Six hundred years later, his body is retrieved from the frozen, arctic lake where he perished. Re-animated by a team of scientists, Grant awakens to a civilization that has abolished war. He must be the… Peace Warrior. ************************************************************* Book #2: Peace Army It’s been six years since Grant Justice was brought back to life to help the Peaceful citizens of Earth defeat the Minith. Though billed as military science fiction, Peace Warrior cuts across genres and subgenres by incorporating cultural issues of nature and nurture, war and peace. Complex heroes like Grant Justice and complex issues like these hit the page with the force of an alien mothership biting the dust. " Isabella Morales, The Scattering Blog "Steven Hawk has written a sci-fi masterpiece. Each of the three books is a great story in and of itself. Together they achieve greatness. Hawk writes with the straight-forward, action-driven style of Asimov, and at the same time brings an inventive, provocative point of view like Orson Scott Card. If you like great science fiction with compelling characters, you'll be glad you connected with this trilogy. You will get a real kick out of the hero and ancient warrior Grant Justice, and your perspective on the concept of "peace" will be stretched. Enjoy! " Laurie Hathorn, reader "I picked up the first book on a whim and I was hooked. Immediately ordered the next two books and could not put them down until I finished them. Hawk does an excellent job of creating real characters who make you laugh and cry as the story goes on. I highly recommend this series to anyone and can't wait for his next novel!" J. Fiske, reader

This series follows Grant Justice through his death in the war torn 21st century into his rebirth 600 years later. Earth is now a place of Peace, under the control of alien invaders.
It's interesting to see how Justice goes from being the leader of a small band of soldiers to waking up in a world where the wars are over, but humanity is effectively enslaved by the Minith invaders. The entire story takes a very close look at how humanity could be in a post-war environment, and what price might be paid for Peace. To maintain a worldwide peace, those who show any violent tendencies are thrown into Violents Jail, where a rigid hierarchy has arisen.
Justice is revived by the World Council as part of an experiment with the hopes of humanity in the balance. Can Justice adapt to the state of the new world, or will his own violent past get him relegated to Violents Jail?
Awesome book, set about 700 years from now. Appealed to me because of the fact that the 1st book is free for kindle (great marketing strategy), and because I enjoy Science Fiction in general. This book is well-written (and contains a maximum of maybe 2 misspellings). I did find two things to point out before you read, though.
Otherwise, I would recommend this for any Science-fiction or military fiction fan.
The progression from start to finish is enjoyable. Five star in capturing the loneliness of command, and the home sickness if the deployed. Recommend for those who enjoy military sci-fi.
I throughly enjoyed this trilogy and look forward to rereading it in a few years. Old age forgetfulness is a bitch. These books are the type that got me hooked on military science fiction in the first place I highly recommend them not only for science fiction fanatics but for anyone who enjoys any type of fiction.
I began reading this series after reading the sequel. I have to say that it had great character development and non stop Rollercoaster action. I anxiously await another in the series.
