I used to really enjoy this anthology series but this current read was not as enjoyable as I had hoped it'd be. I found the majority of the stories to lack rhythm. Most seemed to end abruptly and lacked a clear direction or focus from the author. I was laughing at how ludicrous the "twist ending" was. I did like some of them though. These didn't make me roll my eyes too hard:

Doing Bris by R.W. Shannon
Prime Piece of Property by Nadia
On the Eve of Tomorrow by Ran Walker
The Other Side of Midnight by Elissa Gabrielle
Tammy's Seminar by Jeremy Edwards
Club Head by Gemini Blaque

''Zane's Busy Bodies : Chocolate Flava 4 " was a very sexy read that can be read alone, or with a partner in bed. The book is very fast -paced, however I found that reading each story slowly heightened my experience of reading this book. The book boasts of several seasoned writers, and it was a book that I enjoyed. I would recommend this book to anyone in need of a change in their reading style, anyone looking to try new things in terms of reading and otherwise. I enjoyed several stories in this book, including "Shadow Dancer" by Landon Dixon, "After Dark" By Niyah Moore (which is now a stand-alone novel entitled "Pigalle Palace" under Zane's Strebor imprint), "One Hour Proof" by Asali, and "Keeping Him" by Cynthia Marie. Zane is considered the Queen Of Erotica for a reason, and this book only backs up that well-deserved moniker. This is not the first Zane anthology I have read, and definitely will not be the last.

I finished this book in no time at all and loved every minute of it! Hot and steamy is all I got to say, I will be reading a lot more from this author in the future. I didn't realize this was part of a series at first but it definitely stands alone also.

I give this book a rating of 5 stars and highly recommend to all the ladies out there!!

3.5 out of 5 stars

I have been reading the Chocolate Flava series since I was in high school. I started with Succulent: Chocolate Flava 2 and have been working my way through the other anthologies. I finished reading Z-Rated in 2020. I plan to finish off with the first one next year. That being said, #2 is still my fav.

I know that Busy Bodies was published 9 whole years ago, but it's never too late to read a steamy anthology. Most of the stories were pretty good. Some I really liked and maybe even loved. Others were just okay or not really relevant to me. I try not to judge when people are involved in sex acts that I don't see myself doing. I understand that different people like different things. So I read through them anyway. I'm learning more about why people do what they do, even if I might not want to try those things.

"Doing Bris" was a very warm, wet, and welcoming start to this anthology. Lol. There were a few minor things I didn't like about it, but nevertheless. "Destiny" was my favorite because I felt like it resonated with me the most; I'm also a woman in my late-20s struggling with my own sexuality. "Coosawhatchie" had similar themes. There were plenty of other individual stories that I will enjoy reading again in the future.

I am a bisexual woman, so I tried to read these un-biased, but I definitely feel like there was slightly more focus on men. There seemed to be a bit more fellatio than there was cunnilingus. There were three stories with MFM in them and two that kind of had FMF content, but not quite. I did like that there was seemingly a diverse representation of sexualities, though. I did not like the first WLW/lesbian story in the anthology, "Club Head," but the others were better.

I definitely feel like I had to deduct points from this being a 4- or 5-star rating because some of the themes and sex scenes got too repetitive, story after story. It was almost as if they were all written by the same few people, which we know isn't true.

The stories were way too short! Probably shorter than the other anthologies I've read so far. At maximum, a story was maybe 12 pages. There were some that were 9 pages or less; these I felt the author rushed through and could have given more plot. I especially hated the pacing of "So Much for Rules." I tried to slow down my reading, but couldn't. I get that sometimes sex is fast, but this just wasn't it. And the speaker in the story talked too much! "Twins" needed dialogue tags because I couldn't tell which sister was talking in the first few pages. Maybe this was meant to be intentional, but it left me confused. There was too much talking in that one as well.

Some of the scenarios in the book I felt were unrealistic. You know a stranger for 5 minutes and that's long enough to decide you want to f*** them? Wild. But I had to remind myself that erotica is still fiction.

This is the type of book I like to read in between intense books. Nothing really of substance, just fun sexy typical Zane short stories. It's just the meat of the sandwich, no bread -- straight to it with no time wasted. I dig.

I liked how she tried to include different types of people/relationships; Lesbian, Disabled, Married, Single, Cheaters, Faithful, etc.. but when it came to the actual sex in the stories they were all basically the same. A queer couple would have been nice but not the generic lesbians every one uses.

I didn't give it more than 3 stars because Zane seems to be really struggling to find new names/ways to explain body parts and actions. Many of the descriptions used in these stories are super corny and far fetched... "Did she really just call it that?.. but it is exactly what I expected.

Quick, easy reading, ratchet, erotic stories; always cool with me.

There were a few, and I stress a few, good stories in the mix I'll give them that, and the anthology setting provided for a mixture of fantasies for the reader. Or rather it should have, however I found the majority of the stories provided to be very lackluster and repetitive in theme with a more than I'd like being basted of adultery in one form or another. That theme in particular might appeal to some readers but overall not quite my cup of tea.

Take from this what you will lol

What's to say? Some stories were better than others. Some were stupid. But if you like eroctica fiction, and I do, then it's a good read.

I used to love Zane's Addicted, and a few other books written by her while in college about 10+ years ago. I read a couple of the chocolate flava and the one for Latin/Latina lovers, which was pretty decent reads. Now that I do not read erotica, I hope I can still get into the storyline and love it as much as I did over 10 years ago. I assume it is doing well if she is on #4 of the Chocolate Flava series. It highlights a number of authors, both male and female. I will share which stories I loved or enjoyed the most as well.

Would love to have a "Man at Work" and no shocker when the lady had her pleasures met but took off the blindfold "In the Dark" so much for "Hard Times".

Interesting stories by these authors, and see how they are some "busy" bodies by getting busy with some-body! Some are even quite comical...

So, I read a whole bunch of books over the summer while I was on vacation and I am just now writing all of the reviews. This is an anthology of twenty-six steamy short stories. And, of course, since Zane's name is attached to this project, you know that the stories are H-O-T!!!

There were quite a few authors that I had never heard of, but now I will check out their work in the future. None of the stories were similar in story line and/or writing style so each one seemed fresh and different. And, while all were different there was one concept that flowed throughout each: we are erotica at its finest!!!

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

If not, I got you Enjoy :)

This book isn’t your typical Zane and she has a few of these that you should go and get like right now. Because what she did she took a select few authors and gave them the space to write out their naughtiest thoughts and I got to say they did a pretty good job. So well in fact that this is one of the many books you should have on your shelves ready to read with a glass of red wine nearby. This book has twenty-seven stories from different authors and let me tell you they were all good and I wish I could talk about them all (No really, I wish I could but this video would be too long) I mean (ooh I see you Cairo, oh man Alison you did it again) so I have my top three stories that pulled me in from the first page and I wanted to share my thoughts about them.
So, Number 3!!! Come see a man about a horse by Zander. I got to admit I wanted to see this man about horse for slight second then I thought nah. But during the duration of this story I thought it. This is your typical one night stand with a twist that I must say was a good opener for the rest of stories in the book. It seems like they got better and better from there.
Number 2. Control Freak This story was good and probably the longest one. It was set up in chapters and for good reason. It’s about a woman who has a thing for this cop and well let’s just say that thing became a reality.
And Lucky number 1 is Meat Me by Lynn Lake and not (hand out left) meet me, (hand out right) Meat me. I know right weird title but nice choice of words. This story was not what I was expecting and I loved the turns and for a short story there was a lot of them. But this woman here exudes that confidence and liberation that you can only read in a Zane banger.
Well, that’s all I have for you today. I got another book for you waiting in the wings (lean sideways) only one at time folks. Got you next Tuesday. Till next time, it was fun. I will leave it at that bye guys.
