I was born and raised in Charleston, SC, but now live in the hottest place on earth: Orlando, FL. I have three beautiful children who keep me running non-stop. When I'm not juggling life and kids, you'll find me huddled away somewhere writing my next book or happily reading someone else's. Like most authors I've come across, I'm a coffee addict, own far too many books than I can fit on my shelves, and I go to work in my pajamas a lot.

I was right, this was beyond emotional for me and while I still can't see why she really chose Kellan, I can accept it I guess and move on with the next novel in the series. I was really hoping Kai would be around for a long time because his character to me, was perfection for what a male character should be in a loving relationship. It was all quite sad and I feel defeated knowing Kai won't be around in the next novel. It feels like I'm missing a huge part of me now that he is gone. THAT is how well the novel is written! Christin Lovell has so much talent, she makes me cry. hah. Onwards to the next, I say!

This review is very difficult for me to write. I actually read the book last week and have spent a tremendous amount of time thinking about it. It is an amazing book and I believe it is the best of the series. it is also very different from the previous books. Yes it does have good vs evil, adventure, and all the goods stuff, but it really focuses more on the interpersonal relationships and self reflection. This is my favorite quote from the book because I think it about sums the whole thing up:

"How do you cope with the present when you know the future?"

Each character really deals with the prophecy very differently. They all think they know what it means and base their decisions based upon that. Some of it was very powerful and I even bawled at one point. I think that is why it has taken so long for me to get my thoughts on paper. I read a ton (over 300 books this year so far) and many of them I like and then do not really think much about. This one is sticking with me and I think I may actually read it again.

If you have not read the other books this will make absolutely no sense whatsoever, so you are better off starting with book one, which is currently free everywhere. If you have been following the series you really will want to read this one. Christin shines in it. This is Christin's YA series. If you are a fan of her adult only reads, this is nothing like them ;). Oh and if you do read this book, immediately after you read it, I suggest you go to her website and look for the teaser for the last book in this series. You will be glad you did.

my new interjection is "for kais sake" because kai dies! I cried for like a full 7 minutes and my friend who I recommended it to cried too I told her that kellan dies so it would be more of a surprise because of course we were on the same side we both agreed that kai should be with lexi! kai was completely my favorite he cared so much about her she was completely stuck in this on going love triangle until now I want to see what happens in the last 2 books that are coming out! this was probably one of the best book of the series im dying to read the next book! this book had all the elements of romance in it. I even wrote a report on this I called it the new twilight series!!! Well my friend and I have a ongoing inside joke with mels friend well we always say hello, love and all of our classmates would look at us like we were complete and utter freaks ha.

Holy sugarplums!! Make sure you are at home with a box of kleenex! This is an amazing addition to the series that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. I was not expecting the last 30% of the book. I think in the next book it will all level out and come full circle. (I don't want to ruin it by giving spoilers but this book blows your socks off!!)

Darkness Falls – A Thrilling and Emotional Paranormal Adventure

Darkness Falls by Christin Lovell was everything I wanted in a paranormal read—intense, action-packed, emotional, and filled with unexpected twists that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!

The main character is strong, determined, and fiercely independent, but what I loved most was her growth throughout the story. She’s thrown into an impossible situation, forced to navigate a world full of danger, secrets, and betrayals, yet she never gives up. Her resilience and ability to adapt made her so compelling.

The romance? Absolutely addicting. The tension, the chemistry, the raw emotions—I was hooked. It wasn’t just about attraction; it was about trust, survival, and finding light in the darkness. And let’s not forget the side characters—they added so much depth, humor, and intensity to the story.

The world-building was phenomenal. Lovell created a dark, immersive setting that felt so real, pulling me deeper into the mystery and danger with every chapter. And the plot twists? Mind-blowing. Just when I thought I had things figured out, Lovell hit me with another shocker that left me gasping.

And that ending?! I was gripping my chest, trying to process everything. I swear, I almost died from the sheer intensity. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster, and I loved every second of it.

If you love paranormal fantasy with heart-stopping action, unforgettable characters, and an emotionally charged storyline, Darkness Falls is a must-read. Five stars and an absolute favorite!

if i could give this book more then 5 stars i would.
i have always felt sorry for lexi and kellan for the fate that awaited them my heart went out to them
and when i picked up this book i thought it was the end for them for shore.
i fell in love with kai in this book he was wonderful and strong and did everything right with lexi in a time when she really needed some one and kellan was not there for her , so i was taken by complete surpirise with what kai did but as soon as i read the fate of what would happen again i new in that very moment kai was going to die and i started to cry my eyes out and right from then i just couldn't stop , when i thought i would lexi walks into her home and finds the sand ect i found myself crying even more.
im not normaly a person who cry's from reading a book since at the end it's only a story but this book really got to me i would love to give a big thank you christin lovell for writing this amazing peace of work i see why you killed off kai and your right love is easy but the rest you need to work at once again thank and i cant wait to read the next one.

I think my heart hurts after reading this installment in the series! I actually love how the author designed the course of the book and even though I cried my eyes out, I was happy with this book. There were so many ways the author could have taken this one, but she rocked it. This series is just so great, I'm actually mad to have to wait for the next book now:( Christin's writing is superb and definitely worth the read.

A great addition to this series! I have to say that I was really sad about the BIG surprise in this book but I can see where it made sense. The author says that the characters chose their own fates and I can completely agree with that. I am definitely waiting with baited breath for the next book! Great Job Christin!

This book.........I have no words for how good it was. This was an extremely emotional book and I cried for about 10minutes straight towards the end. I understand why the author did what she had to do but I didn't like it one bit. This book was amazing and I would definitely reread it.

This was a good one, i gave a review of it as a reader and a writer on amazon.

Yeah CL, this is a great book.

Lexi was an ass as usual and so, so intitled, but in the end it went the right way and Kellen made her get it in order and bod to the bone with him

Oh my how I hated this I understand the reasoning behind his death but I like to root for the underdog. Poor Leka! Well written some mistakes and repeats but overall the book is great. I really wish I could have some of the delicious desserts from bloody bakes.
