About the author

Ken Johnson was born in 1965 and became a Christian at the age of 12. He quickly realized there were differences in doctrine in various denominations and sought out to prove to himself the correct interpretation of these issues that divide Christians. After an intensive study of the first century church he sought to bring back the teaching of the disciples of the 12 apostles. He has authored numerous books and made ancient Jewish scrolls available to the English speaking world.

He currently travels to churches inside the USA, speaking on these and other topics. He currently attends Calvary Chapel of Johnson County, located in Olathe Kansas.

Very informative reading on spirits and angles !

Very interesting book ,giving us a great wealth of books to research preload history ! I'm looking forward to learning more about this subject and how it all plays out for us today as time is quickly running past us ! A must read book for those of us who need to know !

Right to the Good Stuff!

I like getting right to the facts. I'm not a fan of reading a 400 page book that is 350 pages of empty chatter with 50 pages of really interesting facts sprinkled in.

This book is short but has more information and reference than most others 5x its size. Great precursor to further study or research.

Way too short for the price! Repetitive. All over the place. References the Book of Jasher, although the current copies in circulation are fake. Offers no new findings or information. The author contradicts himself, makes conjectures about myths, and shows an intense aversion to other faiths (I suppose this was to be expected, but there was no attempt to soften his bias). I will not be recommending this book or the author.

This gives many references to books that were quoted in the Bible but never made it. It has a really good glossary on Angels and Demons.It gives added information for Christians who are interested in angels and the preflood world.

Refreshment of your old knowledge

-I like about the part you see the reference verse. It's better to know about the bible.
-I would recommend to any Christians who has thirst for information of the pre past flood history.

Very Helpful

I found this beginner book to be an easy read as well as interesting. I also appreciate the reference scriptures offered. I believe this is a great introductory book for those wanting to learn more about angels.

Interesting references

This book is a companion to Johnson’s “Ancient Paganism”. There’s quite a bit of overlap in the material, but they are both worthwhile. As a whole, his books deal with material that other evangelical writers won’t touch. To his credit, Johnson doesn’t push politics, he sticks strictly to information found in the Bible, as well as Jewish apocrypha, and the early Church fathers.

I recommend them all. Even if you disagree with some of his conclusions, the information is fascinating. I’ve almost finished “Paganism” and it seems obvious that Christians should avoid Halloween and even Christmas because of their pagan traditions.

A couple of quibbles.

1. Johnson applies Galatians 4:10 to the brothers there celebrating Halloween. This seems unlikely. From the context of the epistle, it’s more probable they were celebrating festivals in the Mosaic Law.
2. I have the audible books. In chapter six(I believe) of Fallen Angels, Johnson names disbelief in the Trinity as heretical. He claims the co-equal, co-eternal Triune Godhead dogma is “clearly taught in Scripture”.

However, the only text he cites to support it is John 8:58, according to the KJV, “…before Abraham was, I am.”
Much can be said about this popular rendering. I’ll keep it brief…as a published poet and songwriter I can say…this translation makes no grammatical sense whatsoever. This is why even fervently Trinitarian Bibles such The Passion Translation admit in footnotes that in English it should read, “…before Abraham existed, I was.” See also the main text of Moffatt’s, An American Translation by Smith and Goodspeed, as well as the modern translation by Andy Gaus, The Unvarnished New Testament. "...I existed before Abraham was born."

Jesus merely states that He was alive long, long before Abraham. As the only-begotten Son of God, this is certainly true. However, the Father is the "only true God." See John 17: 3, 5 and 1st Corinthians 8:6.

Verses that can be rendered more than one way (The Bible contains many) should NOT be used as a basis for a doctrine by which others are judged as “heretics”. Especially when the healed blind man uses the expression “I am” in John 9:9. Paul also uses it in Acts 26:29.
Many Bibles use all caps in John 8:58 “I AM”, but there are no capital letters in Koine Greek. Trinitarian translators do this for effect, which would be unnecessary if a connection to Exodus 3:14 was plain.

It’s not.
3. Johnson also quotes 1st Timothy 3:16 in the KJV to support the dogma that Jesus is Yahweh. (“God was manifest in the flesh”)
Problem: virtually every modern translation renders that verse as “He was manifest in the flesh”.

It’s these kind of omissions by Trinitarian theologians that have kept me a Triune Godhead skeptic my entire Christian life. Jesus is the glorious Son of God, by whose name we are saved. (John 20:31). He is not Yahweh, but Yahweh’s Son and Servant who is at His right hand. Acts 3:13, 4:27, 30, Isaiah 52:13-53:12, Psalm 110:1, Colossians 3:1, Revelation 21:22.

In view of Matthew 5:22, Theologians should be wary of who they call “heretics”, especially based on the flimsy Scriptural evidence presented here.

Otherwise, a fine, fine book.

I have several of Ken Johnsons books and have learned a lot from them. This book however is seriously lacking. I had already read all this info in his Enoch book. I give it one star because the author does not go into any detail about the contrived being known as "lucifer". There is a "anointed cherub" but his name was not Lucifer. There is no being by this name( a contrived name found only in the Vulgate by Jerome) in Hebrew or Greek. In Isiah 14 the word is "heylal" (an adjetive) meaning "boaster or shining". Notice that the so called "serpent" of Gen 3 (nachash) could also be rendered shining one (i'm sorry but it was not a talking snake, but a Talking fallen one, bright and "shining"). The character in Gen 3 according to 1 Enoch 69:1is Gadreel.
The author basically only talks about 3 beings and one of those is contrived! And the nephillim.
My personnel opinion after reading Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees and the Bible is that the chief fallen angel "benei haElohim" is Azazel.
Also, if the this chief took 1/3 of the angels down with him where are they? What are they doing? According to the Scriptures and Enoch it's the demons (the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim) that are doing all the dirty work of oppression and possession. I wish someone would do a teaching without the old dogmatic
And mostly wrong theology about where and what these 1/3 fallen sons of God are doing. Not to mention since all the angelic host is innumerable then the fallen ones must be basically innumerable too. That's a lot of devils.
One other note. The words; satan , devil, heylal are ALL adjetives. Not nouns, not pronouns. They are not names!
The late Dr. Michael Heiser was the one that brought to my attention that the 1/3 is doubtful as the OT does not teach or support this.

This book is not worth buying. A big disappointment.

Gave It Two Stars for Effort

Was really excited about reading this until I read it.
The author, unfortunately, began his research with a Biblical translation (King James) which, at last count, contain upward of 5,000 errors. Add to that he injects his assumptions regarding Angelology, God's actions and thoughts and outright apostasy it's sadly a waste of intellect.

Stated reading Brian Godawa series Chronicle's of the Nephilim book series 1 - 8 and am starting #3.
I have read #1 and #2 ..I Read this book in 2 days, easy reading, educational and am attracted to this History. Thought it may pair with the series and it does help. I will read more of Ken Johnsons Books when offered free with Kindle Unlimited ..

Fallen Angels

I gave a rating of 5, it's a good book for general overview of the topic. Has a good amount of information for reference. I will definitely keep it on my self for periodic review.

Excellent book on angels

This is a great yet quick little reference book on the fallen Angels—their history, classifications, names, etc. Explains what “demons” are and the difference between a demon and a fallen Angel. This book can most likely be read in one day.

Learned something new

I've seen books very similar to this where the format works like an alphabetical dictionary. I learned some new things but others, not so much.
