An early chapter book that takes the characters from the Disney movie on a new adventure. The story was pretty much just fluff, but Cinderella does learn the importance of being honest to avoid any communication errors. For those who can't get enough of princess books, this will be well received.

I know my young students are going to enjoy this little chapter book. Princess Cinderella after the wedding, and meeting the Price's Grandmama for the first time, but they both have a secret they are trying not to make a bad impression on the other so they are keeping it a secret. Great beginning chapter book, with the princess, great selling point for elementary libraries.

Surprisingly we found this whole series at the thrift bookstore and my niece chose to get it. As a result I was tasked with getting the chance to read all the books to see how well they would stand up - do they stand closer to Classic Disney or are they capitalist woke Disney? Or maybe just capitalist Disney trying to get a bit of a mystery theme going on....

First of all some statistics for the whole series. There are included only eight books in this series with a mix of Disney princesses with some older ones and some rather newer ones combined together - Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, Merida and Rapunzel. Out of the eight shown on the box only Cinderella, Merida and Rapunzel are wearing the same dresses on the covers of their books while the other princesses are in different gowns. Meanwhile Tiana and Aurora are both in dresses that I have never seen in any of their canons whether their animated films or the Princess brand. Furthermore there is a listing on the box of the books, which is the way that I chose to read these books, but they can be truthfully read in any order as the reader may wish although I would honestly say Rapunzel's story should be last since that was the one that least interested me.

Each of the books has been illustrated with brightly colored full-page illustrations that are based off their animated films while those like Merida and Rapunzel had to be made into cartoons with Merida pretty much making the cut while Rapunzel didn't fare so well in my opinion.

And then a last statistic for the series, which rather confused me, is that the majority of these stories take place after the films in which these characters appear. Unfortunately the only exceptions to this rule seems to be Belle as her story is meant to take place some time shortly after she has moved into the castle as Beast's prisoner and Rapunzel as her story is meant to take place after she escaped the tower and went through the village but just before the lanterns were released thus making their stories seem more like fan-fic episodes.

This was another book in the series that I was rather worried about in its presentation for a book since all the sequel movies that had been made were rather awful. Furthermore there isn't really much to the tale in the first place and they chose to use the "Taylor Swift" model of Cinderella thus changing her iconic dress from silver to the blue sparkle all of which I am not a fan of.

Surprisingly this tale isn't too bad.... There are the same problems as with Ariel's tale in which the wrong royal address is used for the King and the Dowager Queen while the Prince annoyingly throughout the book is just called the Prince. Please can we not just call him Charming or Prince Henry?

And weirdly enough with this book it was one of the first ones to basically retell Cinderella's story from the film as if the reader wouldn't have known it otherwise....

The story basically is meant to take place about two weeks after Cinderella has been married thus she is rather in the midst of her honeymoon/adjusting phase. No one seems to bat the eyes at her animal friends although Bruno doesn't appear nor Major. The mice for the most part keep their same personalities while I wish that they had done a bit more to make Cinderella stand out than her normal meek persona, especially when Grandmama was being so horrid to her.

All in all it was a cute and sweet story while giving readers a quick read, especially if they are fans of Cinderella.

4 stars! Katherine LOVES this story, and she loves hearing the name “Kitty Richards.” She asks for the audiobook nightly, so 5 stars for that from me... just minus one star because Katherine thought that since the author was Kitty Richards, that there would be more cats in the story.

I didn't like that girl on the street playing dress up princess said, "It can't be yours!" I liked Grand Mama, she was a joker. She was funny.

This was adorable.

Also, I love that everyone is just so cavalier about Cinderella hanging out with talking mice.

This story takes place after Cinderella and the prince have been married a few months, which is very cute; only, we don't see much of the prince as he leaves on a princely errand with his father. The story revolves around Cinderella meeting for the first time the prince's grandmother, which is a little intimidating. Worse, the tiara Grandmama wants Cinderella to wear is nowhere to be seen! Launch yourself into a Disney Princess mystery-adventure! If you're young readers are a fan of Cinderella, Disney, and mystery-adventures, this is a perfect book for them! (Also, I didn't predict the correct ending; as the story went on I just guessing what would happen and I wasn't right which made the story all the better.)

This edition of the Disney Princess Early Chapter book series was just as adequate as the others. The illustrations are spaced out evenly so that my daughter had to actually listen to the story rather than just look at pictures, and the chapters are succinct and focused. In this one, Cinderella discovers that no good deed goes unpunished when her new grandmother-in-law comes for a visit.

I did find myself smiling at the stereotypical way that the prince’s grandmother seems to hate her and everything she does, but this being a Disney children’s book, it’s all chalked up to a big misunderstanding and everyone loves each other in the end.

I disliked the story. Cinderella lied a big part of the book. She lied trying to not to make a bad impression when the Prince's grandmother went to visit. She was coward enough to not tell since the beginning that she had lost the tiara. There is no excuse to lie. At least one mouse was against it and wanted that she tells the truth.

Finally the Prince's grandmother was lying too. They tell each other the truth, and happy end for everyone.

The illustrations are beautiful but there are not many of them. Sometimes the story goes trough so many details that it becomes boring for my daughter and I, so I started skimming a little without reading out loud the many useless details.
