Nikki Spencer is all grown up, but the world still sees her as the little girl she used to be. She's ready to prove to her adoring public, and a certain rough riding rodeo champion, that sweet little Nikki isn't as innocent as everyone seems to think.

J.T. McCall has a reputation as a rough rider, both on the bull-riding circuit, and in the bedroom. So what's he to do when an innocent, like country crooner, Nikki Spencer, sets her sights on him? He plans to do what any good old country boy would do, save the lady from herself. But who will save J.T. when this little firecracker sets his world on fire?

This time we have JT, we met him in his brother’s story, with Nikki who we have met before.

Whilst I do like Nikki my heart went out to JT a little more at times.

Thus far, the Nashville Nights series by Cheryl Douglas has been an entertaining and highly emotional series of books. While not as enjoyable as its predecessors, Relentless is still a satisfying read featuring two headstrong characters battling themselves to find love.

Nikki Spencer has always been surrounded by country music as the daughter of a famous country singer. She has always wanted to sing and is finally making a name for herself when she again meets the bull rider who's been the star of many of her late night fantasies. She'd love to make fantasy a reality if only she wasn't focused on her career. I can truly understand her focus on her career but don't think that justifies not forming a relationship. It feels like an excuse and it's giving in to her fears of trying and losing love. She offers J.T. a fling, but the possessive cowboy starts an all out sensual attack to win her over when tragedy strikes that completely alters their relationship.

J.T. has always been considered the black sheep of his family because of his wild and womanizing ways. Next to his successful brothers he's always felt like a failure and with the end of his career in sight that feeling's only gotten worse. He's at a loss what to do in the future but knows he's ready to settle down and fantasy girl Nikki is exactly who he wants. I admire how focused he is in going after Nikki, but his possessiveness started to become a bit over-the-top and almost crossed into obsessive.

Considering how hot these two are for each other there's surprisingly not a lot of sexual interludes. There's a lot of talk and sexual tension between these two throughout the story, which allowed them to strengthen their bond, but made the story feel draggy. The ending seemed to come out of nowhere and in contrast it felt extremely rushed.

The Nashville Nights series continues to satisfy with its likable characters and their emotional connections. While not as good as the previous entries, Relentless is still a story worth reading and has set up some interesting possibilities with the ramifications from the events concluding this book.

Relentless is a contemporary romance and is book five in Ms. Douglas’ Nashville Nights series. Nikki Spencer is young, ambitious and determined to make her way to the top of the country music business. Nothing and no one will get in her way.

J.T. is a successful bull rider, a man at the top of his game and starting to think about retiring. He’s rich, sexy and has a reputation as a ladies’ man. He’s bad boy through and through and has enjoyed every moment of his life to date.

These two know they’re not right for each other, not when they’re at different stages of their lives, not with the age difference between them, yet somehow that doesn’t seem to matter when the attraction between them is magnetic.

Ms. Douglas has done a good job in making this a standalone story, despite it being book five in her Nashville Nights series. It wasn’t difficult to follow the characters without previous knowledge of the stories. The combination of country music, cowboys and bull riders grabbed my attention first, and I enjoyed this aspect of the story very much.

When Nikki and J.T. were on the page together, the sparks flew and their attraction sizzled on the page. J.T.’s character grew during the story, and I liked the way he settled down and wanted to change his previous womanizing ways for Nikki.

Where the story didn’t work as well for me was the plot. The hero and heroine’s relationship was very stop-start—usually in the middle of the love scenes. I felt a long chat might have solved some of the conflict between them since a portion of the tension was due to misunderstandings rather than genuine problems.

Conclusion: While this particular story didn’t work for me as much as I’d hoped, the setting and the easy writing would entice me into trying another of the Nashville Nights series.

Read this review on my blog! --> Book Travels

This book was sweet and fast. We already met these two in previous books and and we can actually see how they discover a way to be together.

Nikki is the perfect girl, daughter of Luc and is now trying a career as country singer. She’s really good and popular plus with the father she has every dream is becoming reality. She also have a plan for the next ten years and everything that matters to her is singing.

JT is Ty brother and after their parents sold the ranch, he’s following a very dangerous life as a rough rider, but he always thinks about miss Nikki and once they met again he’ll give her a night to remember.

Everything was fine so far for me, but the relationship didn’t evolved really well, plus there was no time and explanations about where things were going between these two. They are not my favorite couple but the book was good. Only wished to see more after they decided to be together. Nikki is set about her future and that’s great but she could also think about a love life on the side. She is not in tour the entire year and JT is the marrying kind now.

Great Series

Another great storyline, it's been five years since JT & Nikki meet but because of their age difference he wouldn't acknowledge he was attracted to her but now that she's older and tells him she has been dreaming of him every since they met. He felt the same way but because she is just getting started on her music career she doesn't want anything serious but after their first night together JT realizes he is totally in love with her & can't stand the thought of her touring around knowing there will always be a lot of men attracted to her and he is so jealous. Nikki is so worried there relationship will hurt her career so she stops answering his calls until his brother in the military gets killed and she comes home for the funeral, she realizes how much she loves him and they become engaged.

I really love this series and was looking forward to reading Nikki's story. I liked how it started out 5 years earlier to give the reader a bit of the timeline. I liked Nikki. I liked JT. I liked them together. I enjoyed their love story, but I did feel like it was a bit tame. I thought it would be a little steamier. I also felt like it ended quickly. I did enjoy seeing the past characters in the series. It's fun to see what everyone is up to! Bottom line, I really liked it, mostly because I'm so invested into the series and the characters at this point. I'd definitley recommend the series.

Nikki all grown up...wow the time spans between books is huge! What a young woman she grew into. Career on track and life going well. The two don't seem all that well matched, but does the heart ever listen??? Loved this story. Love the strength that Nikki shows in every aspect of her life. Love that she understands it takes strength to love someone else and to allow them into her heart. Onto book 6

This novel was horribly emotional and sad, in so many ways. I teared up while reading it. It was sad to hear about Dave in the end too. On the other side, I can't believe that Nikki, baby Nikki, is an adult now. Holy crap, when did that happen? It was interesting reading about her relationship with TJ, however I feel that the ending was too rushed.

Nikki and JT's story was a quick read. I found the ending to be a bit abrupt. One minute they were apart and then because of the tragedy that occurs they suddenly realize they belong together. I am hoping more of these characters appear in future books because unlike the first 4 in the series this book left me hanging~a bit of a disappointment!

I loved JT and Nikki. Like father, like daughter, Nikki reminded me a lot of Luc. JT, while different from Ty, was still one hot, lovable guy. I am really glad I happened across Shameless and got hooked.

I loved Nikki when she was introduced into this series, such a forgiving and smart young girl. I couldn’t wait to read her book. Let’s just say JT McCall made her work for it, that’s for damn sure! To Read my full review: http://wp.me/p3a6Qw-4D

Again, very cute, easy read. I have the same problem with this book as I do the others in this series though, a bit heavy on the cheese factor. Then again, isnt that why we read these books?
