Great informative book. I would also suggest this book for people who have chronic illness, disabilities (with consideration of doctor's recommendations if exercises need to be modify to suit your body and wellness level), have been inactive for a very long time and are wanting to incorporate fitness into their daily routine, or even for those who are recovering from surgery and are done with physical therapy but don't qutie feel ready to dive back into their own fitness regement.

The exercises are clearly explained, most with photos and this book also includes charts in the back of the book to record your progress. I would also say, you don't have to be over 50 years old to beneft from this book. Like I mentioned earlier, it depends on your wellness level. Other aspect that I liked about this book is that to do the floor exercises the book gives clear directions on how to get safely down to the floor and back up again using a chair. This made me think that if someone who may have fallen down onto the floor, this technique can be useful to help them get themselves back up, or at least up into a chair, step, couch safely and be able to get help if necessary.

This should be titled Fitness over Seventy-Five... written in 2003 and useful information but a little dated. Not showing what a 50 year old is really capable of...but it does recommend stretching at least 3-7 times per week. Needs an updated edition.

Good ideas for basic exercises to get started when beginning to workout. It is good to read about programs that work for older adults. I also like the assessment forms located in the back of the book.
