Now that Avery knows about supes and all the cards are on the table, there are no more lies between her and her three lovers. They can focus on building a life together and the future none of them dreamed they could have.
Ryder is struggling with issues at work and trying to balance what’s expected from him as a vampire in his hierarchy with having a normal life with the women he loves… And even the men she also loves.
Griffin’s pack is supportive of the relationship, but an Alpha’s job is never easy and they need most of his focus. He tries his best to be what Avery needs, but every time he turns around he feels like he’s said the wrong thing and can’t seem to get his act together.
Lorenzo is too much like Avery at times and both retreat into themselves when upset, but to Avery that seems like he’s always ready to leave her. He doesn’t know how to break that cycle but is determined to prove to her that he’s in this for the long haul.
But can four people from such different backgrounds ever truly live happily ever after?

⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ 3/5 Avery (Tantalizing Trilogies Series by Erin R. Flynn)

Avery was a really enjoyable read! I absolutely loved Avery as the FMC - she’s strong, smart, and easy to root for. Erin R. Flynn did a great job pulling me into the world and keeping the story flowing. While I’m usually more of a big-harem girl and the three MMCs weren’t exactly my personal taste, that’s totally just a me thing. The chemistry was still fun to read, and I appreciated how well their connections were written. Overall, it’s a solid, well-written story that readers who enjoy smaller harems and resilient heroines who’ve been through a lot will definitely appreciate!

Ok ⭐⭐⭐3.5⭐⭐⭐

It was an ok read... If you read Artemis University from this author, you will find a LOT of similarities between Avery and Tamsin...
I think this book missed a real storyline. We just read a story about a girl who won lottery, how she adjusted to it, her new relationships, but nothing else🧐
The world building lacked a bit. It was unclear if sups are authorized to reveal themselves to humans, what was their place in the society, etc.
I'm not sure about the way every guys revealed to be bi/bicurious eventually...it was a bit farfetched, and too convenient...😏

So, I struggled with this one in terms of ratings, but I think it’s being influenced by my overall experience with this author and her books, so I’m erring on the higher side since I don’t think that’s totally fair. I try to rate books as though they exist in their own little bubble for the most part, but I am going to explain why I’m having difficulty with that in this case.

I love Erin Flynn. I like her writing, enjoy her plot, and mostly really really love her characters.

Where I struggle is several points, and to be honest I would imagine she’s already fully aware of them, so me laying this out here in this way is probably more for me than for her.

A) it’s frustrating to have invested so much time into so many half finished series, and get this new one totally out of left field. Am I happy to be able to binge a series with a solid beginning and end? Yes! Am I wishing she had spent the time on one of the other series we’re waiting on instead? Also yes. I need more Inez and Arabella and Tamsin and Seraphine and Soraya and Acadia/Jasmine/her next alias. I also want to meet these other new characters she’s created, but not at the expense of finishing my time with the ones I already know. There have been releases for series that were started so long ago I can’t remember what happened and have to skim read the last book to catch back up. I try not to start new unfinished series for that exact reason now, and while she’s not the only one and I get that it has to be done at her own pace, man was I feeling a little tinge of frustration the entire time.

B) her writing is very distinctive, and all of her stories carry the same basic themes. After a certain point, they do start to feel repetitive. I would love to see her challenge herself with something totally different, although I ultimately understand that of course is not up to me, and I respect that she will do what makes her happy. I’m just talking big-picture wish list stuff now.

C) and again this is true across all of her writing - she does not write the way most people speak, and it can be distracting. There are multiple ways in which this is true, but the easiest example is that she frequently has characters start a sentence only to do an abrupt 180 halfway through and pivot to a different (but related) thought. While yes, some people do think and therefore speak this way, it is not typical, and certainly would not be the case for *all* of her characters to speak *the exact same way*. This is another area where I would love to see her challenge herself more - writing different voices for different characters is hard, but I do think she is 100% up to the task. Source: my degree in English and linguistics (i.e. thousands of hours spent learning about and studying how people speak and write)

D) I do occasionally find typos in her writing. Now to be fair, it is difficult to edit your own writing, and if she’s working with only a single editor, it can also be difficult for one person to catch it all, which is why a lot of big publications that can afford it go through multiple editing rounds with multiple editors all working for the same publisher. That is probably not in the cards for her for a variety of reasons, so I would like to suggest she consider using volunteer beta readers with an eye for grammar if she’s not already. Some of her books are better than others. This one only had a few; I’ve also read some that had a great deal more than a few, although if I remember correctly she did say that she was in between editors at the time that those were published. I mention it because if it was me, I would want someone to point them out to me so I could correct them. If she would rather not have it mentioned though, I hope she doesn’t see this part of the review and no one mentions it to her.

Ultimately, all of this is to say it’s not a five-star series for me, but as always, I am a fan, and will continue reading what she writes for us.

I am honestly mad at myself for finishing this series because it was so bad. It had so much soapbox preaching, and your feelings are valid. Ugh, it was bad... there was so much dialog that was all about her feelings being valid and that she was such a doormat. Now I have any problems with acknowledging feelings and whatnot. It was just too much, through the whole series. I wish there was more relationship building and not so much of her always getting upset about something and then not talking to them for days.

she’s such an annoying MC

I tried, I gave book one the benefit of the doubt then book two was very political for now reason (even if I agreed with many of the views) but I’ve given up on book three and her 1,153,624th breakdown over something small her man says. We women are not this fragile and I’m exhausted reading about. I have up in chapter 8. I can’t do it

Entertaining, quick read…easy series

If you want an easy to read (somewhat strange “cross genre”) series, Avery book 1, 2, and 3 is a pretty decent bet.

The series is a rather strange cross between Contemporary fiction, and fantasy/paranormal fiction. It follows our FMC, Avery who has a really hard life she’s navigating - a lot due to the fact that her siblings are AWFUL as in truly terrible human beings, and she’s constantly being harassed at work (she’s a teacher). On a particularly bad day she randomly plays the power ball lottery for the first time ever, and low and behold…she wins the jackpot, 2 billion dollars!!!! Suddenly the usually “timid” kind hearted Avery has to grow a backbone and make some important decisions! Those decisions cause her to leave (after months still teaching and “hiding” her new wealthy status) and move to another state, secure a top notch lawyer from a fancy law firm, and protect her assets from the scheming she knows her siblings will do once they learn she won the lottery.

Apparently her new lawyer is a vampire, in a vampire law firm - he’s a partner. Yup! Told you is was a little strange and a weirdly cross genre fiction series. Low and behold Avery has no idea that he’s a vampire, but is attracted to him and he’s attracted to her. She hires a head of household for her new mansion and ohhhh surprise surprise *eye roll* her new head of household was recommended to Avery by the vampire, Ryder, who is crushing on her. The house head has a son (who is a warlock) and he helps Avert with house stuff. Lastly, she hires a groundskeeper, who so happens to be…can you guess this one? No? He’s a werewolf. So Avery conveniently (too conveniently) begins crushing on, then dating the 3 supernaturals.

This series was easy to read, and went by quickly, although honestly it introduced a lot of characters both supernatural and human , oh and witches, but really didn’t seem to have what it took to hold its own for three books, as “odd” as it was.

Honestly, I think (aside from the fact that is was an odd series with gratuitous sex), the author just didn’t really join/meld the genres very well. Somehow, although, it was written fairly well, and the characters were cool with so much potential, it always felt like something…was just missing…just off. It was as if Avery’s regular (even when she won the lottery) life, was made up of her wanting to float away, drown, and sometimes disappear. But then she, in a series of strange events meets, three hot supernaturals who all want to be with her, (and manage to form her harem) even though most species of supernaturals do not get along. This happens quickly.

The book has some entertaining moments, and it ends with a HEA. But again, it just felt “off,” IMO. And definitely not the Great American Novel. Lol. Just waaaay too many issues occurring in the book, like all 3 supernaturals like her— want to see behind that sweet shy reclusive state of hers. And then the book is boom back to being a contemporary read, to, swoosh, hey it’s paranormal romance RH. It just never really found it’s footing as a series, however easy a read it was.

About 3.5 stars again... it's okay. Not a bad story overall.

First off, I'll get my rant out of the way. (There WILL be the odd vague spoiler ahead.)

What the actual heck? Lorenzo said in book #1 it was his first time with a woman when he and Avery were intimate. In this book, his ex tells Avery that they screwed all over his apartment, and Avery says she knows? (We find out soon that that was a bit of a lie.) Then a bit later while still at his place, Lorenzo says he doesn't want to take her in a bed where he's had other women. Other women besides even Abigail!
I had been a bit excited to read previously that he hadn't been with other women before. He stated it multiple times! This actually peeved me off that this suddenly changed so much in this book. HUGE inconsistency. Can't express enough. It may seem silly, but it annoyed me. Why say he had never been with a woman in that way before if he has been with multiple? ... Okay, I'm done ranting. (Virgin MCs are a favourite trope of mine, so it stuck out a lot for me!)

Things I liked:
I love Avery's friend, Melissa. She's probably actually my favourite character. She was bad@$$, got stuff done, was an amazing friend, and ended up even better than we thought by the end.

I kind of like the way Avery's siblings were dealt with... kind of. I feel they got off too light, but at least the way Grace was handled was satisfying. (Again, point for Melissa.)

Overall, the trilogy was okay. Avery somewhat stopped being a doormat (kind of, it was still a work in progress and usually needed a nudge from one of her friends), she and the guys were more open about communication, and that was basically the end.
**SPOILER** There was no decision if they'd choose to be immortal or not, but while normally that would bug me, by the end, I think I stopped caring.

It isn't a series I'll likely read again. It wasn't bad, really. I think the writing just annoyed me at times, the inconsistency, things happening that didn't have much point, etc.

Wow. Just Wow

I don’t normally write reviews about books unless i absolutely LOVE them and this whole series I absolutely LOVED. I felt like I was there with the characters the entire time. I loved the storyline, I loved the characters, I loved the smut (although I wished there was just a tiny bit of smut, but that’s bc i’m a HUGE smut fan). The series was so detailed, I got so lost into this series. I literally started this series at 12am yesterday 8/14 and it’s now 2am 8/15.

You did such an amazing job. You’re an amazing author and this series healed something inside of me. All of them are my favorite characters.

I relate to Avery so much, especially as a plus size woman. Lorenzo broke my heart for all the stuff that happened to him. He’s such a sweetheart and I absolutely loved him.

Griffin is such a “fluffy butt”, he’s literally a puppy and I loved him.

Ryder, god. he did not deserve what happened to him. he’s such a good man and so sweet as well.

I don’t want to go much more into detail without spoiling this series. I PROMISE you will NOT regret reading this series. Erin is such an amazing author and they did such an amazing job on this series.

I loved every single part of this series. Thank you so much for writing this.

Fun story

I really liked the trilogy. This book had some fun fun plot turns and it was gratifying to see the heroes overcoming fantastical problems as well as everyday issues like racism, sexism, jealousy, and the complications of joining families. I adore Avery. She is perfection, and usually that would be annoying, but she's perfect in a broken and healing kind of way. She sees her flaws, she works on her damage, and she loves fiercely.
My big complaint about this, and all three books, really, is that things happen suddenly and without explanation and it's VERY confusing. A character, who wasn't previously in the scene will suddenly just start taking like they were there the whole time, or the location seems to change somehow. I found it very disorienting, and there were many parts where I would stop, reread a page, or a section to see if I missed something, and not be able to find an explanation for the change.
Overall, still totally worth the read.

This trilogy is a feel good quick read that may leave you in tears for the trauma and tears for all the good that’s comes to our main character Avery. This is a why choose dynamic, that allows our girl to be with who she wants without breaking any hearts.

Don’t get me wrong Avery has a ton of trauma that surrounds her family and the resulting lack of self confidence only leads to more heartbreak for her. Until her luck changes … changing everything and putting her on a new path that leads to so much more then she would have ever wanted for herself. The past however catches up to her which was exactly what she was afraid of.

Erin is one of my forever auto buy authors, I have yet to not love everyone of her books in all of her series’.

I was a bit judgmental in my last review with how Avery handled the Lorenzo situation but seemingly after some explaining in this book on how she handles situations due to her trauma maybe maybe I’ll have to admit that she wasn’t intentionally trying to hurt Lorenzo.
This is an interesting series but the bad stuff happening to the FMC are really triggering so heed the TWs.
Melissa was the the star of this book and honestly I felt like the series needed like two more books for us to delve more into the paranormal stuff. I wanted to explore it some more given that the relationship bit was more settled and have more time to see how everything works.

Great Ender

I enjoyed this book. It wasn’t the kind that gets me to sit at the edge of my seat and feel the need that I needed to read the next page and so on, but I did really enjoy how Erin tied every book together in this one. I loved how each character had to overcome something big or small. I loved the intricate way this book was told. I do think there should be something in each chapter title describing how many weeks later it was. It was confusing at times. I loved the multiple love. Very good book!

Wonderful Trilogy

I enjoyed the Fantasy of winning the lottery and what you could do with it. I loved the part where the people in her life reaped what they had sown. I really enjoyed how it was stressed that the main character has a medical condition that caused her weight, and after getting the correct help could safely lose the weight. That it wasn't her over eating. Highly recommend.

Really Good!!!

I’m a big fan of Erin R. Flynn’s books. I was excited when this popped up on my suggestion. I have read all the Artemis University books several times over. That one is my definite favorite. This trilogy was a great fun read. Who doesn’t want to win the lottery? I loved the female character, and definitely understood her hang ups with herself, we all to some degree have dealt with body image and how people perceive it.

Yes and no

I liked the books enough that I read all three--hoping they would get better. The author does a pretty good job keeping enough mystery to keep this reader plodding on. However, each interaction involving dialogue reads like a therapy session and the sex scenes are more clinical than sexy or romantic. The female giving the werewolf a blow job in front of his all male pack was a real turnoff. Melissa, the vamp lawyer needs her own spin off.

The trilogy is good, It's really well written and has the right amount of drama, but I really can't get over with one of the MMC having the same amount of relationships as the FMC. I'm sorry, some people won't mind but to me it makes the book way less enjoyable, after all (in my opinion and preference) RH genre is focused on the FMC, but if one of the MMC has the exacly same amount of relationships then it's not really focused on her.

Without that, to me the triology would be a 4.5.

WOW!

This was a great trilogy! I loved Avery and her men and family. Erin R Flynn is a wonderful writer with a great imagination. I’ve read many of Erin’s book and she never fails to write a story that you will love the characters and storyline. The women are strong, loving and a little broken, but in a totally great way! I look forward to reading more of her stories and hope that Lala gets her own HEA. Thank you Erin!

Love hate

This series went from hard topics from abuse, sexism, racism and bullying then did a 180 and was down and dirty. The problem was the flow of it. It was like a straight up erotica got mashed with a story of political and societal short comings. Plus certain phrases were repeated way too many times. And the ending of the book seemed rushed like Lucias surgery and the twins testing. And ok is her name lala or Layla?

A trilogy all at once... I'm a big fan!

All three of these books came at once leaving no cliff-hanger hangover. Avery was an engaging character who encountered all the heartache and drama that Erin is known for. A must read if you've enjoyed anything written by her...

The final installment does not disappoint, leaving the reader fulfilled and the plot arc all tied up nicely.

wow looking forward to more trilogies!,

I’m so sad that I’ve read them. I would love to have heard more about Avery, Griffin, Ryder, Lorenzo and Melissa even if it’s just mentions in a different series.

Amazing ending to a quick reading binge. If you love Erin’s other books you’ll not be disappointed by this complete series.

Erin thank you for the writing you do!

Avery series - Erin R Flynn

W O W Such a wonderfully written, beautiful reverse harem love story. Hit all my high points. It was ajoy to read and experience the love of the "good" guys and the devastation of the "bad" guys. Thank you, Ms. Flynn. I am hungrily awaiting your next series.

Great end to the series

Read on KU. Great end to the trilogy wrapping up the loose ends very well. Sad to see the character I've fallen in love with go - hopefully more from them in later trilogies? These make an easy and fairly quick read with plenty of laughs and love. Really enjoyed these

So real!

Never read a why choose story as real as this one. Avery was so well written that anyone would be hard pressed not to get all the feels. The author will have the reader laughing, getting angry and sympathizing with the characters, especially Avery. Only issue was the pacing in the final book. It could have used a bit more detail for certain scenes. A solid 4⭐️.

I love this series, just reread it again and forgot how humbly beautiful it is. I normally don’t reread. I try to find “if you like this…then we recommend…”. But this one was sentimental. All the main characters are well fleshed out and the world building was lovely. Awesome weekend read for all 3 books.

nice to see a finish

I really like Erin Flynn. Her plots and thoughts (hehe) are good. However the stories she writes can go on and on and on. It was nice to see a finish. It did almost seem rushed but it was good. Also, side note, for the love of god. Stop. Saying. LIKE

I really love this trilogy. It is shorter than her normal books but by the end you know that the characters, Lovers, friends and family have reached a level of communication and understanding that will cover the rest of their lives.
