Bushwhacked by the corrupt lawman Walker Dodge, Dalton loses his money, his horse, his gun and very nearly his life.

Recuperating in the dead-end town of Harmony, he hears rumors of a fabulous treasure hidden nearby and, even with Walker closing in on him, that’s enticing enough to risk staying. And then there’s Misty Valdez, the one person who claims to know where the treasure is, and she entices him even more!

But the price of her help may be too high for Dalton. With time running out, can he avoid Misty’s trap and find the treasure before the gun-toting Walker catches up with him?

Dalton (Dalton Series #1 by Ed Law was a good read. Although the plot was a simple one, everyone was after the ruby neckless that Misty was supposed to have, the story-line kept you guessing as to whether it really existed until the very last pages. The characters were easy to either like or hate. The ending...well all I can say without spoiling the story for you is that it was a surprise for me.

Good clean western without a lot of shooting. Dalton is left for dead when the Sheriff takes all his belongings. He walks to the next town and finds a church, the preacher takes him in. He establishes himself in the town working to save his money to be able to buy a horse and gun and leave before the Sheriff arrives. Worth reading.

An entertaining enough of a read. The lead character, Dalton is likable enough, along with the Pastor of the church and the action is enough to move the story along.

RUBY NECKLACE MYSTERY

Good short western that's not your typical storyline... The hero isn't a typical gunslinger, the shootist is a preacher and the bad guys represent the law. This is a good one... RECOMMENDED
