Tripping Through

How can one person attract so much disaster?

Quirky, clumsy, and eager-to-please Karly has more than her fair share of bad luck.

Waaaay more.

We first meet our 29-year-old accountant in her loud (the fire alarm is going off) and smoky (she’s trying to bake) kitchen. During the chaos, Karly is dumped because of misunderstandings over a divorce lawyer she didn't hire and an affair she didn't have. This comes just weeks after performing a very efficient audit on a company…that wasn't actually a client.

Oops.

Single and unemployed, Karly continues tripping through life, both metaphorically and physically. She thinks her luck may be turning when she meets the perfect man but in true-to-Karly form, manages to scare him off. And he isn’t just “not returning her phone calls” scared but more “sprinting away across the parking lot screaming like a banshee” scared.

Crap.

Just as she thinks it can't get any worse, it inevitably does. Is Karly destined to lead a life of loneliness and poverty or does fate have something else in mind?

With an boyfriend who is convinced she is cheating, he quickly becomes her ex, a job that she accidentally might have shown up to the wrong destination and now in job limbo, and an uncanny ability to find herself in trouble Karly is just trying to get through the day. When her best friend suggests she join a group that is dedicated to people who have a knack for being accident prone or find themselves in situations no one ever dream of.

You follow Karly on her journey to normalcy which never happens because she is perfectly normal with a few quirks here and there. This was gut laughing funny, I would advise some form of ab workout before because my abs are sore now. I thought this was hilarious and found myself relating quite a bit to Karly, she is so my life. If your looking for a book that makes you smile and laugh this is it, with it's naughty humor and unconventional storyline it is so worth reading.

Tripping Through is a thoroughly entertaining story that follows the daily misadventures and bad luck that occur in Karly's life.

Written in the first person narrative, the author weaves a lighthearted and humorous tale that easily draws the reader into the zany trials and tribulations that the twenty-nine year old accountant deals with in her personal life and career. I couldn't help but see a bit of myself in Karly, I could relate to her on many levels, as I too have been known to be clumsy, and have also found myself in situations where you would think I had nothing but bad luck like Karly did. Karly's unfortunate mishaps and bad luck is enough to make any normal person shake their head in amazement.

Tripping Through is an amusing story to read, in Karly, the author has created a fun character who is so endearing and hysterical, you can't help but really like her. I enjoyed following Karly on her journey to getting control of her life, she's just a normal girl like any one of us, you gotta love her spunk and ability to muddle through all the mishaps, drama, trials and tribulations that she went through, and cheer her on as her story unfolds.

With a quirky cast of characters and an entertaining storyline that rings with a touch of reality that we can all relate to at some time in our lives, Tripping Through is a fun, fast-paced, and humorous story that will make you chuckle and leave a smile on your face.

First I would like to say that if this story becomes a movie, Sandra Bullock must play the main character; Karly Masterson. As I read the book, Sandra was the character I kept seeing in my mind.
This was a fantastic take on the life of a woman who had a lot of mishaps in her life, on a daily basis. These things happened to her so often that her friends nicknamed her “Strangeness Attractor”. If you could trip over a quarter, and end up in a full body cast..that would be Karly….If you could make someone angry with the words, “I love you” that would be Karly.
This book was a super-fast read, because everything that happens in like a snowball effect..the bigger it got, the quicker I read. Her troubles get worse and worse, until you think it cannot get any worse; and then IT DOES!!!
Karly is one of the kindest characters I have ever “met”, yet constantly has awful/annoying things happen to her. But, she is like a ray of sunshine because she does not ever give up. EVER!
She loses her job, boyfriend, and moves all within the very first pages of the book.
The question is, “Can she gain a momentum of enough good things happening to outweigh the bad?”
I highly recommend this book for those who like a quick read with humor and heart…If you enjoyed “Miss Congeniality” you will love “Tripping Through”.

This is the story of Karly A.K.A. “The Strangeness Attracter.” Nothing seems to go right for her; she always seems to step in it. I can relate. She is the accident-prone, the bumbling idiot, the Canadian Urkel. The best thing about her was even though she was a disastrous jinx, she still had a positive outlook.

Of course, nothing can compare to the mess of her bad break-up. Seriously, the guy didn’t pay rent, didn’t pay for dinner, accused her of cheating, and even took the toilet paper! That’s why she vowed never to date a “good for nothing TV zombie.” Good!

Karly is so adorable—she babbles when she’s nervous and she honestly means well. It’s not her fault that things take a sour turn every once in a while. By the way, I love the movie, Pure Luck, too.

Things get interesting when she develops a crush on Alex, a therapist for the accident-prone. But when it seems like her crush is unreciprocated, she begins speed dating, which leads to a series of bumbling fall-outs. In fact, the whole story is just one disaster after another.

Funny, charismatic, and quirky, this story narrates Karly “tripping through” life.

Tripping Through

I loved this book, I laughed out loud a lot. I can relate to some of what happens to Karley but OMG she is just an accident waiting to happen. You will crack up of all the things that happen to her. The only problem I had was the ending I thought there would have been more to what happen later.
