I could not put this book down! If you have any interest or questions about the end times and prophecy’s surrounding it you must read this book! As the author states there is going to be disagreement about how to interpret certain verses. The ways scholars interpret scripture are all explained in detail at the beginning of the book.

As you read through the timetable presented here be sure to look up the verses mentioned. Not a lot of verses are written out but there are ample amounts of references that the author refers the reader to. I did not look up each one but did look up most and found it really helped me grasp what was being presented.

I think reading this book will make you excited about what is to come and make you want to read even more of the Bible for yourself. I learned much from this book and will be keeping it on my bookshelf for reference. I gave this book 5/5 stars because it met all my expectations and I learned from all the information presented.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

Well written and answered many questions. Definitely read along with my Bible and suggest if you read the book to at least have a Bible on hand to reference back to.

Let's just face it, you see a title like this it either grabs your interest or makes you cringe away.
While the cover shouts dramatically at you from across the room, the concept of this book is really quite simple. A book, about The chronology of the end of (these) times as described in another book. The book of Revelation.
This book sets you up for anything you needed to know, answers (and often incites) eschatological questions.
Ron Rhodes does not lean heavily on his own opinion. He presents the biblical facts of Revelation, and includes two perspectives on points that may be called into question.

In short, it was a good read, not difficult to chew through, especially if you already have some background experience with Bible events.

I have been cautious about diving into anything regarding the end times because I feel like so many people have different interpretations, and I don't feel I have a strong enough foundation on this topic to recognize what may be true about it and what may be an interpretation that is intentionally deceitful. I read this book while also attending a study of the End Times through my church, which gave me more assurance about vetting the validity of this book. There are minor interpretations that are different, but I really like that this book presents several possibilities and then shows why this author feels a certain one is most likely and their why for it. Overall, I found the theology Biblically sound and in alignment with what I learned in my End Times Study at my church. This book is easy to understand and incredibly exciting! I feel so much more at peace knowing more about the plan God has in place for the end times, and that ultimately it is for good, for justice, and for His glory.

CHIRP AUDIOBOOK

Fantastic book that breaks down the many misconceptions about the end times and where we are now located along that timeline. I especially enjoyed the way that the author explained the importance of a literal interpretation at the beginning of the book… Seriously, there’s so much packed into every chapter that you’ll have to listen to it several times to truly grasp what the author is trying to explain to you. Great book to listen to as you travel…. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This book is especially good for two purposes- (1) if you want to learn about the Bible's end times prophecies and (2) as the one general book on the subject to navigate to your other more detailed books.

Rhodes writes in a very reader-friendly way, helpful to the new student, but provides all the references for those who want to dig deeper. In situations where there are multiple possible interpretations of a Bible passage, he says so, but then says why he favors one of them.

The chronological sequencing of the book is beneficial for both purposes spelled out above. And he also provides the life applications for the reader. It's not just head knowledge, it's important to your future.

This is a great book that puts a difficult to study topic in an easy to understand order. This book is good for those both familiar and unfamilar with scripture and the end times. Has answered quite a few of my questions. The best part is that he's not using his own beliefs, everything comes straight out of the Bible and he notes the scriptures everywhere so the reader can use this as a study tool and easily reference their Bible. I highly recommend this book for anyone and everyone.

Thoughtful exploration of the Biblical prophesies about the Second Advent

This was insightful, well - documented, argument that we are, indeed, in the beginning of The End. I appreciate the calm exposition rather than emotional cry that “the end times are here”. His rational is clear, precise and he is not adamant about the exact presentation or timing of events. He allows - and - explains other differing opinions and points of view.

Rhodes gives a simple and concise overview of the book of Revelation and I appreciate how understandable he makes one of the most complex books of the Bible. He takes a literal approach to the prophecies and gives a strong explanation at the beginning of the book as to why this is his method. He is also a pre-tribulationist, so if you are interested in reading from someone with that perspective, then I highly recommend this book.

Excellent aide in understanding when events will happen. Often I have gotten confused regarding events described in several different books of the Old and New Testaments.

This book attempts to (using scriptures) set the order clearly.

I read this in parallel with Revelations in The Message bible. Worked well for me together.

Excellent walk through revelation.

This was a very encouraging and excellent walk through Revelation and related end time prophecies. The author grabs your attention and holds it through out, while deftly illuminating the scriptures and leading you along the general timeline of events.

The book of Revelation is on apocalyptic events. I have
always found it a bit confusing with its symbolism,
and visions, but the chronological order makes it easier to understand.
I think this is a must-read book and clarifies why did certain
things happened back in Biblical times and how it affects us now and
for eternty.

This book is full of great information. However, I found that it reads a bit like a textbook, but a good text book. It was repetitive with the information, and I found it annoying how often Rhodes used the word "apparently."
Overall, it was a good book that wall be very valuable in my Christian walk.

For anyone interested in biblical prophecy, this book was excellent in that it presented all varying views thoroughly while still maintaining the author’s belief when examining the various possible scenarios. His is a pre-tribulation belief (like my own) But I very much appreciate it reviewing all other potential points of view. The audiobook was very well narrated too.

I chose to rate it highly because it is a very readable book on a difficult subject. I recommend it to all readers.

Dr. Ron Rhodes’ book is written and outlined in such a way as to be comprehended by any with a basic knowledge of the Scriptures. A lady at the Tucson Gospel supplies store said they couldn’t keep books such as these on the shelf because of things happening in the modern world.
No doubt.
I also have the book on audio and listening to it while washing dishes or cooking helps sink the material in a little deeper.
I’d also recommend Rhodes’ book “Israel on High Alert”, for obvious reasons.

I do have one minor disagreement. In the final chapter on the Eternal State, Rhodes cites 1st Corinthians 15:24-28 and says many have struggled to understand these vss. I’d recommend reading them, perhaps in the NLT. They just say that Jesus will turn over the Kingdom to God the Father, putting Himself under His Father’s authority, having been granted authority by God in the first place.
Easily grasped.
The problem for theologians is that these vss. conflict with the co-equal, co-eternal Triune Godhead dogma, showing God as having authority over Jesus. (See John 14:28, 1st Corinthians 11:3, which Rhodes also briefly mentions)

Rhodes then cites John 1:1, 2, John 10:30, and Philippians 2:5, 6 for support of Jesus’ equality with God the Father. Then he says Jesus will always be in subjection to The Father because that’s the nature of the relationship between the persons of the Trinity.

1. John 1:1, 2 and Philippians 2:5, 6 can and have been translated to have a sense different than Trinitarians say it does. (see an American Translation by Smith and Goodspeed as well as Moffat’s translation. These Bibles are no longer in vogue, but Moffat’s is quoted in My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers. A Christian classic)
2. John 10:30 says nothing about equality. It’s just talking about unity between the Father and Son. (see John 17:21)
3. Regardless of how these texts are translated, the Holy Spirit isn’t mentioned. So, they provide no support for a “relationship between the persons of the Trinity)

God the Father is consistently portrayed as being greater than Jesus, having authority over Him, having knowledge Jesus doesn’t possess (or that the Holy Spirit doesn’t, either), and giving Jesus revelation. (John 14:28, 1st Corinthians 11:3, 15:24-28, Matthew 24:36, Revelation 1:1)

This leads to the simple conclusion that Yahweh is Almighty God the Father, Jesus is the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit is the “finger of God”. (“power of God” Luke 11:20)

Once the Triune Godhead dogma is discarded, such “struggles” vanish.

Otherwise, this is a fine Bible study aid, and comes highly recommended. Ron Rhodes is an outstanding Bible teacher and a great asset to the Church.

"A Complete Overview to Understanding Bible Prophecy"

"Bible prophecy expert Ron Rhodes offers an easy-to-understand yet detailed chronology and explanation of end-times events.

The chapters are arranged around the major end-times themes: the rapture, the tribulation, the millennial kingdom, and the eternal state. Each chapter begins with a list of the specific events it covers, making this an extremely user-friendly chronological guide to end-times biblical prophecy.

Rhodes allows for various interpretations among Christians. Yet the sequence he describes is faithful to the biblical text, based on a literal approach to prophecy, and held by many Bible scholars.

As readers discover that they really can understand Bible prophecy, they will come to love and trust the Scriptures like never before." (From the Harvest House Publishers Website).

About the Author: Ron Rhodes, president of Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries, is heard regularly on nationwide radio and is the author of Unmasking the Antichrist, Cyber Meltdown, and The Topical Handbook of Bible Prophecy. He holds a ThM and ThD degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary and teaches there and at several other seminaries.

My Thoughts About The Book:
I readily admit I am fascinated about Biblical Prophecy and devote a portion of my time studying it. The good news is that I can tell you we know the end of the story. We may not know when certain events such as the Rapture of the Church, the beginning of the Tribulation, the rise of the Antichrist, or the 2nd Coming of Christ will take place but we do know for certain that they are going to occur in the future. For those of us who are Christians knowing that the Rapture is going to occur and that our glorious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ one day soon is going to return and establish his rule and reign over "the new hearth" is a great comfort.

In his book Dr. Rhodes truly delivers what is promised on the cover and that is an easy to read and understand chronological order of prophetic events. Even though Dr. Rhodes may have 2 degrees and be highly educated he writes in such a manner as laymen and Bible scholar alike can learn and benefit from his book. And just for the record, I am definitely a layman - so easy to read and understand works really well for me.

In Chapter 1 author Rhodes lays the foundation for the rest of his book by providing us with a brief introduction concerning Biblical Prophecy. Dr. Rhodes holds to a literal interpretation of the Scriptures and wants us to know that we not only can understand the Scriptures but that we can understand "Prophetic Scripture."

In Chapter 2 we get an idea what the times are going to be like prior to the Tribulation, with details about how difficult the times are going to become, which is a good segue into Chapter 3 where Dr. Rhodes writes concerning what the Bible teaches about the "Rapture." And for the believer, even though, the times leading up to the Tribulation are perilous and filled with much heartache and sorrow the grand event that occurs before the Tribulation actually begins will be indescribably marvelous. Dr. Rhodes addresses the controversial issue of the Rapture sharing the different views that Christians hold concerning it with his belief being that "Pretribulationism is the preferred view." And remember this point regarding the Scriptures and Biblical Prophecy that there can only be one correct INTERPRETATION; however, there can be many different APPLICATIONS. And context, context, context is always what is critical to coming to a correct interpretation and understanding of the Word of God and Biblical Prophecy. And Dr. Rhodes ably provides us with the context so that we can come to the right Interpretation of the Scriptures concerning Biblical Prophecy.

After writing about the "Results of the Rapture, the Church being with Christ in Heaven, and the Invasion of Israel" in Chapters 4-6 he then provides us with the details concerning the Tribulation- from its beginning with the "Emergence of the Antichrist" to its bitter and sorrow filled end - with there being sorrow and misery unlike this world has ever known. And Dr. Rhodes stays right on point not going off on so called rabbit trails or tangents but staying on track referring extensively to the Scriptures - both from the Old Testament Prophetical Books to the New Testament as he writes about the Tribulation from chapters 7 to 13. What a terrible time it will be. And reading what Dr. Rhodes shares from the Scriptures about the Tribulation and what is to happen after should drive us to our knees praying fervently and without ceasing for the lost.

In Chapter 14 author Rhodes reveals what is going to happen after the Tribulation and before the Millennium - that there a "75-day transitional period" separating them with a number of significant events transpiring. For example he writes that the "image of the antichrist that had caused the abomination of desolation at the midpoint of the tribulation will be removed from the temple after 30 days." He also reveals that "Satan will be bound from this point till the very end of the Millennial Kingdom." He also shares other events that will occur up to the point when the Millennial Kingdom is established - that is that period of time when "Jesus will personally set up his Kingdom on earth." In Chapter 16 author Rhodes informs us of what is to happen after the Millennial Reign of Christ concluding his book with Chapter 17 in which he addresses the issue of "The Eternal State." He is referring to that eternal state where "Christ delivers the Kingdom to the Father," the heavens and the earth as we know them today will be destroyed and a New Heaven, a New Earth and the New Jerusalem will be established and the saints of God - the multitude of believers from all the ages will forever more be with the Lord and one another enjoying the perfection and majesty of God and his son Jesus Christ as well as the perfection of our eternal dwelling place. And if the thought of that doesn't make you want to shout a Halleluiah then nothing can or will.

If you are interested in learning about Bible Prophecy - maybe you don't understand it or you are worried about what is going to happen and the things that are soon to take place, this book is a must read for you. Through reading the book with your Bible and heart open God will open your eyes to glorious Biblical Prophetical truths as well as to the glory of his Word and His person causing you to want to know him better, love him more and worship him both now and forever.

Ron Rhodes delivers an accessible, organized, clear, and well-documented chronology of events of the “end times,” the period where God intervenes in human history to complete His purposes, vindicate His holiness, and bring glory to Himself eternally through perfectly righteous final acts of salvation and judgment.

Prophecy by nature is more difficult to understand and interpret than other genres, such as historical or biographical narrative, for example. In light of this, a highlight of the book is an extremely helpful first chapter that introduces the topic, demonstrates why we can trust Biblical prophecy, discusses why a literal interpretive approach is best (reflecting how Jesus Himself interpreted scripture), and gives encouragement that the reader can indeed understand it. “When the plain sense makes good sense, seek no other sense lest you end up with nonsense.”

The remaining sixteen chapters walk the reader through these events, relying first and foremost on the prophetic scriptures themselves, but also considering various (and sometimes diverging) views of other interpreters. The chapters are not lengthy, and each is outlined clearly. In cases where details, timing, or other facets are not revealed in the scripture, the author acknowledges that these are areas where we cannot be dogmatic. Importantly, the book avoids the flaws of over-spiritualizing texts that refer to literal times, places, and people as well as over-interpreting texts from several millennia ago based solely on the 21st news cycle, emotionalism, and conspiracy theorizing.

The end times is rarely taught in any detail among faithful Christians. This work provides an excellent introduction to the topic with plenty of references and support for further study.

So many books have been written on this subject and I have lost count of how many I have read. Many of them are similar yet different authors have different interpretations of the Bible and how the end times will play out. One thing for sure is so many people have written books predicting when the “rapture” will happen and so many of the dates that people have predicted have come and gone without their prediction coming true. They take scriptures and try to interpret them to fit with the end of the world or the rapture being very close. It could happen in five seconds, five minutes, five years or five million years from now. There is too much disagreement on the Biblical interpretation of how and when these events will play out and this is another of those type of books. How do we know which author is correct in their interpretations? There is a lot of similarities and some main aspects are agreed upon by a lot of the authors and it is interesting to read all the different research and interpretations each one has but after reading so many of the same type of book and with the many things that are NOT agreed upon it can get a bit redundant and confusing rather than helping us understand the end times.

As the title suggests, this is all about the end times in chronological order using scripture as a reference. Each chapter has a mini table of contents that makes finding information nice and easy. While this book delves into much of the book of Revelation, it also refers to prophecy throughout the entire Bible and pieces it all together so that scripture can verify scripture. I really liked the information and the layout. However, what held this one back a bit for me was how one-sided it was. Biblical prophecy has had many viewpoints over the years and this book took one view and ran with it instead of showing multiple views. There were a few times where multiple views were discussed and then "proved wrong" by what the author believed but other than those few times, it pretty much stuck to the one view. I would have rather had the different views presented and shown the pros and cons of each view as supported by scripture. I still really enjoyed how the information was presented and there was a lot of good information to be found.

Chronology Works.

For students and simple bible students this chronological style is very helpful. We all have heard and know that there are so many views re the Book of Revelation, including whether some chapters are a recapitulation or just plain chronological. This book simplifies its approach although this is not simplistic.

Very easy to access individual topics like the Tribulation and Millennium, many verses are quoted and an Ebook would be better for quick access to verses referred to.

Unlike Heaven by Randy Alcorn, which doubles as a devotional in its presentation, this is more of an easy access student’s manual and less of a devotional. Although God’s truth always forces one to meditate on the Lord and his promises to His people.

If you are interested in what a pre-trib, pre-millenialist believes about the Second Coming, then this is a very helpful book. Rhodes is clear and concise regarding the timing of all that happens in a complex understanding of the end times. I appreciate Rhodes' commitment to the Scriptures and the power of his convictions, but I did not find his arguments persuasive. As is the case with the Dispensational movement, the Scriptures of the Old and New are often cut and pasted in order to construct a chronology that is not plainly revealed in the Bible. And a failure to read Revelation according to its genre (symbolically) only weakens the overall approach.

Heavy on Assumption, Light on Scriptural Clarity.

The End Times in Chronological Order by Ron Rhodes wasn’t what I had hoped for. While it’s helpful to hear a particular viewpoint laid out, the book relied too much on speculation and assumption, with not enough emphasis on Scripture interpreting Scripture. It presented a position but didn’t make a strong or convincing case for it. I appreciate the effort to bring clarity to end-times topics, but this one missed the mark for me.

Probably one of the best books I've read on the end times. My position is Pre God's Wrath versus Rhodes Pre Trib position. His research and writing is masterful ... doing a great, logical job eliminating the other positions ... but spent no time on the Van Kampen research. Regardless, his position did NOT take away anything and his perspectives and logical assumptions were spectacular. Must Read!!

Are you someone that reads bible study course books for fun? This is for you. I found it interesting but also very very speculative. Scholars have been arguing about the end times since the bible was written. I would be interested in an updated chapter covering the last 10 years and how it could be seen as the start of the end of times.

There are plenty of descriptions in Scripture of end time event happenings, which have left me very confused. This author lays everything out in an organized timeline. What a wonderful way to approach this subject. A wonderfully researched book, I will keep this and refer to again when I want to refresh my memory of events.

Solid but not quite what I'd hoped for.

I've studied prophecy for some time and found Dr. Rhodes consistent in every way. I was hoping for details on unfulfilled prophecies like the red heifers etc. The question of animal sacrifice in the new Jerusalem was addressed but I'm still confused about it. However...it's a solid piece of work especially how smoothly it flows.
