Nexus: There is one truth . . . Everything happens for a reason.
C. L. Parker is a romance author who writes stories that sizzle. She’s a small-town girl with big-city dreams and enough tenacity to see them come to fruition. Having been the outgoing sort for all her life—which translates to “she just wouldn’t shut the hell up”—it’s no wonder Parker eventually turned to writing as a way to let her voice, and those of the people living inside her head, be heard. She loves hard, laughs until it hurts, and lives like there’s no tomorrow. In her world, everything truly does happen for a reason.
Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson:
I had the extreme pleasure of receiving an ARC of Nexus from the Publishing House and read it while I was out of town. I found myself finding reasons why I needed to get back to the hotel room early just so I could continue reading. :)
Nexus, the 3rd and final installment of the SUPERNOVA SAGA was an incredible read. It was highly evident how much heart and soul C.L poured into this book, and having read and thoroughy enjoyed Supernova and Cataclysm before this, it was inspiring to see how much C.L has grown as a writer from book #1 to book #3 (don't take that wrong, the first 2 were incredible, but this last one was simply amazing).
Taking place 21 years i the future following the conclusion of Cataclysm, book #3 focuses on Tori and Dante, though we still get a lot of play from our favorites - Dominic, Kerrigan, Gabe, Colton and Drew.
Nexus is a dark and beautifully spell-binding read that had me laughing, crying, and literally dropping my jaw in amazement. While Supernova and Cataclysm were gripping and sexy, Nexus grabs a hold and doesn't let go, and has knee weakening romance to get anyone's heart pumping and the temperature in the room rising.
I simply adore this series, and recommend that everyone read it! The SUPERNOVA SAGA is a unique take on the paranormal and has characters that will become your favorites for years to come. I am super sad to see the series end, but C.L wrapped it up beautifully and ended with a bang!
LITERAL ADDICTION gives Nexus a well deserved 5 Skulls. Way to go C.L!! I give you a standing "O". ;-)
Wow! Amazing! Heart wrenching! I never saw this trilogy come to the end that it did. It was saddening and bitter sweet. I loved it and couldn't get enough of it. When the last chapter was done I wanted to throw my Kindle against the wall, but I held my patience a little longer and wanted to cry for Tori and Dante. Although it was not the perfect HEA, I was happy that they got some kind of a happy ending.
After reading Supernova and Cataclysm I could NOT wait for Nexus to come out! Let me just say that this book was amazing and did not disappoint! I received this book through Netgalley to review and read Nexus in one day although I am very sad to see this Saga end this was a wonderful way to end everything.
Victoria Milena Cruz-Grayson is now 21 and the grown daughter of Kerrigan and Dominic. It is also her turn to fulfill her destiny. You will meet the old gang from the first 2 books and will meet a couple new in this book, including Dante, who is said to be Tori's destiny. The chemistry in this book will have you so wrapped up you won't want to do anything else but read to see what will happen.
There is danger, excitement, laughter, love, action and sadness along with happiness. You will be on a great ride of mixed emotions but gosh it feels so good!
I give this book a 5 star review and I can NOT wait to see what CL has in store for us next!
The 3rd and final book of the Supernova Saga, Nexus is a fantastic book in its own right and a wonderful ending to the trilogy.
Kerrigan and Dominic who now have an adult child must deal with keeping her safe so she can fulfill her destiny. The daughter just wants to run her own life and live a little.
You see where this is leading! Then she meets a young man who's destiny is tied in with hers. Sparks fly, and the rest is an great ending of Biblical porportions!!
You do not want to miss this final book of the saga. Keep the tissues handy!!
This book was awesome. There aren't too many series that end better than they begin, but Nexus was an exception. It was everything a final book should be. There was lies, sex, apocalyptic battles and the ultimate sacrifice for love. Oh how sweet and bitter and absolutely amazing! This is the kind of book I'll read again and again.
Nexus is the final book in the Supernova Saga (it actually comes out TODAY) and I’m so glad I got the pleasure to read these books and I’m also quite sad that it is over. To know about Nexus, you should read the previous books first. Be aware that this book is the THIRD in a series and if you have not read the previous two books there will be some spoilers in this review.
Nexus is about the daughter of Kerrigan and Dominic Grayson, Victoria Milena Cruz-Grayson, better known as Tori. Tori are a 21 year old woman who is a carrier of a mixed bloodline. She carries the Guardian of light from the Cruz side and the Guardian Angel bloodline from her father’s side as well as blood of a demon incubus. The carrier of a mixed bloodline, she was the key. Foretold by her great-grandmother Availia Cruz, Tori’s destiny would be to carry out something monumental, something that might affect the future of mankind. She is the Guardian of Mankind. What does that mean? She has no clue, to what is in store for her. Will she stay light or will her dark peek its ugly head out?
The family along with uncle Colton and Aunt Gabe decided to go to London on summer vacation to stay with longtime friends Drew, Sinclair and Dante Dickens. Drew is also a Guardian of Light. Tori will soon find out the Dickens’s son is a Guardian of the Guardian which means he’s Tori’s Guardian. His job is to protect Tori no matter what so she can fulfill her destine, which is still unknown to what it entitles. While getting to know Dante, Tori and he feels a pull to each other, and their relationship starts to flourish. Could they be soul mates, are they destined to be together forever? While trying to figure out what is going on with the feelings she is having for Dante, she is keeping a huge secret from everyone she knows.
Tori has faced horrible nightmares all her life, but when she turned eighteen they got worse. Demons inhabit these dreams and wreak havoc and kill everyone in her dreams. Soon not only is she seeing these demons while she is sleeping, but also while she is awake. Is she going crazy, losing her mind? What is wrong with her? There is also another man in Tori’s life, which only she can see and has been seeing since she can remember. They have grown up together, but during all these years she still doesn’t know his name, he will not tell her. Who is this unnamed man and what is his motives? Soon Tori will have her questions answered about why he wants her so bad.
Tori is facing questions she has no answers to. What was right and what was wrong? Which way was she supposed to go? Which was the lesser evil and what would be best for all those involved? Will her dark side take over and will she lose her light and goodness? The final battle between light and dark wouldn’t be fought on earth, no light and dark resides inside Tori, and that is where it will make its final stand. Will she prevail and choose the right side? Will her love concur all? What is her future with Dante. What is her future period?
Nexus is an amazing read, full of secrets, horror, and romance. The relationship between Tori, Angle (as Dante calls her) and Dante is a whirlwind romance, full of ups and downs. I was rooting for them the whole time and wanting them to finally get the deed done, lol. While I started this series, I was thinking I would be reading a book for teens, well that wasn’t the case. These books are full of adult content and I loved it. The author keeps up the pace with this book just like the previous ones. I thought I would miss seeing the relationship with Kerrigan and Dominic, but I didn’t because the relationship with Dante and Angle was just as hot and sweet. You get little snippets into the other during the read as well and see their point of view. I got sucked into Nexus and I absolutely loved it. I laughed, got pissed, angry and even shed a few tears. I will warn you the ending is heart breaking, but there is also a BIG surprise you will not be expecting. I give this book 5 stars!
If you decide to pick up this book, please leave a review for the book where you bought it. Every review helps the author.
Quotes from the Book:
“I swear, I’m dealing with some geniuses. Cooter….it’s right next to your pooter, which sometimes doubles as a tooter, duh! Ha! Lookie, snookie! I’m a poet and didn’t know it. I can also connect the pooter and roto-rooter if you want me to.”-Aunt Gabe
“I’m the Guardian of the Guardian, Angel. I believe you’ve underestimated exactly what that means. Partly my fault, of course. I must have failed to mention that besides the circumstances of our births and our markings, there was another reason my father figured me to be your protector. I can do things no other Guardian can.”-Dante
“No, I don’t just care. I bloody love you! And I’m not about to give up on you or us. I intend to fight for you, not because I’m destined to, but because I believe in what we have.”-Dante
Nexus is the final installment in the Supernova Saga. Finally Kerrigan and Dominic have found happiness. They have raised their daughter, Tori, to realize her important role as the Guardian of Mankind. They have sheltered and protected her. Now Tori feels she is an adult in her own right and yearns for freedom – freedom from responsibility and freedom to find her own path.
The family takes a trip to London to visit with their old friends, Drew and Sinclair. They have also settled into a blissful life together that includes their devilishly handsome son, Dante. Everyone has suspicions that there might be a connection between Tori and Dante – He is her protector and wants to be even more. But Tori is harboring a secret. A mysterious man has haunted her ever since she can remember. He is mysterious, beautiful and somehow dangerous. Tori must choose between her two powerful loves and discover whom she can trust. What is the price of freedom when the fate of all Mankind is held in your young hands?
Nexus was sexy, exciting and brave. I never saw the ending unfolding the way that it did and I love when a book can lead the reader down a path that they least expect. I was not a fan of Tori’s character at first. She was folding under the pressure that she felt was being placed on her and acted out in childish ways. Her saving grace was found in my favorite character, Dante. He showed strength and beauty beyond his years and totally stole the show. Nexus should grace the shelf of any paranormal romance lover.
My Review: Well let me say this up front, as for Nexus it grabbed me right from the start. But also as before some foul language is only one thing that I have issues with. But author C. L. Parker has once again kept me on the edge of a cliff and wanting more!
First, the new character are just as amazing as the characters were in the first two saga's. For one, Victoria, grownup, and searching, and learning just as her mom did... Yeah that is right, Kerrigan's daughter! And as for another character I think we all will love.... Dante! Steamy, breath taken, heartthrob! And that is all I will give you on that one! Living as the in the other two books, Supernova and Cataclysm, the paranormal in this book is played out in some awesome ways.
Nexus is the last book in the Supernova Saga. (insert: crying) I will looking for more of author C. L. Parker's work. These where the first books that I have read by her. But with out a doubt I will be reading more!
I am not going to add any thing else here. Due to the fact that this is the day that this amazingly, awesome book, Nexus is being put on the self's. And I truly if you love paranormal, recommend this whole saga!
Just know that I have enjoyed both the first and the second book and now the third (the last) in the Supernova Saga by Author C. L. Parker.
So due to the above I am giving this book a Breath of Life Rating of:
Five Clock Rating!!!
Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for my review. The opinions are mine. And your opinion may differ.
First off I want to start by saying...WOW! What a great book. I loved this one and didn't have a problem getting into it. I am sad to see this Saga end though, I want more of these characters, but with that being said I can't wait to see what author C.L. Parker comes up with next.
I read Nexus in one day and loved the chemistry of the new characters and the old characters from the first two books. I have to say I adored Victoria in this one. Victoria is Kerrigan's daughter and she is all grown up and has a destiny to fulfill herself. Oh and did I mention the hot guy who is tangled up in her destiny as well. Dante is, hmm what is the right word to say here...HOT!
Nexus is a roller coaster filled with so many emotions, but that's the reason I love it so much. I will agree with a couple of my blogging friends, this book is defiantly the best in the series. C.L. Parker took the last book in her series and left with a bang.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, C.L. Parker is one of my favorite authors and with this book she has nailed herself to that shelf! I must say that the plot of this whole series is amazing and so well thought out.
Another must read from author C.L. Parker and if you haven't read the Supernova Sage its a must! Well as long as you are over 18 that is.
This book simply blew me away. You'd think considering that, this would be the easiest review to write because of that, but no. To adequately review this book, I'd have to give away information the reader learns along the way, and it would completely ruin it for you. So, I'll talk about what I can instead ... the writing.
CL Parker really puts your emotions through the ringer on this one. She has become an expert at drawing each and every one of them out and then toying with them in a way that's wicked and bliss all at the same time. I have to say my favorite thing about Parker's writing is her ability to not only entertain, but to make me think. There are lessons in life that are taught through the use of these sinfully delicious characters, and I'm glad I finally found a romance author who is talented enough to do it.
Parker gave us two new characters to fall in love with, and fall in love with them, I most certainly did. Tori - the Guardian of Mankind - and Dante - the Guardian of the Guardian - are just so special and their relationship is quite steamy.
The ending ... whoa! I so did not see that one coming. It's unbelievable and quite believable at the same time. I cried, but somehow, Parker ended up making me smile in the end. Like I said, an expert at drawing out every emotion no matter how conflicting they are.
I will most definitely be reading any and everything this author writes in the future!
I LOVE THIS WOMAN. CL Parker is such an amazing writer. She had me riveted from the first moment I started reading Supernova. She again hasn't let me down. I was afraid that I wouldn't like reading about Tori and Dante... they weren't Kerrigan and Dominic. The minute I started reading however I was draw into their world just as fast as I was their parents. The characters are so well developed you can't help but fall in love with them all. You tend to feel like you are in the story living the moment with them. CL describes the settings so well that you can picture yourself right there with them whether it's to huge house that Dante and his family live in or the little nob that he created to escape. Sometimes you can even feel the wind on your face when Dante and Tori are riding on the motorcycle. This series is full of action, love and so much sexual tension you can't stand it. If you haven't read it yet I suggest running to your local store that carries it or getting your butt on amazon and buying it!! You will not be disappointed.
Netgalley allowed me to read this book in return for an honest review. C.l.parker is your go to gal for a good dose of romance. I loved the paranormal background. It was very intriguing. The explanation at the end did not disappoint I thought Tori was well justified, so was the love triangle between her and her two admirers. The ending was superb twist and the consolation prize was more than enough consolation. I will admit I read this book first and I have to say, it takes a lot of talent to make the last installment in a series stand alone as good as this one does. I was worried I won't get the plot but I was proven wrong. And I'm so happy for this author.and congratulate her on the completion of this dream come true for her and wish her many more successful conquests
CL has firmly installed herself amongst my favourite authors with this installment which is set 21 yrs after the end of Cataclysm. It was nice to catch up with everyone again.
This book had everything I love in a book from a kick ass heroine to a sexy hunk. The plot held me right to the end and I was kept guessing as to who a certain someone was and their motives. It had a bittersweet ending though, have some tissues handy!
I am sorry to see the trilogy end but I can't wait to find out what CL has in store for us next, it's been an awesome journey and CL has grew as a writer throughout these books, I hope she continues to master her craft. I'll certainly be buying her next book.
I am going to have to say it again. I read this one first. I thought it was book 1. However, as saying that I did enjoy it. I thought it was a fun read. Everything happens for a reason was said just right. There are a few parts that I didn’t care to much about. The biggest one was a part really close to the end. Other then that one part there I think this was a great book even if I did not read them in order. So now, I want to go out and read the first ones. Therefore, if you like paranormal romance this would be a good story for you to read.
Anyone who hasn't read the Supernova Saga, you don't know what you are missing. The final installment of the saga, "Nexus", is an awesome conclusion to the saga. Parker has proven that her imagination reaches no bounds. Nexus brings everything the other two books was leading up to to a finale that is full of surprises, twists, turns, and suspense. It will have you on the edge of your seat and rapidly turning pages to see what happens next. It has an explosive ending that will leave the reader with jaw-dropping surprise. Don't miss these books. You won't be disappointed.
Whenever I begin reading what I know is the last book in a series that I have loved I feel excitement and anticipation, but it’s always tinged with a little sadness and dread as well. I know that once I’ve read it that the story will be done. It’s hard for me to let go of characters that have found a place in my heart, and Nexus by C.L. Parker is no exception. Read my full review here: http://bookishtemptations.com/2012/09...
I have to say that this was the perfect ending for this series. The story kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I was so sure I had it all figured out and then BAM! Nothing was as I thought it would be in the end. If you read the first two books in this saga, I'm sure you will love the way CL ended it with Nexus. I highly recommend this book (but read the other two first!).
This is the third (and final) book in the Supernova saga - and no lie, it is my favorite. Hands down. The story continues with Tori Cruz-Grayson, the child of Kerrigan and Dom. And wow, does she bear quite a burden on her narrow shoulders. She is the Guardian of Mankind - heady stuff for someone in her early 20's. And then there is Dante - HER Guardian (and every girl should be so lucky to have someone so devoted to them!!). In this book, we travel across the pond to Great Britain and tag along for the roller-coaster ride of Tori and Dante. Seduction, passion and drop dead gorgeousness abound, but, it wouldn't be complete without some jealousy, misguided attempts to ferret out secrets, a man who is not all that he seems and a demon or 12 thrown in for good measure. By the end of the book, not only was I in tears (yes, grab your Kleenex for this one) but I was pleasantly surprised and completely enamored with the twists to some commonly held beliefs that Ms. Parker brought to bear. As I said, this was my FAVORITE book in the series and I was heartbroken when I turned that last page. Bravo to Ms. Parker - loved everything about this entire series!!!
I was able to read this a Arc from netgalley. I was very excited to read this book. I fell in love with Tori and Dante. I liked the love story that develop between them and enjoyed the watching them fall in love. With that said the rest of the book I found slow and a little long. I really had a hard time getting into it. It was a ok book not a favorite of mine. I actually started to read the book twice and walked away and started another book. I really had to force my self to finish the book. I was extremely dispointed in the ending.
I would have preferred to read the first two books of this saga, not because this cannot stand as a stand alone novel, but because I'd have liked to know more about the characters involved. Anyway this book was good, I'm only sorry that it seems it is the end....
THANKS TO NETGALLEY AND THE WRITER'S COFFE SHOP PUBLISHING HOUSE FOR THE PREVIEW
Loved the story. HATED the ending! ARGH! If it had been a book, I would have thrown it across the room.
My brain had convinced me who HE was and I was completely WRONG! Dante was a dream come true. Gabe wasn't so much in your face in this book. Loved seeing how Kerrigan, Dominic, Colton, Gabe, Drew and Sinclair lived!
