. Kevin can’t seem to shake his feelings for Samantha as he adjusts to his new identity as a college basketball player.

When they unexpectedly return to Energo, both Charlotte and Kevin must face their fears and become the leaders they were always meant to be.

Enduring Light
Fighting darkness takes light.

Desperate to save James, Charlotte scours Energo for answers with Calvin and Liam at her side. Kevin and Samantha head to Alaska to find the one item that might destroy Blake, but the search is only the beginning.

As time runs out, Charlotte and Kevin discover that keeping Energo from eternal darkness will take a sacrifice no one expects.

3.5 stars. I liked it too much to be just 3 but there were too many issues to give it a 4.

Decent, but slightly disappointing...

Decent, but slightly disappointing...

I am a huge fan of the paranormal aspect of books. Alyssa nails that interest head on and even had some completely original concepts. What I can't stand, and it's nothing to take away from Alyssa's writing, is the love triangle...quadrangle or anything but the two people like each other will they or will they not end up together type of romance. Here's why...the girl or guy who happens to have two or more interested parties ends up agitating the reader because almost all of us don't have multiple people vying for our attention so we start to resent the character and label them as whiny and immature. I say "we" because I unfortunately fall victim to this mind set. Twilighs biggest complaint that I've heard is Bellas insistent nagging about the horrors of loving two boys...insert the whining here. Anyway, great story and the only reason I marked it as four stars is due to the romance aspect. Thanks for a magical trilogy Alyssa. :)

The Afterglow Trilogy transports you to a world that is just close enough to our own reality to be fantastic without being unbelievable and hard to follow. The ending is predictable, but if it would've ended differently I would've been angry.

I loved this series from beginning to end. The story goes from the world we know to the world of Energo in a beautiful transition that moves seamlessly. The characters are layered and well planned. I love that all Ms Ivy's series are interwoven as well. It makes the desire to read more.

Very Satisfying read!

This unusual story has many twists and turns which is enjoyable and fun to read. Plus one learns the story from the other characters point of view. A most satisfying twist at the end!

As far as Rose Ivy's book go, this one was the most hard for me to get into reading. It had a slow start and was harder for me to relate with. This may be due to the fact, it is more of a young adult geared trilogy than her usual new adult. If you are a firm believer in love at first sight, this book may be right up your alley. With all that said, it still contains all the things I love most about Rose Ivy's books- the fight for the greater good, love wins above all costs, with a dose of a paranormal all thrown in. About midway through the second book, the story begins to pick up with a love triangle between Charlotte, her gerard Calvin, and her best friend Liam. Charlotte finds herself in love with both men, unable to choose how to separate those feelings. Once I got to this point, I couldn't put the series down. I did think this story left gaps for future stories to come! Hopefully in true Rose Ivy fashion these characters will be seen again interwoven into her other paranormal genres.

I loved these books. I am a huge fan of romance, paranormal and fantasy novels and these had all three. The only thing that disappointed me was the ending. It was predictable in my opinion. I am now reading the forged books and will soon be reading the dire series. Alyssa Rose Ivy has a wonderful skill with words and it shows in this series.

A Wonderful Fantasy

I enjoyed this book for its drive, waiting for the next exciting happening, and for the purity to the story from beginning to the finishing sentence.
