This one was jut as good as first.

Quinn really shocked me and the biggest question I'm left with is was he always a player for the other side or do he find out about Cordelia and Jagger and joined for revenge?

That was some cliffhanger there at the end!
I'm sad Cordelia and everyone's finished at the academy!

So much happens in this book and I know we didn't get to know Martha really but man i feel bad about her!

I did for Quinn too until the end..

Im liking Jagger more and more after very page even though he does my head in being so protective all the time. It's like are you a teen or an old fogy!

This book gets so complicated sometimes with all it's twists and revelations you have to really pay attention or you'll miss something! It's so packed there's no room for boredom.

I love the anticiipation of it all, but I'm impatient and can't find a release date for book 3, is there one yet???
Anyone know? :D.

Anyway, yeah, real good sequel guys!

If you’d told me two years ago that I’d be reading books that were not only young adult, but full of paranormal characters, I’d have called you crazy. But I got sucked in by reading the first of Imogen Rose’s Portal series, which convinced me young adult didn’t mean a grandparent was too old to enjoy it. It snuck in a small dose of the paranormal, so I was open to giving it a try when she started a series that was definitely paranormal. Now I’m hooked. Integration has only set the hook deeper.

The Bonfire Academy series is a prequel to The Bonfire Chronicles, which currently has only one book, Faustine. Integration bridges the time from the end of Initiation to the start of Faustine. The focus is largely on Cordelia, although many of the students are returning, including one in particular who generates much of the book’s conflict. Some new characters also make their first appearances and shake things up.

I’m always impressed by Rose’s ability to introduce and integrate new characters in an ongoing series and to craft an engrossing story, which is aptly demonstrated here. But what struck me as I was reflecting on Integration was that she’s done a first class job of world building without me realizing it. When I think of a typical book in the fantasy or science fiction genres, I expect a large part of that will be describing a world that is much different than anything in real life, while having enough aspects of the real world for us to be able to relate. While Rose’s world exists on the same planet we live on and sometimes her characters visit that world, I realized that what she has done with the Bonfire Academy series is created a world that is just as foreign to the world I live in as a story taking place on Planet X. None of the characters are 100% human. Their emotions, reactions, and powers are, at most, sometimes human-like, but more often not. Maybe the reason it took me this long to realize this is that their goals aren’t that much different from those of a human teenager: Survive school, have fun, and find someone to hook up with.

Integration (Bonfire Academy #2) by Imogen Rose

Integration is book two of the Bonfire Academy series; this is a fantastic series that should be read. I enjoyed the second book Integration as much as Initiation book one. Imogen Rose is one of my new favorite authors, her writing is excellent, story line flows well and the characters are great. I really enjoy Imogen writing and as soon as I was done reading Intergation I wanted to read the next book in this series.

In this book Cordelia is now working at Bonfire Academy as an apprentice for Professor Bern and continues to be a mentor to Faustine, of course there is someone trying to kill Faustine and Cordelia will spend every moment she can trying to figure out the mystery to make sure no harm comes to her. And to make matters worse she still hasn’t figured out what to do about Jagger and Quinn. Knowing she has to break up with Quinn is harder then she expected considering Quinn has all the sudden disappeared. Then to make matters worse Faustine loses control of her powers and ends in serious trouble.

Integration keeps you wondering who is really after Faustine, this story is full of suspense, a tad bit of romance and some unexpected things happen. I couldn’t stop reading Integration and as soon as I was done I really wanted to read book 3. I love this series and cannot wait to read more. Imogen Rose has proved to me that this is a series to be read. I have rated Integration 5 star rating and would recommend it to anyone who loves paranormal books. This series is full of mystery, suspense, some romance and great friendships. I hope if you’re reading this you will check out both books.

Integration, the second book in Imogen Rose's Bonfire Academy series takes place a few months after Initiation.

And in true Imogen Rose-fashion, I fall more in love with these characters as the series goes on. I'm still convinced that Cordelia is my favorite character of Ms. Rose's ever. She is so multi-faceted and believable. One moment she is watching over Faustine, taking care of her, almost mothering her. The next she's a badass demon who is terrifying.

Then, there's Faustine. Who I first met when I read Faustine, the first book in Ms. Rose's Bonfire Chronicles series. As much as I loved her in Faustine, I loved getting a peak into what she was like, in this prequel, as a young teenager. She's quirky, loveable, and in the process of discovering herself.

With these two characters, plus a slew of others, I was left with an unforgettable story. A story with a couple of fantastic romantic situations, that barely just skim the surface as to what's possible for these couples.

Integration has the intrigue and suspense of all Ms. Rose's other novels, with a fantastically superb paranormal setting. The rule of the academy is "Trust No One". By the end of this story, I realized that I had done exactly what I shouldn't have. I'd trusted characters and was completely blindside by those that I thought, were in fact, pretty trustworthy.

This story was brilliant, captivating, and I can absolutely not wait until the next installment.

I loved this book; I can’t say enough good things about it, the story line is amazing and really pulls you into the book. Right from the very beginning there is something happening, there’s lots of action, romance and little surprise’s along the way. Imogen will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen next.

As all of you know by now I’m a huge fan of strong characters and Imogen nails it, Funny because you never thought you would love a demon so much! But I just love Cordelia She is strong, smart and not scared to kick some ass if need be but she also cares for her friends but she also keeps Bonfire Academy’s #1 rule at the fore front of her mind at all times “Trust no one”.

In this book Cordelia is now working at Bonfire Academy as an apprentice for Professor Bern and continues to be a mentor to Faustine and of course there is someone trying to kill her still. If that does not make life hard she still can’t figure out what to do about Jagger and Quinn. But when Quinn goes missing the search is on. But will she be able to keep her friend Faustine safe? Or will whoever’s after them both finally get them?

Great book but I have been busy so the I have room a couple days to finish.

The book still has me in suspense I have no idea who the vilant is.

I carried when a certain female close to Faustine's died. I was upset and confuse as why no one saved her. Wasn't Ryker there to wander her away even after being fatally wounded then. I am upset that she died.

Twice now Faustine's has bitten a chunk out of something other than food. Oh well at least she didn't digest it.

I knew it was fishy how can he be missing for almost a year and y'all just accept him back like he hadn't disappeared.

For this review I wrote down my thoughts before I started. Having read Initiation, I was very excited to get on with this book. I was excited to get reacquainted with all of the characters, and I had high hopes for this book. I was not disappointed! And something special if you manage to snag a print copy of this book, in the back there are character interviews with some of the characters!

Trust No One

Really, that’s it. That’s the only rule when you attend Bonfire Academy. Heck, anywhere in life if you are one of these paranormal beings. Integration brings Cordelia back, and this time she is on the staff at Bonfire Academy, along with Quinn, Jagger, and some other graduates. Right away, I love Cordelia again. She is inquisitive enough to get into trouble…lots of trouble. But she is intelligent and brave, too. Now, if you read Initiation, you know she and Jagger are synched. Jagger is a faery, and now they are together. The belong together, and will forever. It doesn’t matter that she is a pus dripping demon and he is a faery, their hearts recognize each other and stake claim. But by this time, Cordelia still hasn’t told Quinn, her demon boyfriend. This was so frustrating for me!! I found myself chanting in my head “Drop Quinn Drop Quinn Drop Quinn”. Really, I have a thing for Jagger, he is my flavor of the week. I do have to note here the only disappointment I had in this entire story was that Jagger did not get as much face time as I would like to see.

Faustine is back in school, and she seems like she has matured a bit. She doesn’t know all of the truths about her own life yet, and that’s a bit frustrating. I want someone to tell her about Ryker, for Pete’s sake! I swear, these paranormals take the whole confidentiality thing so far, I just want to scream!

And Mason is back, and it seems that money bought his way in. Now, if you are new to this series and don’t know who Mason is, you are out of luck because I am not telling you. J But he is a jerk, and I want him gone. Someone needs to tar and de-feather that bird.

This time around there are death threats left in the form of haiku poems on some of the doors of our favorite characters. Yes, there is a little cheese factor in that. But when you take in the picture as a whole, all of these characters are quite dramatic, so threats in this form only follow the traditions that have already been set. Nothing is normal at Bonfire Academy.

There were a few new characters introduced during Integration, and I am very excited to see more of them in the future, along with the old characters. I can’t tell you the end without spoiling the whole story, but suffice it to say the secrets at Bonfire Academy run deep, and really there is just one thing to remember.

Trust No One

I loved this story, and I am super glad that I got to participate in its tour, since I first participated in Initiation’s tour also. As with the first book, these are characters that you can easily identify with and care for. There was plenty of action, and some of it was really gross lol. But everything altogether makes a fantastic story. Imogen Rose’s writing is fabulous and she really has a knack at grabbing your attention and keeping it. The storyline runs smoothly and I couldn’t put the book down. I still just have one request for Ms. Rose – More Jagger! Oh, and I’d love so much to see some artist renderings of Faustine and Cordelia in their demon forms. They are some nasty disgusting demons, and I love them!

Integration is the follow up and sequel to Imogen Rose’s first book in the Bonfire Academy series, Initiation. In this second book, Imogen picks up from where the story last left off. Cordelia comes back to Bonfire Academy to start her year as Professor Bern’s apprentice.

The book starts off with a very mysterious prologue that hooked me from the start. It had me eager to keep on reading because I felt I was finally going to get answers to all my questions from Initiation. Other familiar characters who I grew to love are back and not even a day has passed from when Cordelia arrives at BA when trouble starts up all over again. This time, the stakes are higher. Everyone Cordelia’s close to is in danger and even more lives are at risk. There’s so much threats surrounding not only Cordelia, but Faustine as well and it seems like no one can be trusted.

Imogen Rose really added in the suspense and thrill I was looking for in the first book. I didn’t know what to expect in Integration and Imogen surely shocked me with the events that happened that I never thought to expect. Her writing is still just as addicting as it was in Initiation, but even more so. I couldn’t help but want to keep reading to find out what was really going on, to discover why all this creepy stuff was happening to Cordelia. I was happy that Imogen gave me enough information to appease my curiosity, but she still kept plenty in the dark to keep me begging for more.

I really admired Cordelia in this book because she really started to take matters into her own hands. She finally started making her own decisions for herself and she also realized what was best for her and the people around her. I was proud of Cordelia for finally letting go the things and the people that needed to be let go. I just thought that Cordelia really stepped up her maturity in this book. I saw that she was really growing into herself, finding out what she truly wanted and needed for herself. I love that Cordelia continued to be such a great friend and protector towards Faustine. I also love Cordelia’s determination to get to the bottom of things. Cordelia does everything she can to help solve the problems happening around her and she won’t stop until the threats and danger that continue to plague them all finally cease. Cordelia is a true heroine and I can‘t wait to see what she does next!

Overall, Integration was a great addition to the Bonfire Academy series. It was even better than the first. It was fun, fast-paced and exciting. Fans of Imogen Rose will love this book and paranormal lovers will enjoy such a different world and amazing characters created in this book!

I can’t wait for the next book and if you haven’t started reading this series, I highly recommend it!

You know that warm fuzzy sensation you get when returning to a series you love? That's the feeling I got when I picked up Integration. I read Initiation quite a while ago and absolutely L-O-V-E-D it. I loved the school, the 'trust no one' philosophy, the unique paranormal world that Imogen Rose creates, and most of all, Cordelia. So naturally I progressed into reading Faustine, and while it was a great book, I just didn't connect to it in the same way. Probably because I simply liked Cordelia better than Faustine. Hey, a girl can have favorites, right?

Integration picks up where Initiation left off, with Cordelia returning to Bonfire Academy to complete her internship and sort out her feelings for Quinn (her childhood friend and longtime boyfriend) and Jagger (the Fae hybrid with whom she's synched). Like all of Imogen Rose's books, the action starts quickly and doesn't let up until the end. Once again Cordelia is tasked with watching Faustine who is in being threatened by an anonymous and hostile paranormal, while also juggling her professional responsibilities and trying to locate her missing boyfriend.

Integration is shrouded in far more mystery than Initiation which I enjoyed, although having read Faustine first, I was always trying to put the facts together and figure out where the story was heading. (Given the opportunity, I would have read Integration first).

What I liked.... Cordelia is fearless and confident (despite nearly being torn to pieces the prior year). She's got a strong sense of responsibility and loyalty (despite her inability to do the right thing by Quinn). And although we are constantly reminded that paranormals do not experience human emotions per se, Cordelia exhibits strong feelings for both Faustine and Jagger. Despite being a 'new adult' we still get to see her struggle with jealousy, love and friendship. She's also got a great deal of spunk, which I love in a female heroine.

What I couldn't quite wrap my head around (spoiler alert!).... It seemed to me that Cordelia should have recognized that the Smelt was possessed and acted sooner, just as I felt she should have made some of the other mysterious connections more easily. I really wanted to jump in and give her a good shake when I felt the clues were so obvious! Fortunately, I can't dive into my Kindle though, because quite honestly, I'd probably never come back out.

Overall, another winner for Imogen Rose. With lots of action, intensity, and a highly original paranormal world, I look forward to the next chapter in Cordelia's story and am excited to see how it plays into The Bonfire Chronicles (Faustine's story).

* Note: This book is recommended for mature/upper YA readers as it does contain references to adult situations.

Imogen Rose has done it again. I have never been so engrossed in a series as I am when it comes to this series. I love everything about it and am always left wanting more. The writing is just amazing and she gets you so invested in the characters that you don't want to leave this amazing world. We start this book off by entering back into the awesome world that is Bonfire Academy. We are greeted again by Cordelia who is now actually a faculty member at the Academy and working as an apprentice for Professor Bern. She also gets to help continue to mentor Faustine. Once again I am amazed by just how powerful and cool Cordelia is. She is truly a force to be reckoned with. She is brave, strong and compassionate. The relationship she has with Faustine is so real and like a real big sister little sister relationship.

Cordelia and Faustine unfortunately have to deal with the fact that someone is trying to hurt the demon princesses. They start receiving haiku's that spell out danger. I loved the fact that the haiku's were so brillantly written and fit in so well with the story. They added the right about of mystery. Cordelia also has to come to grips about her syncing with Jagger and has to let go of Mason. I have to say my heart broke along with Quinn's when she broke up with him even though her and Jagger are meant to be. Cordelia finds that after that breakup things get really interesting and she suddenly has a lot going on. The biggest issue is trying to find out who is after the girls.

Faustine has really grown up and it was great seeing her going through her integration program to try to control her powers. She has a major slip up through that leads to some unforeseen events. The results of this action lead to Faustine really having to learn how to control herself. I loved seeing how much Faustine's dad truly cared for her and his ability to drop everything to help her out. It was such a loving relationship that they shared and great to see it play out throughout the story.

Overall Imogen Rose has created another amazing installment of the Bonfire Academy Series. I loved seeing all the characters back and all their interactions. It was great seeing them all grow up and come into their own. This series had the right mix of suspense and ramped up action along with romances. The writing flowed so well together and the plot was on point. I loved having another great glimpse into the Bonfire world. I have to say that I think Imogen Rose may have out done herself with this one. I can't wait to read the next book as we were left with the cliffhanger ending. Oh Imogen why do you torture us so? It's ok as I know the next book will make up for it. I highly recommend this book to others.

Oh, Imogen Rose. I love to hate this author. Two to four times per year, I lose nearly an entire night’s sleep. I blame her. I really need her to write a bad book because what ends up happening is that I’m up until 4am, sucked into the world that she weaves and feel hung over with lack of sleep the next day. She’s due for a bad book, right? All authors have that book that makes them cringe later, right? I was hopeful that this would be the one.

Alas, it was not meant to be. I ended up really enjoying this book. I thought for sure she would switch back to Faustine for her next book. While I like Faustine’s story, I really don’t like the character all that much. I’m hoping she grows up and stops being such a freaking whiney brat soon. I get that I don’t have to like every character, but I was so relieved that this book was told by and centered more on Cordelia (who is easily my favorite character in this series).

This book moves us along in Cordelia, Faustine and the gangs lives. We learn a little more about their pasts, a whole lot about their futures and have a glimpse into their future. The authors writing, as we have come to expect, is near perfection and the editing is impeccable. Extremely well done 3rd book for this series.

If someone held me down and made me say something critical of this book, it would have to be that I didn’t like the large chunks of time jumps. Imogen does this with most of her writing, but this one felt a little off and restarting the story felt slightly disjointed because of it.

I’ve mentioned before about this author… she is compared to Harry Potter or Twilight, and while I agree the genres are similar, the writing has a darker undertone and her protagonists usually have much more depth. I’ll bet Hogwarts never had a student eat another one, gosh darn it. Seriously though, the genres are similar, but the style is different. Integration has some dark writing, which one would expect as the story progresses and moves forward. I would probably let my 9 and 11 year old read it, but any younger than that, I think the carnage might be a little too much. Having said THAT, I’m pretty lenient on what my children read and I figure if they can read it, go for it. There are some curse words, but they aren't just thrown around.

Overall, an awesome addition to this series by a very talented author. Well done.

Recommended for almost all ages and fans of the author and this series. I would go back and read the first two, however. I think the background knowledge is needed.

Note: A free copy of this book was provided to me by the author. I usually end up buying them anyway so I can share it with friends.

I will start out by saying that this isn’t my usual kind of book. So I was a little out of my comfort zone when I started reading Integration. I can say that I got hooked and read it all in one day.

I can’t really decide if there really is a main character in this book. Some characters have more parts as others but there really isn’t just one. I could be wrong because I didn’t get to read the first one. I didn’t feel like I was missing much because I was taken back to certain parts in the first book to explain things.

I really enjoyed that I got to see so many paranormals in one place. I got to see witches, vampires, demons, shifters, trolls, and fairies to just name a few. I also got to meet new ones like trackers, and wanderers. It was great to have an academy that everyone could go to and help them with their powers. I enjoyed all the testing that was done to fit everyone’s needs. Classes for everyone to get introduced to so that they can get along out in the real world.

There were so many twist and turns going on that I never knew what was going to happen next. It has a good plot and it was fastly paced. I had no problem keeping up. Just when I thought I had it all figured out something else would happen and make me second guess myself.

I will be waiting in anticipation for the next book. It gives you a little hint at the end of the book. Just enough to get you in it’s clutches and just leaves you hanging. So if the third one is as great as this one then she has really outdone herself.

I highly recommend this book to anyone. If you love a book with some romance, suspense, mystery, and highly intense then you will love this book.

So I’m hoping that everything goes good for Cordelia, Faustine, Harry, Quinn, Jagger, and Mason. That is just a few of the characters. Some are good and some are bad but you’ll have to find out for yourself just who is who. So happy reading and let’s hope the bad one’s gets whats coming to them.

I really like the Bonfire Academy series. The star of the story for me is Cordelia. I know that the Bonfire Academy series is the prequel series to the upcoming Faustine Chronicles, but so far I like Cordelia more than faustine, so I am nervous that I will end up liking the Bonfire Academy series more than Faustine's story, but I guess we wont know until she grows up a little more and I get to know her better. I just hope she is almost as awesome as Cordelia. She is by far, my favorite Demon. :)

Integration is just as good as Initiation was. The students are a little older, but the mystery is just as captivating and gripping. The little haiku notes were creepy and thrilling. I am still itching to figure everything out. We do get some answers but they are the kind that bring on even more questions. The next book is going to be gooo-ood!!

I love Jagger. I longed for those romantic moments between him and Cordelia and I wanted even more of them that we got in the book. I am hoping to see much more of him in the future. I also really liked Colton. He is pretty cool and very nice. I can't wait to see more of him in the next book too. Quinn wasn't in this book too much, so I don't really know what is going on with him. He has gotten my attention and I am just hoping that something is missing and we will find the missing piece for him soon. Bonfire Academy sounds like such a cool school to go to, I love the idea of all different kinds of paranormal coming together to learn.

I liked Integration a lot! It dragged in a few places but I never fully lost interest because the mystery had me all tied up in knots. At the end of the book, I literally sat there in shock for a good couple of minutes! I had a few inklings of what was going on but to actually see it spelled out so vividly was crazy! Oh man, I have still not gotten over it. Fans of Initiation, will really enjoy Integration as well. If you like mysteries and paranormal, you will really like this series!

Anyone that has read my review of the first book in this series (okay I may have gotten a little fan girl with it but anyone who has read it or any of Imogen's work will know exactly why I did), Initiation, will know that I completely fell in love with Imogen's writing abilities after reading it so it was so big wonder that as soon as I finished the first book I dove right into the next. I mean after the fabulous writing of the first, how could I not?

And boy let me tell you, the prologue alone would have done me in if I hadn't already been so interested in this one. I mean, can we say page turner? Completely captivated me.

This whole book held my attention, something that I can't say happens in every book that I read.

So much happened in this story, so much was fleshed out and so much was left unsaid. I just loved it. It kept me guessing and speculation the whole way through.

I fell more in love with Faustine, Cordelia, Quinn, and Jagger and there were a quite a few new characters that were just as great as the old favorites.

Werewolves, witches, trolls, vampires, demons, wanders...oh my!

I couldn't of dreamed up a better cast of characters and supernaturals beings if I tried.

Just when I thought the writing couldn't get better or the storyline more interesting and suspenseful it does. Time and time again Ms. Rose managed to blow my mind, make my heart pound, made me smile, made me frown and kept me at the edge of my seat just purely wanting more.

The ending, well all I can say is that I think I literally gasped and went Noooooo! How could she do this to us!? Not him, never him. This changed everything!

I didn't think it was possible but Integration was better than Initiation and that in itself is saying something. I so can not wait to start Faustine!

Well done Ms. Rose!

I give this one another very solid 5 Stars!

ntegration begins betrayal, but you don’t quite know who is betraying Cordelia. We just know it is someone close to her. We then jump back two years to the beginning of the Integration years for Faustine and Cordelia’s apprenticeship. She is excited for this opportunity, but many things from the start make her realize this isn’t going to be easy coming back. Mason has returned and her problem of having two boyfriends and only one she can really be with. As the years go on so do the problems with Faustine and the shifters. Although, Cordelia is there to help and protect her she can’t always prevent her from what she does. Threatening haiku’s come into play and become ominous when one of Cordelia’s boyfriends goes missing. After dead-end after dead-end, Cordelia seeks out the help of Faustine’s father, the king of London. Many intricacies and plot twists play out and in the end we are back where we started a betrayal.

I loved this book. It was much more detailed than the first book and the story reached depths that I didn’t know it could reach. I loved the love triangle and you could truly feel the angst Cordelia felt trying to do what she knew she had to do. The diverse characters and paranormal entities really allows the story and those to come to go in many different directions. I love the story building and how it can just suck you in. I do recommend though that you read the first book, Initiation, before diving into this one. You will be given more precedence and understanding if you do so. But, I will say this read those two books and you will be writing Imogen Rose an email asking her to hurry up for the next book. I know I can’t wait and I have a TBR list a mile long.

Great follow-up to Initiation. I actually liked this one a little more than the first.

Initiation reminded me a little of the Mythos Academy books, but only because of the boarding school setting. The characters were fairly unique and interesting: demons, fey, vampires, weres, angels, and wanderers. Unlike Doll Chrissy, I love reading YA and have a ton of YA books on both Kindle and Nook.

The story begins as demon princess Cordelia returns to the academy for an optional third year. As soon as she arrives, she’s summoned to Student Council President Jagger’s office where she’s asked to become a mentor for a new student—the demon king of London’s half-human daughter, Faustine. Interestingly, while there, she becomes synchronized with him—bonded—which makes her relationship with her boyfriend, Quinn, a little awkward.

When Faustine arrives, life gets complicated in a hurry as her human blood becomes a lure for the predators among them. Right away, Cordelia is dealt a devastating blow, and if not for her bond with Jagger, she would have died.

Academy life is fraught with danger, but the intended victim is not who you might think. And this was the sticky wicket for me. For most of the book, we’re led to believe one character is the target, but when that’s proven false we never truly learn why the other person is the actual mark…or if they really are. The answer that’s given doesn’t really explain the reasons behind it.

Because the students are older, there are several references to them ‘getting busy,’ but no real sex scenes. In fact, it was milder than most YAs in that respect, but be forewarned …. they do mention multiple partners. I enjoyed Initiation enough to want to read the next one.

This is book two of The Bonfire Academy Series. This book is used to explain the time from Initiation to Faustine- Book One of the Bonfire Chronicles. The setting is a private school where paranormals are expected to gain control of their powers and then to become integrated back into human/paranormal society. Cordelia, Faustine’s mentor, is the narrator of the book. As Cordelia makes the transition from student to Academy intern, the danger towards Faustine still remains. Dealing with Faustine’s would-be assassin should be enough for Cordelia. But life is not easy for the demon princess of Paris- Cordelia also must deal with the unusual phenomena of synching with Jagger, a fairy while still dating Quinn a demon.

The world that is created in Initiation is farther explored in Integration. It is an amazing world where there are rules that are very telling of their society. The golden rule is to Trust No One. This is an especially hard rule for paranormals to learn. I loved that this school catered towards several types of paranormals- witches, trolls, fairies, shifters, demons, wanders and vampires.

My favorite thing about this book is that is allows you to escape into a world of make-believe. A world that you do not want to leave until the book is finished. You could have started the book at two in the afternoon or ten at night. It does not matter, you will not stop reading it until the end. So if you have a major project to present the next day or an assignment to do- wait until a lack of sleep does not matter to start the novel.

A great follow up to the first book Initiation. I honestly love Cordelia, she is a princess who is beautiful and has so much going on for herself, and oh yeah she changes into a monsterous looking demon who has pus oozing out of her. No big deal..

Bonfire isn't a normal school. Its a school for a select few paranormal creatures, and it helps them migrate into the human world without causing problems and how to interact with other creatures. When I first read Initiation I really wasn't sure I was going to like Cordelia, she didn't seem like a character I could relate too, but I was so wrong. As soon as she took on being Faustine's mentor she seemed to grow in my eyes and I loved her loyalness. Now we all know me I love my books to have lots of romance, but in this series I love seeing how close Cordelia and Faustine are. There is some romance but the 2 girls and all the crazyness that happens to them is really more the main focus.

Another awesome thing about this book that if you like YA but kinda get burned out on it this series is like right in the middle. Its not too YA but not Adult either.

I am eagerly waiting for book 3 after this books ending. It was a major cliffhanger. I am not complaining but man I need the next book now. This series is great. I love all the action, the mystery and there is always a surprise thrown in there. Its a series any paranormal fan will want to check out!

'Integration' is the second book in the young adult paranormal Bonfire Academy series. The book continues to follow the heroine, Cordelia, as she must find her missing boyfriend, protect those closest to her, and try to bring down the person responsible for it all.

This book is very well written and is full of mystery and romance, among other things. Although it is a paranormal novel that deals with a private academy for supernatural beings, there are a lot of deeper topics being dealt with throughout the story. Love, friendship, fate, courage, and believing in yourself are all prominent themes in this series. The characters are quirky and have unique personalities, especially Cordelia. She is realistic and her problems are common, which makes it easy to like her as the heroine.

The romance in the book is a good level -just the right amount of tension and steam without going overboard. The plot is very well written and is taut with excitement and mystery, which definitely made this a page-turner that I couldn't put down. Although the concept of private schools that paranormal beings attend isn't a new one, I think that this series gives a fresh look into the topic and has it's own merits with the characters, romance, and twisting mystery. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series!

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved reading it !!
I have to admit that I never heard of the author before I started reading, so I didn't really know anything about the way it was written or if I would like the authors style of writing or not.
But it's safe to say that I like it a lot since I read Faustine, Initiation and Integration in just 3 days !
What I liked most about the story is how complex it is. After reading Faustine I was very pleased to see different characters from this book pop up in Initiation as well as in Integration.
Cordelia is an awesome main character. She is strong-willed and very passionate about mentoring Faustine. What I also liked is that she isn't the typical main character that is stronger than anybody else in the book and that can fight almost everyone and everything. In Integration we also see her fall down, hurt and almost dying and still she always gets up onto her feet again to fight for the right thing.
I even liked the whole relationship between her, Jagger and Quinn because it shows that someone's feelings for a person don't change from one moment to the other. Cordelia seems to have a lot of problems with the decision of who is best for her and who she should stay with.
To finish this up : I loved this book and I'm pretty sure I'm going to read the next one in line very soon since that plot twist at the end really got me !

Integration is the second book in the Bonfire Academy series.

Second haiku warning:

A boyfriend missing
A lover must pay in blood
A princess must die

Welcome back to Bonfire Academy.

I received Integration by Imogen Rose for review from Allison Potter and Imogen Rose. As with the previous book in the series, Initiation, this book had a great plot line but unfortunately the language used was quite simplistic. To be quite honest, although I enjoyed reading Integration, I feel that Initiation & Integration should have been just one book, as except from Cordelia returning to bonfire Academy as a teaching assistant, there weren’t any drastic changes that really required a separate book. As Integration literally just picked up, word for word, where Initiation left off, and didn’t seem like a separate continuation of the series in its own right, I don’t have a favourite character. I’m not very fond of the cover of Integration, as although the colours within the image match with Initiation’s cover colours, the actual cover image, in my opinion, isn’t inkeeping with the story within & Initiation’s actual cover image.

Cordelia is back at Bonfire Academy but she is now part of the staff. She jumps right into her apprenticeship and once again she has to figure out who is targeting bonfire academies students.

I really enjoy Cordelia's character and am glad she is the main focus of the Bonfire Academy series. I'm sure I will read The Bonfire Chronicles but not until we get through Cordelia's story. There is a great amount of mystery in this series and the action is right on par. The twists and turns always seem to be in the best spots to throw you through a loop. I enjoy getting to know the existing characters as well as the new characters that are introduced. On the relationship front, Cordelia does a lot of heart searching while trying to figure out who she wants to be with and she does not take it lightly. The love triangle is put to rest when Cordelia finally tells Quinn about her synching with Jagger. I really like Jagger and Cordelia together so it was nice to see that whole thing finally put to rest.

I'm dying after reading the ending. What a doozy, talk about shocking and all around cliffhanger. Are you sure that person is a shifter wearing the person's skin? WHY? We have to wait how long to see what happens?? What a cruel, cruel author you are.
