I'm a grumpy old lady who lives with an even grumpier old man in a small town in Washington state. I have three grown children, all smarter and more successful than their mother, and one adorable grandson. My favorite kid!
I write mostly romantic suspense, women's fiction, and light paranormal romance novels. Although my plots get kind of involved and sometimes twisted at the end, I don't plot my books out before I start writing. I create characters, throw them into a situation, and let them lead the way. I'd like to think my characters are unique, yet familiar, people you'd like to get to know. People you can root for. People you'll remember after you finish reading the book.
I hope you enjoy reading my books. Please feel free to leave a comment or review.
Why does the author keep having important and loving characters die between books. Pop died between book two and three but not much is said about it. He was such an enormous part of their last and present it shocked me. Now in this book a major person dies and the death is mentioned a couple of times. Both deaths brought tears to my eyes. Alex and her family are so dysfunctional. I got a big kick out Taylor. She's so funny and cute. Charlie has some growing up to do that is long past due. He finally does because Alex and Taylor need him. Donovan is still a sweetheart hottie even as a grandfather.
I love the series, but all of these books read the same. The characters end up together waaaay too quickly - like "madly in love and wanting to get married inside of a week" quickly. If anyone else did that, it'd be a recipe for divorce, but it always works out for them. The characters themselves are well rounded and have depth, and the plots are good, but sheesh. If I read the word "honey" one more time, I may scream. Other than the unrealistic timeline and overuse of "honey", the series is addicting and I really did enjoy it quite a bit.
I've just finished reading The Ghosts in the Attic by Sue Fineman and what a joyful experience this story is. Installment four in the five part Kane Ghost Series is perhaps the best read of the series. Though it's probably just that I'm being drawn into the characters and their situations more. I've enjoyed all the series thus far. Yet I can't help feeling this novel has everything and it has perhaps the best possible external conflict to overcome for a good romance. Full marks to Sue Fineman. Five stars.
I'll be reading book five, The Ghosts in the Audience, the day it's released.
