Nice short book about...basically what the author does :p
This is a nice short book about how to find, hire, manage, fire and work with freelancers for small jobs.
Basically the author's business is to write kindle books. For this activity, he described his interaction with freelancers. The author seems to put thought into all aspects of his business...AND, sell that thought. In technical terms we call this "eating his own dog food" - dogfooding :p
Expect from this book the value equivalent as provided by a series of articles.
For me, it was fun to read this book, mostly because I found out how the author runs his business. At the end of the book - spoiler alert - you will find references to other books he wrote. Indeed, you can tell how his business works by reading his books... it's all there. He has a small business, and I wish the guy the best of luck with it.
Oh yes, also the author has a nice clean writing style, and the content is not repetitive.
I am falling in love with Steve’s books! This is the third one I’ve read and he offers such helpful, applicable info. I love how he gets right to the point without all the “sales-fluff” you often find in other books!
Plus it really helps that he gives specifics from his own experience and he’s honest when he isn’t as knowledgeable about a subject.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in outsourcing!
Overall, good. Great for people who've never outsourced anything, and a couple hidden gems for those of us who have (by implementing a single one of them the book already paid for itself and more). Downside: it feels more like a bunch of articles placed together than a book; I mean, it doesn't have the logical structure that other of Scott's books do have.
Whatever I'm researching, it seems Steve Scott has written a book about it. And they're all good, although some are better than others. This is one of those! Definitely more about freelancers than virtual assistants.
