Since its inception, the city inside the wall has prospered. With strict rules set in place, a system has evolved to ensure that every citizen maximizes their production. If anyone fails to meet quota, the punishment is simple and swift; they are released to the unknown world beyond the walls. The city officials have just promoted Jordan Shepherd to the head of her department. It’s everything she has ever wished for… or so she thinks.
I'm Jonathan, a husband, father, and writer. I write because that's what I was born to do and I love doing it. Because of the support from awesome people like you, I get to do it full-time.
This is a short story and with most shorts if they are well written they leave you frustrated because you want more. Thrive has done this for me, I really want to know what secrets the city is hiding. Jonathan has a habit for me to draw me into his stories and keep my attention all the way to the end. The storyline is intriguing and is set in the future, everything that is bad for you is banned and physical exercise is a must. Jordon has just become the new head of the physical education department but it soon becomes clear all is not what it seems. By the end of the book things start to unfold and Jordon starts to question what she is getting herself into. I’m eager to find out what happens next and what lies beyond the wall.
This book is amazing! Jonathan did an amazing job with this book! It is not like any other post apocalyptic book by any means. From the way the world is thrown into chaos to how the world handles it is by far different than any other book.
Jordan has spent her entire life climbing the ranks of her career. She knows she has to be a productive part of society or she will be thrown outside the WALL. When her boss is released and she is required to go with and watch she starts to question how her society is ran. They did not do as the law says. When her friend and the historian Buie tells her that the entire society is a lie she soon starts to investigate. Jordan and the friends that choose to stand with her are thrown outside the city for treason.
Outside the wall is nothing like they expected and they soon learn that they are not alone when they are attacked my monsters. Jordan believes she is the only one that survived until she is taken by others. This all changes everything she ever knew. The other survivors are looking for Jordan's friends who also survived. This leads them to a place where they can be safe. So all survivors move there but know that it will be highly dangerous.
Will the other survivors make it to the new safe haven or will Jordan fail and thus freedom ending with them?
