Am interested in some ceremonial/hermetic approaches to study, and thought this might be a candidate for what I was after. I found the preface/intro very enlightening about the history of the GD and other works, and how the "Celtic Revival" fit - or rather, existed and influenced - magickal orders of the time and coming forward.

However I only got a bit along into the first grade info and realized it wasn't what I imagine the course I'd want. It does admit to being not for everyone's taste, which I respect, and I may end up reading all the material for how he weaves Celtic and GD material/practice. But for now, I'll enjoy having read the historical background, and shelve this for another day.

I think I may have bought this by mistake because the cover resembles another book I'd wanted, but I tried to cut my losses and read/study it anyway, and even so I just couldn't get into it. I found it far less enjoyable than other books about druidry I've read. It's too focused on ceremonial magic for my taste. I like to keep things more traditional.

Overall I just feel like this was a waste of money.

I realized, after reading this, that I don't resonate with geometry or Celtic magic. I'm sure it would be interesting and better for people who are into high magic with a Druidic bent.
