Had to read this as I was just in Spain in the land of Don Quixote. I had read the book in high school because it was required reading and wanted a refresher. Although it had moments of humor it was overall a slog to get through.

I wish I was cool enough to have read this book in spanish, but I read a translation. This book is as quirky as you have heard. It is entertaining and light, but probably a bit too long.
