I first read this book last December, for a plane flight from New York City to Los Angeles, because the format of the book, which is a conversation, is perfect for a long flight. I forgot about the book, and by chance and in honor or an event I'm doing with William E. Jones and Jarett Kobek, I decided to re-read this book. The fist time was great, and the second read-through was not only great, but also insightful, in that it's great to read two artists having a chat about.... their art, art school, the nature of how films are displayed in museum exhibitions, MOCA's recent problems, the nature of museum shows, the nature of architecture, politics in art making and the distribution of one's work. When you get down to it, I really enjoy these two guys thoughts and how they express themselves in this book or conversation.
