Amish Mennonite Fiction Author, Sicily Yoder continues the story of Old Order Amish woman, Rachael Zook, and the triplets she gave up at birth. Rachael was told that she'd delivered one baby girl, Renee, during an emergency C-section. The Amish parents of Jeremiah Troyer, the Amish man who Rachael had thought was the baby's father have kept Renee and raised her as their own in another city. When Jeremiah Troyer shows up and tells Rachael that he'd cheated on her and had lied to her about being Renee's father, Rachael is heartbroken and self-humiliated by her carelessness during Rumspringa. Making things worse, Jeremiah explains that Rachael had delivered three babies instead of one.Registered Nurse, Brandy Thompson has just been killed in a car wreck, and Elijah Yoder, the real father of Rachael's triplet girls is on the hunt for two of the siblings that Brandy had illegally adopted in the hospital. Will Elijah find them before a serial kidnapper that is looking for blond-haired twins finds them? Can God provide an army of angels to protect one's family even when their parents have fallen by sin? Can Rachael handle raising three daughters that she's never known? Will Elijah come forth and be the Godly father that he needs to be, or will his claims of repentance and promise to join the church and community as an Amish church member and volunteer firefighter prove false? In Shipshewana, the first responders carry German Bibles in their trucks and pray before each run. Is this what Elijah needs?
The story of Rachel Zook continues in Arms of an Angel ~ Amish Snowflakes ~ Volume 4 when Rachel must face the death of her Grossdaedi, Ben and go to the hospital to identify his body for the family. She faces her twin and another cousin that are under the Bann from the Amish community.
Elijah also tells her that she had three baby girls instead of just one, which was another shock. They also touched on their relationship and getting back together making this part of the story sad but gives hope to the young couple getting their family back together.
Again this part of the story ends in a cliffhanger; it is not my favorite way to read a story.
I rate this 1¾ star. I somewhat liked the story, but it was too short to have so much drama and twists and turns. I'm serious, I spent five semesters living in college dormitory and this book had more drama than any college dorm I know and more twists than a rope. It ended oddly a d abruptly. I think I picked up in the middle. I am going to go back read from the beginning and get my bearings. I want to see what the future holds and how life plays out for this group of people.
The story was going along pretty well. There's even some mystery. And then it suddenly ends. What's that all about? It's not like a normal cliffhanger. It's just weird.
We are told in the Bible that angels watch over us without us knowing who and when. How many strangers have you helped in some way and maybe it was an angel.
What happens in chapter 5 - 17? I bought volume 5 so I could just keep on reading.I was on volume 4 chapter 4 . I open volume 5 and it starts with chapter 18? The story is good if you have chapter 1 - the finish
I am looking forward to reading more about this young woman and her life in the next book. I want to find out what happens in the lives of her, the young man, and the babies.
